By now, I believe they cover and disguise the car not to hide things, but quite the opposite, to make it stand out. Otherwise, probably no one would notice it at all.

Currently the Performance trim is only available to order in Europe and the Middle East, since production started at Giga Berlin first. In the US, no announcements have been made about production in either Austin or Fremont - that’s why seeing a camouflaged one is a promising sign.

IMHO, seems like they do this to get more interest. I bet if they didn't have any of the camo on, people would not notice it was the performance model driving around.

eh, no. not how that works. standard practice to disguise certain elements until official release. doesn't matter if it's a Camry or a Ferrari. they all disguise until either new model debuts or trim debuts.
that's the vanilla's/laymen's perception of the car business but now how it actually works. whether it's a new Camry, new trim of a Camry, Lexus or Tesla, there's no unmasking in the host market until it's official.
