Holding out for the MYL P

noobgiraffe 2025-08-29 12:08

Kind of funny to reveal performance model and not disclose any performance info. They do not spare on desctibing the color though and we all know red goes fast.

byrans 2025-08-29 12:21

Any speculation on the higher range? Or implications of the new battery?

Electrical_Quality_6 2025-08-29 12:59

🚀

Electrical_Quality_6 2025-08-29 13:00

no evs can compete with the power and force of Teslas, that’s for sure.

Soaring_Burrito 2025-08-29 13:05

2 bullet points just for the carbon spoiler. SMH

DeathChill 2025-08-29 13:44

I know. Where are the actual performance specs?

E90alex 2025-08-29 13:54

Mach-E is faster 0-60 than Model Y

E90alex 2025-08-29 13:55

WLTP testing vs EPA

E90alex 2025-08-29 13:55

Because they probably didn’t upgrade anything performance wise vs the old MYP.

Electrical_Quality_6 2025-08-29 13:57

id like to see that race, even further and maybe even a racetrack race for that matter

jabroni4545 2025-08-29 14:28

Did they fix the thermal management issues?

E90alex 2025-08-29 14:29

Yes in 2024. New motors and wiring, no more 5 second power limit.

Dr_Pippin 2025-08-29 16:32

Don't expect higher range from a performance model.

Dr_Pippin 2025-08-29 16:32

It is unbelievable to me that they released the car with that thermal throttling. Actually, no, it's Ford. I can completely believe they would do that.

TeslaM1 2025-08-29 18:30

The fragmentation of region specific features/models is weird. China: MYL Europe: MYP US: MYSmol

eatmynasty 2025-08-29 20:26

What’s MYSmol?

ccarter8020 2025-08-29 20:28

Which trim.. the highest trim Mach-e va the lowest trim tesla model y? Lol

[deleted] 2025-08-29 21:04

Also the m3P in Canada with 50 less horsepower.

E90alex 2025-08-29 21:05

Manufacturer quoted times: Mach-E Extended Range RWD 0-60 5.2s Model Y Long Range RWD 0-60 5.4s Mach-E Extended range AWD 0-60 4.1s Model Y Long Range AWD 0-60 4.6 Mach-E GT w/ Performance upgrade 0-60 3.3s *with* rollout Old Model Y Performance 0-60 3.5s *without* rollout

bphase 2025-08-29 21:57

It is indeed higher than earlier performances

mineNombies 2025-08-30 00:05

They're eventually gonna figure out a way to add an H modifier on the end

Dr_Pippin 2025-08-30 02:59

Let’s wait for actual EPA numbers rather than the WLTP numbers. Unless you’ve seen something I haven’t.

[deleted] 2025-08-30 12:51

They still want to call them all a model Y to keep the “best selling Car” title. For example Toyota sells way more RAV4s than model Ys. But it is fractured into a dozen brands and 30+ models. Some specific to just a single country. We have seen this a few times bite Tesla in the butt with countries like Australia where the car had to be modified after delivery to meet the country’s requirements. Usually small like remove this trim piece for access to a car seat latch.

Ydik

SoftwareSoft4474 2025-08-31 16:56

It’s obviously going to be sub-4 0-60. Will be an insane 1/4 mile. But I’m sure you have a 14 car garage filled with Lambo’s, Ferrari’s, GT3’s and Bugatti’s so it’s understandable you need hard numbers before committing.
