2026 MYP Battery Question..

Question for those who are more knowledgeable in Battery technology.. 2026 MYP. Have some health issues and don’t drive much at the moment due to a number of factors in my life at the moment. Bought my 2026 MYP just over a month ago now, and have 137 total mikes on it (please don’t judge, I’m working on it). For the first couple weeks, I left it connected to the Mobile Charger set at 80% (garage kept). Two weeks ago I changed it to 50% charge state. I’d unplugged it when going to the store and left it unplugged to date. It’s now at 62%. Looking for thoughts on how I should maintain it going forward till I start driving more. I was planning to go with the 80% charge state as recommended, but as I’m not driving it much, I’d seen folks mentioning to keep it at 50% when out of town for extended periods, which is why I figured I’d change it to 50%. Although, to add to my personal confusion, I’d seen comments about the 2026 MYP and charging to 100% every couple weeks with the new battery type.. Any experience, thoughts, on how I should manage battery state?!?! Thanks kindly..

leave at 50. when you plan to use it again, bump it to whatever your needs are

I think what you are doing is fine. Probably leave it between 40-60

You were on the right track! Keep the target at 50% and keep it plugged in when not in use.

**EV batteries are in least stress between 20% to 50% state of charge.** So, if the car had a *"charge to 30%"* option, I would've done that for battery longevity, but alas the minimum you can set it to is 50% So 👉 Set a weekly schedule where the car charges to 50% on say Sunday Level it plugged in, it won't charge on the other days. Car battery % will drop down into the 40s during the week Next Sunday it will charge again to 50%

Appreciate the support. Don’t know if this is normal but I’m only losing like 1% a week when not being driven, sitting in the garage..

Praying for you and your health issues. Feel better soon. The car will be fine.
