France new car registrations down 7.66% in July, Tesla sales drop 26.57%

Text Aug 1 (Reuters) - New car registrations in France slid 7.66% in July from a year earlier to 116,377 vehicles, data from French car body PFA showed on Friday. Tesla sales in the country fell 26.57% to 1,307 vehicles last month. Since the start of the year, Tesla's sales have slumped by 38.52%, while the overall French market has shrunk by 7.91% over the same period.

1 percent market share. Impressive.

Unless they can make a case to build a smaller car in Grünheide plant then the plant should be shut down and the EU market supplied with US built cars.

Tesla started selling European made vehicles in Canada because of Trump. I think the cars in India also come from Europe, not sure They could shut down the European plant and import from China where they cannot import from the US.

Indian and Canadian sales volumes are low. I don't understand why the low occupancy of their plants is not being highlighted. It is like one of those "tesla is different to a legacy manufacturer" things which turns out not to be different after all.
