Juniper Suspension Rattle Fixed?

Advanced-Psy | 2026-02-07 22:33 | 19 views

The sales rep told me on the phone that the upgraded Juniper has the suspension rattle fixed on the juniper refresh. Can anyone else confirm this? He also said that the original junipers now have an open recall on the suspension rattle. I plan to place an order today and I’m looking for any feedback or insight. I do not want to deal with the suspension rattle as I am reading horror stories.

No issue on our 26 model Y LR premium, we had a 23 model Y performance with no rattle either

Suspension rattle? I've had my Juniper since April 2025 and so far haven't gotten any suspension rattles. I don't think I've seen/heard anyone talking about it recently so I don't think it's common unless you get unlucky and get a bad build?

Check the video, thousands are affected by it.

I think it's just gonna be your luck. Teslas are known to have random rattles and build quality issues. It's just that the Tesla content creators don't say anything cause their job/income is directly related to you buying a Tesla. You could get a car that's perfect, 1 that has slight issues or rattling, or 1 that's practically a lemon. My Juniper had a bunch of QA and build quality issues; I had to spend many months with Tesla to have them fix a bunch of stuff.

Advanced-Psy 2026-02-07 22:59

I really appreciate it , thanks for this!

I have a rattle every now and then but I haven’t been notified of any recall. There’s an open recall for battery contactors but when I put my VIN in, it says I don’t have it. Not sure what they’re talking about.

liam1902 2026-02-07 23:08

No problem! 👍 One of my friends bought a MYP in 2022 and another one bought a MY AWD in mid-2023 - both had no issues whatsoever. One of my relatives bought a MYLR AWD in 2024 and on delivery day, Tesla had to adjust a door that wasn't closing properly. Then a few months later had an issue that required going to Tesla Service. After that, I think they haven't had any additional issues. I watched a YouTuber take delivery of a Juniper Launch Series in early-2025 and his had a dashboard rattle. Tesla was apparently able to fix it later on. I bought a Juniper LR AWD in April 2025 and it had cosmetic QA/build quality issues so lots of back and forth to fix those. Haven't had any actual big rattling issues but I usually just blast music on my drives.

Clear-Ad1933 2026-02-08 00:12

I have a 2025 MYP (non-Juniper) and never had a rattle.

lunamjl 2026-02-08 00:24

I'm just waiting for the parts to get to my Long Beach service center on Feb. 17.

Advanced-Psy 2026-02-08 00:31

Okay so there is a fix for it now , you are just waiting on parts ?

lunamjl 2026-02-08 00:42

Yep. Took it in on Feb 4, and they ordered parts and set the appointment for Feb 17.

Advanced-Psy 2026-02-08 00:45

That’s awesome , thanks for this !

digiblur 2026-02-08 01:58

Yup. Been waiting to bring mine in. Only thing I hate about the car well besides the "auto" wipers

liam1902 2026-02-08 01:59

Ah. Also I just turn the wipers off so they don't just randomly wipe. Then when it rains I'll turn it on or auto so then it works properly.

digiblur 2026-02-08 02:01

Except it turns them back on every time you engage FSD or Autosteer. Auto when it rains is too fast. Barely drizzling and it is wiping like a mad man on full tilt.

liam1902 2026-02-08 02:02

Ah yeah that sucks. I currently don't use FSD so I don't have that problem.

digiblur 2026-02-08 02:03

I don't have the FSD sub right now either but I noticed Autosteer kicks it back in. Not sure about TACC.

2026 Juniper. Picked up on 12/7 but it was sitting on the lot. I have this noise and I feel like it’s from the driver’s side front. Mine is quite minor and can only be heard with the radio off. I been going back and forth on whether I should take it in but I really don’t want them taking apart a new car. I am afraid they will make it worse somehow.

It's being called the juniper rattle or something by techs. I just had mine serviced. They replaced the control arm mounts with updated part number, but didn't fix it. It's better, but still there. Said if it doesn't get fixed, then I'll have to wait for Tesla to come out with a fix before bringing it for service again This is Model Y Premium AWD picked up Dec 17.

Advanced-Psy 2026-02-08 12:19

Thanks for your response, is it the refresh? (Black headliner, bigger screen, etc.)

Some_Ad_3898 2026-02-08 14:32

I wouldn't hold purchase because of one issue and the small chance you will have it. The reality is that if you don't get that issue you might have another one.

NutzPup 2026-02-08 16:08

Guy is just pimping mats.

GlitteringResort9111 2026-02-08 18:06

Got Mine early January. Suspension noise was over small bumps at lower speeds. They replaced control arms in front. Service guy said expect framing reduction but not 100%. Lower expectations. Happy to say it’s greatly improved. Nothing of concern to me at this point. Otherwise, loving the car.

luist3k 2026-02-10 13:35

I have it. It is produced at slow speeds (30 mph) on irregular roads. Extremely annoying. There is no open recall so that’s a lie, they mentioned that they expect to release an official fix by march. I’m just waiting for the fix, if there is none I’ll just sell it and go chinese.

Advanced-Psy 2026-02-10 13:37

Thank you for letting me know this. Crazy that they are lying about this. Has affected thousands of people.

dkonyshau 2026-02-16 22:30

Model Y 2026 Premium AWD with a black headliner (built in January 2026) owner here. The rattle still exists, so I have made a service appointment for the end of March. I hope they will have a solution by that time.

Advanced-Psy 2026-02-16 22:41

Unbelievable that they are lying about it.

Matt_VL24 2026-02-19 13:45

Was the problem solved?

Matt_VL24 2026-02-19 13:45

I’m following this thread. Keeps me from pulling the trigger if I’m honest…

Advanced-Psy 2026-02-19 17:08

Same. Won’t buy until it’s fixed.

Matt_VL24 2026-02-19 17:58

Are there other cars you consider? I’m leaning towards the bmw i4. They seem built like a tank…

Advanced-Psy 2026-02-19 18:01

I’m a big fan of the r2 but Rivian is rated least reliable on consumer reports. I haven’t looked into the I4 I’ll check it out. Have you driven one?

Matt_VL24 2026-02-19 18:34

Yes, the edrive40 is great, but it’s really a regular bmw which happens to be electric. I like the open, airy feel of the juniper more.

lunamjl 2026-02-20 02:07

Yep. They replaced both front upper control arm mounts. MOUNT- FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARM - LEFT HAND(2188391- 10-A) MOUNT - FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARM - RIGHT HAND(2188396-10-A)

luisrro 2026-02-21 03:53

So the AWD Juniper has the front‑suspension rattle too? I honestly thought it was only happening on the RWD models. I naïvely assumed that the second motor and the extra weight would offset the issue. I had the rattle on my RWD Juniper by the third day. Just like everyone described, it showed up at low speeds on bumpy roads. I was really disappointed because I love the car, and it’s not exactly cheap. I took mine in for service, and the technician told me the engineers are aware of the problem but don’t have a final solution yet. Even so, I went ahead with the repair, and they replaced both front arm mounts. That reduced the noise by about 80%, which I’m content with, though not fully satisfied. I’m picky about car noises—that’s one of the reasons I went electric in the first place. Before the arm‑mount replacement, it wasn’t awful, but it was bad enough that the vibration and rattle were driving me crazy. After the replacement, I can tolerate the remaining 20% until Tesla engineers come up with a complete fix.

Pitiful_Farm_149 2026-03-06 12:35

The service bulletin is supposedly new struts, just heard it yesterday at Tesla SC. Will wait to get mine until updated parts are on new assemblies.

drakeorman 2026-03-06 16:12

Oh really? I am in Columbia SC just took mine in for a second time for the rattle. They replaced the Steering Column Shroud Lower. This did absolutely nothing. I will press to get new struts and see what happens…

Pitiful_Farm_149 2026-03-06 21:12

The service bulletin is coming man don’t worry. They will do you right. Just be persistent.
