Unknown Substance around tire

Can anyone tell me what this goop is around my tires? When i hand wash my car I don't get it but when I take it to the automatic carwash I get it every time. It's a dark grey thick goop. The first time I didn't notice it and it slung the goop all up inside the wheel well and down the side of the car. Now I use a rag to wipe it from inside the groove where the tire and wheel meet.

Using touch car wash? If so, tire shine goop.

If not touchless, then maybe grease from the wheel rail system?

If rail system, then it’s a touch car wash like it stated.

It’s tire shine. Ask them to turn off tire shine next time you go through that car wash.

I was thinking the automated car washes where the tire gets places in a rail system and pushed along while you are in neutral. Those brushes definitely touch the car.

Your tire is rubbing the outside rail of the carwash track scraping all the tire shine off the track. Try to get the inside of the wheel to ride the track instead.

How is this a Tesla issue?

It’s your carwash issue.

Sorry that was me, I hunt at night and the last thing you hear before I strike is "GET GOOPED"

Didn't know this was a Tesla Issues only page, oh that's right it's not. Please refer to your rule #1. Also wasn't sure if it was built up brake dust and was a common thing. So if you needed your "Tesla Issue" to help you sleep better at night, now you have it.
