And looks like they won’t be producing 1000’s of Optimus “Robots”, by the end of the year. Another false prediction by Elmo. He’s such a conman and a fraud.
You mean Elon lied? Say it isn’t so!!!
I mean - we knew this already
Stock to 600? Make it make sense.
Not surprised. Over promise and under deliver. Elmo always.
Baby momma says what?
It doesn’t matter. It is up now. Priced in.
Which one? Elon's bought four.
600? you scared me.. but it's absolutely not true.
Same old crap, now made even more cheaply with bad AI
Producing 1000 optimus in 2025 is a distraction. There will be a trillion optimus in 2100! /s
A Cybertruck has more in common with a Gucci bag than it does with the Batmobile. A Gucci bag is meant to be a personal statement, a symbol of wealth but in terms of functionality it would function the same as a much cheaper one. The same can be said for the Cybertruck (actually you can't even use a Cybertruck for off road stuff unlike a Ford) yet Tesla markets it as a post-apocalyptic heavy duty vehicle. This is nowt new in a long line of Tesla lies.
They removed $10,000 of features and gave a $5,000 discount. Will there be enough stupid people buying it? Or will they be in rental fleets?
As hertz has discovered, teslas are not a good choice for rental fleets. They depreciate too fast even not being driven.
FSD in 2 weeks!
[deleted]
The glass roof that’s covered up by an internal liner is the biggest middle finger to their customers.
Two more weeks
I’m shocked. SHOCKED!. Well not that shocked
They spent money covering up the glass roof rather than replacing it with steel
[deleted]
Gucci bag functions.
“As for the glass roof, it's still there, but there's a full headliner on the inside that covers it entirely. Tesla calls it a "Closed glass roof." [Source](https://insideevs.com/news/774980/2026-tesla-model-y-standard-affordable-ev/)
They may eventually change it to a true hard top, but this is the cheapest option for now for them. It likely doesn't have the UV filtering coating that the normal glass has as well.
And no autopilot. I don't think many are going to spend 8k for FSD after cutting out 5k. I was initially tempted as I didn't like the look of the new juniper. But no seat controls, AP or frunk seal, is a bit much.

*"Reuters is lying (again)"* \- TechnoFibber, April 5, 2024
Elon never lied, just can't fulfill his promises.
So whos going to make the aftermarket headliner that will let the sun shine in
He lives in a world like Trump and other of these types of people do. They think they can just manifest reality by tossing money at it or saying it over and over hoping it becomes true. Their mental
Yeah, don’t scare us like that! This is stock to 750 news at least! 💎🙌 /s
I'm waiting for someone to make an aftermarket headliner (screen) with padding now.
For $100 they sell you a fancy Tesla razor blade.
Right? A Gucci bag is at least well made.
It wasn't just that, repairs were expensive and rental cars obviously need regular repairs.
Yes, that too, although the cost of repairs is part of the depreciation equation for a car rental business.
A Gucci bag will still have positive worth in 10 years
And is made out of quality materials.
that and deleting the side seat controls. Mirrors probably have the folding motors in it but they're deactivated.
they also ran them thru carwashes without closing the cabin air filter damper so they all stunk a few months out
my HW4 2023 MY purchase (w/ $6000 off list) is looking very, very good. I was looking at Highland then and saying no thanks man.
TLDR: Tesla's new affordable models are neither new nor affordable.
The game is up, the only thing keeping this going is greedy I situational investors playing the game.
A Gucci bag wont burn you to a trapped crisp either
closed glass roof 😂😂😂
If anyone wants an affordable EV a 2023 with HW4 is the way to go.
x-acto
Hadn't heard that one. Interesting.
Ask me how I know, LOL (I was occasionally renting Teslas for a week 2022-23 before getting fed up with Hertz and just getting my own in late '23)
So many hidden little things you don't need to think about on other cars.
Basically $7500 off for a low grade version of a car designed in 2016. Tesla is on the cutting edge of further degrading decades old automotive technology. Grats.
> The bigger issue is that rivals aren’t sitting idle. The Nissan Leaf has returned as America’s cheapest EV with more than 300 miles of range, starting at just $30,000. The Chevy Equinox EV starts in the mid-$30,000 range as well, and also delivers over 300 miles of range. However, the Model Y Standard will likely have better software and FSD could be an advantage for some owners keen on the ADAS tech. Tesla is fucked. They are behind on manufacturing efficiency and ability to deliver a low price EV. They are $10k more expensive than competitors.
And the crazy thing is that people think Tesla is going to profitably operate a robotaxi fleet, as if the economics are materially different
>The cars will still include integration with Musk’s AI chatbot Grok Fascism mode ON!
I think the upside of this is how good it's going to make the competition look.
> They are $10k more expensive than competitors. That, plus that whole Nazi salute thing probably lost a few customers.
I'm sure the stonk is going to shoot up from the massive investment fraud scheme that's been operating in plain sight for years with nobody doing anything to stop it.
The best they could do was rip out all the features and charge like 5,000$ less. You thought the misaligned body panels, poor paint finish, and interior rattles were bad? Wait until you hop into one of these bad Larry’s!
That, and Elon is still an open Nazi.
Not new but also not affordable.
Yes, but in both their cases, they have manifested what they claimed, so that blows your theory out the door
There are tons of rusty model Ys and 3s that can be purchased for near nothing on the used market. Why wait 10,000 miles for the rust when you can have it now?
They categorically have not, and it's laughable that you'd suggest otherwise.
It is not a lie if you believe it.
If Ford, GM, Hyundai, or any other legacy automaker were to offer a stripped-down version of an existing product at a reduced price, where the price reflects the elimination of features, it would not go unnoticed. The media, the YouTube reviewers, and the internet would be abuzz with the news that the legacy auto makers are DOOMED, and Tesla fans would seize the opportunity to criticize the legacy automakers for their perceived lack of innovation and inability to create new products.
This is the iPhone SE of vehicles.
You can pay 12k to turn off the Hitler speeches that warn people of your approach at slow speeds
? Hate to break it to you, but Trump did in fact win more EVs in last year's presidential election.
>With Optimus three, which is really the right design, there's no *significant* flaws with the Optimus three design. We are going to retool a bunch of things. There will *probably* be prototypes of Optimus three by the end of this year, and then scale production next year. We will scale Optimus production *as fast as possible* and *try to* get to a million units a year as *quickly as possible*. *We think* we can get there in less than five years. That's a *reasonable aspiration*...
Yeah from a supply chain perspective and manufacturing, this was likely the most cost effective to start. A metal roof likely means new vendors, new processes to validate, more SKUs to manage, another line on the plant floor, more surface area to paint, so reprogramming and software validation activities for the robots. Much of the hard work manufacturing engineers do go unnoticed until you make a chance in the process.

That feature will literally roast people in the southwest in the summer.
? Yeah? Him and every other president in the history of the country. What's your point?
"manifesting" something is faking it until you make it
We're talking about these men achieving something that is not realistic. Trump winning the election was always realistic.
Trump had been banging at that door since at least 2000. It finally yielded in 2016, when Trump found the right mix of fakery and money.
Also not letting them out when they get in a car crash
it's a joke, other car companies would call this their business edition, Tesla there is a hype around a new affordable model
I live in Texas. Glass roof is useless. Have had a sunshade since day one.
