What regulatory agencies exist to correct this? Wasn’t that the point of Elon’s involvement in DOGE?
Since when do the Elons of the world care about laws?
It’s so crazy to me that they just let this shit on the road.
Unexpected is a stretch.
Possibly broken a few laws? Man, I gotta use that line when I go senile and start driving into oncoming traffic
Who? The imaginary regulators?
I'm guessing whoever decided they needed the word 'potentially' in the headline hadn't seen the videos!
Lol
yup, that's what they do with robotaxis Waymo just last year: > Earlier this month, the U.S. auto safety regulator opened an investigation after 22 reports of its robotaxis exhibiting driving behavior that potentially violated traffic safety laws, or demonstrating other "unexpected behavior," including 17 collisions. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/us-safety-probe-into-waymo-self-driving-vehicles-finds-more-incidents-2024-05-24/
Yes, DOGE was [most likely](https://web.archive.org/web/20250601235638/https://democrats-judiciary.house.gov/uploadedfiles/2025.02.13_fact_sheet_re_musk_investigations.pdf) a cover for Musk to take revenge on agencies that tried to hold his companies accountable.
No shit
"Potentially"
It’s absolutely insane to think that Tesla robotaxis specifically, wont kill people. Elon musk is a nazi.

Wait, this is big news! The USA still HAS regulators after Musk did all the firing and dismantling??? NO WAY!
Classic Texas behavior
They don't, otherwise they wouldn't be fElons.
Waymo did 4 million rides alone last year and only had 22 reports of driving behavior. Tesla had all of 10 cars for 5 days and had 4 reports of driving behavior that potentially violated traffic safety laws. Likely well under 1000 rides. Waymo is having 1 potential traffic violation every 200,000 rides. Tesla is likely indicating 1 traffic violation every 250 rides. About a rate 1000x that of Waymo. Waymo also reports publicly their incidents. Tesla is fighting hand and nail to have all that information remain private. https://www.damfirm.com/waymo-accident-statistics.html
They won't with a human safety driver in them. They will never operate any other way because they are fake and don't work.

But will they actually do anything about it?
They didn't program them to follow laws. They trained them to emulate human drivers based off of footage on how they drive.
Such an underrated comment. The ratio is incredible. Tesla would have by its current performance a ratio of driving incidents compared to waymo after 4 million rides of 16.000 : 22. Tesla is 730 times more likely to have an incident. And all that in perfect conditions. Waymo as well drove in rain and all night and in way more difficult situations. given that fact, tesla is probably 1500 times more likely to have an incidet. It is fucking insane to leave that shit on the road
Nah, the mighty dollar will win. What are a few lives lost. A few big donations and this will be swept under the carpet. The only thing that helps is not using the service. The customer is always right
Can these things even get pulled over by police? What would they do with it once stopped?
Good thing y'all weren't around during the glorious tulip bubble.
Right - the same regulators who took the swift and drastic action of sending a strongly-worded letter after at least three people were killed as a direct result of Autopilot's lack of any robust means to ensure driver engagement.
\*Tesla drivers
If was expected behaviour, just not predictable behaviour. Expect the unexpected.
DELETE YOUR NAZI TSLA! 🔥
That’s what you get when you have to get the president to bend the rules to let you do your tiny test. The tech isn’t ready
Oh I break a single law about driving 11 over and I get shit canned in the insurance and told that I should basically put my next paycheck to the government... Robotaxis endanger human lives constantly and they get "looked at sternly."
Cant wait for the netflix documentary
And these incidents were the ones that the Tesla fanboys would actually post. I wonder how many they did not post?
It seems that these writers are intricately woven into a sophisticated web of collusion designed to mislead the public. With the absence of robust US regulatory bodies—an outcome largely due to the influence of DOGE, which must, by extension, be linked to the financial clout of Tesla—the landscape slides to no regulation or customer protection. Who are they kidding! Indeed, Musk legally and illegally poured a huuuuuuuuuuuge sum into supporting Trump's election campaign, a move that ultimately granted him unparalleled access and control over various government agencies. This seemingly gives Musk the freedom to operate with impunity, manipulating any agency that might have once posed a regulatory challenge to his ventures, whether they involve tangible products or speculative enterprises. Spare me this non-sense regulatory agencies circulating over bla bla bla...
Regulators vs. Elon musk. Tell me another funny one.
Waymos get pulled over all the time. They move over and stop when they see the party lights, and there’s a phone number and identifier on the driver side door/window area (can’t remember exactly where it is). Cops are all briefed on how to handle driverless cars before they hit the road in whatever city they’re handling them in.
