Tesla is recalling almost 13,000 newer model electric vehicles due to a battery pack issue that could fail and cause “loss of drive power,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a notice. Read more: [https://go.forbes.com/Oqg4JQ](https://go.forbes.com/Oqg4JQ)

Quality is job none.

stoverex 2025-10-22 14:49

Must have been built on a Monday or Friday.

SolutionWarm6576 2025-10-22 14:53

Bullish!!!

SolutionWarm6576 2025-10-22 14:53

😂

drusierdmd 2025-10-22 14:54

Although Tesla has faced recalls for years, other automakers have seen significantly more this year. Ford has issued 126 recalls so far in 2025 for a record breaking year

Affectionate-Sink721 2025-10-22 14:54

Stocks is going to jump!

netscorer1 2025-10-22 14:57

Tesla is actually very good at handling recalls. They have one of the lowest recall rates in the industry and most recalls can be handled without even getting the car in the service garage as they can patch firmware remotely. Please name me another car brand that can do that?

AndroidColonel 2025-10-22 14:59

All you anti-Teslers over here trying to make the company look bad 🙄 And then there's Tesla over there making themselves look bad on a daily basis. They don't need your help. 🙃😂😂

ConkerPrime 2025-10-22 15:01

Based on this bad news, Tesla stock definitely going to go up cause that is how the stock market works now.

Barnowl-hoot 2025-10-22 15:02

Cause their cars suck

Far_Addition1210 2025-10-22 15:09

Powerwall recall. Cybertruck recall. Cars recall.

[deleted] 2025-10-22 15:10

Imagine you pay 50k only for your new car to choke in the middle of nowhere. Classic Tesla

Xollector 2025-10-22 15:16

If you suck it will go higher!

Xollector 2025-10-22 15:17

Total recall. Maybe it’s time to go Mars

Lacrewpandora 2025-10-22 15:35

" lowest recall rates" Chuckle - that's because they only make 5 car models. In terms of total number of vehicles affected by recalls, TSLA leads the pack...not a small feat for a mid-sized car company. art-is-t 2025-10-22 15:39

Comments like these used to be funny but it just makes me sad now

netscorer1 2025-10-22 15:40

Again, most of these recalls are simply a matter of firmware update, which is done remotely without you even being aware until after the fact.

dtyamada 2025-10-22 15:54

It could be worse, imagine you're on the highway when you lose power and you lose the ability to control the vehicle.

PoilTheSnail 2025-10-22 16:02

But at least the doors open so you can get out. Your children in the backseat however.

Real-Technician831 2025-10-22 16:05

How many different models does Ford make? https://brclegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Largest-Individual-Recalls-2024-1.png

drusierdmd 2025-10-22 16:11

I'm just quoting the article.

beren12 2025-10-22 16:12

Imagine if you had steer by wire when you lose power, and you lose the ability to steer the vehicle Oh, and as a bonus: all four wheels turn

beren12 2025-10-22 16:12

I’ll push the button

beren12 2025-10-22 16:12

“Not like that”

ragemachine717 2025-10-22 16:15

It’s almost like paying 75k for a brand new Toyota truck for the motor to grenade itself. These things happen Toyota recalled 100k Every manufacturer runs into issues. Classic car company problems

vic25qc 2025-10-22 16:25

They should recall the CEO

borocester 2025-10-22 16:34

Line go up!

Musicman1972 2025-10-22 16:35

Link your data for recalls so we can analyse it.

wesweb 2025-10-22 16:37

Safety Third 💀

wootnootlol 2025-10-22 17:04

It should. Each car returned to the owner after recall will count as new delivery.

dtyamada 2025-10-22 17:07

That was my exact thought!

SentinelZero 2025-10-22 17:11

Edolf must have interfered in the production line that day, demanding the door handles be removed cause he didn't like how they werent 2 microns thick.

beren12 2025-10-22 17:12

Whenever I would mention this, though, in other subs people would down vote me and say “that never happens” and “ but there were redundancies”

dtyamada 2025-10-22 17:14

If it were another manufacturer I might believe there are redundancies. Not this one.

Big_footed_hobbit 2025-10-22 17:14

He was pondering all night in the factory where to save the last cent. Why use 4 screws if 2 are enough.

SentinelZero 2025-10-22 17:15

Why use screws when no screw is cheaper? Or when glue exist?

CleanUpOrDie 2025-10-22 17:46

Some guy in another discussion was dissing other EVs because they were not reliable according to him, because of too many recalls. He's wrong of course; recalls are what makes cars safe and reliable. You would rather have your car recalled and fixed for some issue you (most likely) haven't yet experienced, thus making it more reliable, rather than having the car appear "reliable" and then break down unexpectedly because of an issue known to the manufacturer that they just didn't care to fix. Also, nice to see that his favorite brand also has recalls, although I already knew that. A brand with no recalls is a very unsafe brand indeed.

CleanUpOrDie 2025-10-22 17:54

You must be living in the past. 10 years ago, Tesla was basically alone with OTA updates, but now other cars are also getting them. Also, having a low recall rate is in itself not a good thing. I'm not saying it is necessarily bad, but a brand that ignores problems they are aware of, for example because it will likely affect a low number of users before the warranty expires, will get lower recall rates than other brands. Whereas a manufacturer that recalls and fixes every problem known, will get a very high recall rate. You cannot deduce from the recall rate alone if a manufacturer is good or not.

vmspionage 2025-10-22 20:36

I wonder if the replacement battery pack is a "remanufactured" one with old cells coming from someone else's car

Common-Violinist-305 2025-10-22 21:23

share price rocket

thebaldfox 2025-10-22 21:43

So listen to this. This past weekend I had my Mach-e serviced at home (recall) by the Ford Dealership mobile tech. We're talking about the Mach-e as he is doing an update and he said that he doesn't like EVs because he thinks that they are unsafe... Because of the batteries... I say well, the alternative is driving around with a tank full of flammable liquid and that there are always tradeoffs when you're using energy sources... He then goes on to tell me that he's lost his brother in a car crash earlier this year........... In an ICE Nissan when his gas tank burst into flames following a collision!!!! I'm not even joking!

patsj5 2025-10-22 23:35

This is why the Cybertruck mostly made of glue.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-23 00:16

Let's try AAA batteries this time.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-23 00:18

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-23 00:19

Unsafe at any speed!

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-23 00:20

That should send TSLA up another 10%.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-23 00:20

Get your ass to Mars!

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-23 00:21

Recharged AAAs recovered from a landfill.

Raziel_Ralosandoral 2025-10-23 06:18

HEY! No rationalizing here, only hate.

[deleted] 2025-10-23 07:33

Standing still too. An amazing feat of engineering

Raziel_Ralosandoral 2025-10-23 08:23

Interesting link. Not quite as devastating for Tesla as you seem to think though. * Tesla isn't on the "most recalls" charts, for both '24 and '25 * Tesla in 5th place for **fewest** recalls * Tesla is in 1st place for Largest Individual Recalls. 2 MILLION+ in a single recall. * Tesla is in 1st place again for People Affected by Recalls. 5 MILLION cars. * Do Not Drive Advisories, no Tesla. * Park Outside Advisories, again no Tesla. Let's have a look at that 2 million + recall. **Issue:** Incorrect Font Size on Warning Lights. The text icons for Brake, Park, and ABS were smaller than the legal limit of 3.2mm. Resolved with an over the air update, I bet 99% of owners never even noticed. That still leaves their third place entry with 1.8 million vehicles were software may not detect if the hood was unlatched. This could pose serious risks, and they should rightly catch flak for this one. That one too though, was resolved with an over-the-air update. In fact, all but one of the mentioned Tesla recalls were resolved with an update, meaning most of the "affected" people likely never even noticed the issue in the first place. Of the **Notable Auto Recalls in 2025**, only 2 were resolved with OTA updates, one by Volvo and one by Tesla. In the **Description of Major Recalls by Manufacterer, 2024** list, only TWO out of 55 recalls by other brands in the list were handled by an OTA update. For all others, a visit to the dealer was required. A few could be resolved with an update at the dealer, but for the majority physical intervention by the dealer was required. About the 1st place for total cars affected, at over 5 million cars: Yup, this is a big number. However, the fact that most of these recalls are handled by updates with zero user intervention means that for the average owner, these kind of juicy statistics have no impact. The Do Not Drive and Park Outside advisories, which I'd argue are the most severe and dangerous ones, both lack Tesla. Some of the recalls ARE serious stuff, but having a proper look at the data shows that they're not some kind of demon brand crafted from pure distilled failure. Fear not, there's still plenty to dislike. * "Full Self Driving" is a lie that's been perpetuated since... what, 2012? * Promises of "this hardware is fully autonomous driving capable" have been disproven multiple times * Build quality, panel gaps * Frequent over-promising and under-delivering * Cybertruck missed all the promised specs and price point by a mile * Wasn't there a Roadster promised? * WHO THE HECK REMOVES INDICATOR AND DRIVE STALKS? SERIOUSLY! * Not to mention the CEO is a literal neo-nazi

gadhalund 2025-10-23 10:29

Maybe no recalls for 20 years could be a clause of musks 1 trillion pay claim

TerranOPZ 2025-10-23 11:31

It could be worse, imagine that it actually happened. Yes it happened to me when my friend was driving me in a Tesla.

beren12 2025-10-27 00:20

They say they have them. All electronic no physical.

dtyamada 2025-10-27 16:31

Then they all have a common point of failure ... loss of power. Not very redundant :/
