"The rideshare app is currently restricted to the downtown and South Congress neighborhoods. Access is by invitation only and priced at $6.90 a ride, up from $4.20 a few weeks ago." That is a grown 55 year old man making these middle school jokes.

memoryisntram 2025-07-23 20:49

Whew! Good thing they aren’t a car company anymore! Top tier pivot Mister Muskrat sir. Now they are a diner opening their first location in LA! Get in on the ground floor of those hot new eatery! (Previous inflated evaluation of the company stays though because of reasons)

Charming-Tap-1332 2025-07-23 20:51

When a company has declining sales and market share in an expanding market, and still trades at a PE >200.., why bother even discussing the fundamentals...?

You stay the same age as you were on the day when you got rich. For Musk, it's effectively forever. He is an oversized horny teenager. The Tesla model letters are: S.3.X.Y

[deleted] 2025-07-23 20:59

Yet the stock is up today………..

Dewfall-Hawk 2025-07-23 21:00

Did you see the penis map?

[deleted] 2025-07-23 21:00

Unless the stock is up fuelled by short sellers?

ShotBandicoot7 2025-07-23 21:04

Fueled by short sellers??

Bulky_Specialist9645 2025-07-23 21:09

2nd Quarter Tesla profit and loss report is the best work of fiction since Tolstoy's War and Peace...

Scrutinizer 2025-07-23 21:09

Aaaaaand it's up $1.34 after hours. This is like watching gravity fail.

Charming-Tap-1332 2025-07-23 21:10

There is no material short interest in TSLA at this time. The days to cover are sitting at less than 1 day.

55 year old pervert with a breeding fetish who was (until recently) best friends with a pedo billionaire.

Charming-Tap-1332 2025-07-23 21:13

It's sort of funny how virtually no one questions the validity of Tesla financials. After the countless lies from Elon Musk on virtually every topic, we are now supposed to believe that financial figures Tesla gives to the public are 100% accurate? Come on, folks...

[deleted] 2025-07-23 21:14

A short sell in the stock market is when an investor borrows shares of a stock and sells them, hoping the price will go down. The investor then plans to buy the shares back at a lower price, return them to the lender, and keep the difference as profit.

Charming-Tap-1332 2025-07-23 21:16

Yet virtually all of the children he has fathered were consummated through IVF...

ShotBandicoot7 2025-07-23 21:19

Thanks, yeah I know very well how short selling works. What I fail to understand is how short selling can keep the stock fuelled up sustainably. There may be waves of short covering on aggressive moves. But short selling itself wouldn’t „fuel a stock“. Or am I overlooking some effect?

[deleted] 2025-07-23 21:23

I don’t just wondering if it’s possible

[deleted] 2025-07-23 21:24

So why would the stock rally bad news after bad news?

Charming-Tap-1332 2025-07-23 21:26

Short interest in a stock can absolutely fuel a rise in its share price. That phenomenon is what fueled Gamestop.

Kobosil 2025-07-23 21:26

my two favorite numbers: \-89% free cash flow 13,409 other models production (-45% YoY)

ShotBandicoot7 2025-07-23 21:28

It‘s possible, usually when a heavily shorted stock with low float (low amount of available shares to buy). But with such a liquid and heavily traded stock I think such short covering runs are usually tied to surprise up events when shorts get margin called etc. Real short squeezes are more likely in smaller meme stocks like recently CRCL or the most famous of all with GME.

I-Pacer 2025-07-23 21:31

And don’t forget that the Model 3 was originally supposed to be the Model E, but Ford had the trademark on that name and refused to release it to Tesla. So he wanted so badly for them to be S E X and Y. I appreciate Ford for that.

Cantdrownafish 2025-07-23 21:31

I can only think of market manipulation and crime

Charming-Tap-1332 2025-07-23 21:31

You have a very complicated question there. One answer is "yours and my" bad news may be attributed as good news to "someone else." There are so many players in $TSLA with dreams formulated while tripping on LSD that I can't imagine all the various possibilities investors have dreamed up.

ShotBandicoot7 2025-07-23 21:56

Yeah see my comment below. But for TSLA it‘s tough to get such a situation because you would need insane amount of money to get to a meaningful short interest.

DisplacerBeastMode 2025-07-23 22:07

What a fucking disingenuous headline and tagline "Tesla Profit Falls, Hurt by Plunging EV Sales Electric-vehicle maker’s net income dropped 16% in second quarter" I feel like they are intentionally trying to soften the blow by implying that EV sales are income are down in general, when in reality it's just Tesla.

Scrutinizer 2025-07-23 22:10

Well, that turned around rather suddenly....now down about $12.

NewSanDiegean 2025-07-23 22:11

Elon looks tired and not confident in this call. The body language is giving it away. Tesla is going to crash.

Namerunaunyaroo 2025-07-23 22:18

Correction “…dreams formulated while tripping on FSD….”

Charlie_Wax 2025-07-23 22:20

Look at me. I am the Wendy's now.

thelierama 2025-07-23 22:23

Going by the stock price, I thought the earnings were amazing. If it were bad, stock would have increased by 5%

heleuma 2025-07-23 22:29

You mean ...hurt by plunging Tesla EV sales. I don't think EV sales in general are "plunging"

-Invalid_Selection- 2025-07-23 22:38

Because tesla is a speculative scam, not based on any rational anything

EntrepreneurIcy2574 2025-07-23 23:22

Ready to buy more stocks!

Hixie 2025-07-23 23:32

Does anyone know what Tesla's actual runway is? How much of a problem is this, existentially? Are they still actually profitable?

LVegasGuy 2025-07-23 23:58

EV sales don't matter Tesla is now a restaurant company.

torokunai 2025-07-24 00:13

~10 years

dbcooper4 2025-07-24 01:45

Probably right when Musk started spitballing on the conference call.

dbcooper4 2025-07-24 01:47

$149M in free cash flow **before** the tax credits expire on the car and energy business.

[deleted] 2025-07-24 02:03

Never underestimate copium

Rafxtt 2025-07-24 02:07

And ketamine.

Derpymcderrp 2025-07-24 02:32

Believe it or not, calls

ad-astra-specta 2025-07-24 02:44

What's really bad about tripping on FSD is the inevitable crash.

Beartrkkr 2025-07-24 03:17

Did you not see the diner? Surely that's worth a 10% increase in stock price...

turd_vinegar 2025-07-24 04:08

When the ability to sell carbon credits goes away (and it is soon) they will have net negative revenue.

[deleted] 2025-07-24 06:07

You go and do that.

ActivityOk9255 2025-07-24 08:38

Todays internet winner :-)

gwenver 2025-07-24 09:19

In terms of stock price I'm not sure which is worse: Losing the race to the competition in a growing market. Or going down with everyone else in a dying market. Don't think either of those narratives should appeal to "investors".

gwenver 2025-07-24 09:23

Yes, but going forward, every hot meal consumed on earth will be at a Tesla diner. It's just the logical next step from EVs, spaceships and robots...

Intelligent-Rest-231 2025-07-24 09:26

And how many CFO’s have they had? That alone should trigger investigations.

Withnail2019 2025-07-24 09:36

The short sellers have to buy Tesla shares at some point which can fuel demand

sonicmerlin 2025-07-24 09:57

They’re talking about Tesla’s EV sales. No one would misunderstand that headline.

Surviverino 2025-07-24 10:37

That's what you get when you blow all your money on vaporware.

y4udothistome 2025-07-25 04:32

Did you hear it’s not a car company it’s a diner
