Side view mirror creak

Reposting since I wrote a novel before. Scratched the skullcap on the passenger side mirror. No damage besides cosmetic scratches which I was able to order a replacement from Amazon for 30 bucks exact paint match. No damage to mirror but when window retracts it makes a slight creak. Anyway to fix without completely replacing which I won’t do, no need. Thanks!
