Why did they do the plaid logo on the seats? ☠️

Perryfl 2025-08-29 13:00

it looks much taller than my current MYP.. like it looks like its not lowered at all vs the current long range like the previouse gen MYP was vs the previous MYLR maybe just camera angle or something

Interesting….commentary. By all accounts, people really like the Model 3 Performance. All those upgrades, plus a larger front screen and more defined front fascia have made it onto the Model Y. Depending on pricing, this could again be the sweet spot for a lot of buyers in the lineup.

tyj_30 2025-08-29 13:46

This is the insane badge, not plaid.

DeepFizz 2025-08-29 14:22

Okay… but it’s never been on anything other than a plaid. A cheap looking seat badge undermines the brand. Or maybe that’s on purpose? Just seems oddly placed.

soapinmouth 2025-08-29 14:33

Wonder if the 16" screen could be reasonably retrofitable.

miojo 2025-08-29 15:24

Range?

maxipanda8321 2025-08-29 16:11

Screen almost as big as the tyres

[deleted] 2025-08-29 16:12

What’s the output? 460 or 510

Da_Spooky_Ghost 2025-08-29 16:32

So can I order this or the 7 seater before September 31st and get the tax break?

grommet 2025-08-29 16:34

It’s different than the Plaid badge. It’s the same badge they used on the Model 3 Performance, which also has it on the trunk and the seats.

cchackal 2025-08-29 16:40

*performance badge

Few_Commission3296 2025-08-29 16:43

360miles (580km)

[deleted] 2025-08-29 16:48

For the 3rd time it’s not a plaid badge

miojo 2025-08-29 16:56

Nice

CarCooler 2025-08-29 17:36

September 30. Neither is yet available in the US.

FearTheClown5 2025-08-29 17:46

Range bump is nice. I can see it knocking a couple minutes off each stop vs my shorter range 25 MYP on a road trip. Will be good for daily drivers like my buddy that travels around the state for his job and had to get the legacy RWD to accommodate.

FearTheClown5 2025-08-29 17:49

Yea agreed. It is lowered but very very little compared to the difference it is in legacy Ys. You can see it here on the Netherlands site. I bet they decided to do this to make the ride softer. I can see a lot of these being lowered further after purchase. https://www.tesla.com/nl_nl/modely/design#overview

Siciliano777 2025-08-29 18:45

I wonder how much it'll be... $75k base?

Fire69 2025-08-29 19:01

I'm a bit mad about that screen! I get all the other changes are performance based but why didn't the normal Y get this screen? It's in the YL also :(

Da_Spooky_Ghost 2025-08-29 19:24

So if you order the car by sept 31st you can take delivery at a later date and still get the tax credit

soapinmouth 2025-08-29 19:47

Feel like this shouldn't be too hard to retrofit (unofficially) is the good news. Highly doubt there will be an official retrofit. I don't think they will have changed a ton of different parts connecting to it, but will have to see

grommet 2025-08-29 20:05

No. It has to be delivered. Tesla doesn’t do sales contracts and payments until the car is ready for delivery.

ATN5 2025-08-29 21:06

I mean the Model Y came out before the Y L so it makes sense 😂

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-08-29 21:44

Worth noting that’s WLTP rating used in Europe. EPA rating in the US will likely be below the current LR AWD’s rating of 327 miles.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-08-29 21:45

It’s also on the Model 3 Performance seats. It isn’t plaid, plaid has squares.

Defiant-Bunch-9917 2025-08-29 22:26

Im very afraid of the pricing. The UK price is like 85k converted to USD. Really hope thats not the case here. But then again, UK has crazy high import tariffs too....

Defiant-Bunch-9917 2025-08-29 22:27

I think its US its going to be pushing 55-60k

OptimizeWithAPassion 2025-08-29 23:01

Looks like a toy 🧸 rather than a real performance vehicle.. not a fan of the styling, too generic.

throwaway4231throw 2025-08-30 00:43

My god, the new model Ys are so ugly compared to the old design. I thought it would grow on me, but it hasn’t

BikeByDesign 2025-08-30 04:32

The U.K. Model 3 Performance is $81K converted to USD. So there’s that.

dopestar667 2025-08-30 06:49

Probably “510”, or more, like the Model 3 Performance, but the Model 3 Performance runs quarter miles equivalent to a 620hp car. Tesla’s HP claims are weird. I have a Model 3 Performance and a 2013 Dodge Viper. Model 3 “510hp” 10.9@124mph Viper 640hp 11.5@128mph. The trap speed of the Viper is higher but it weighs 3400lbs, almost 700 less than the Tesla.

Key-Concentrate-5433 2025-08-30 10:34

Best car on the planet by far

tech--advisor 2025-08-30 17:17

When available in usa ???

WrongdoerIll5187 2025-08-30 20:02

It drives so fregin good.

Rough_Astronomer8824 2025-08-30 23:03

Just saw a video (the internet is never wrong) that the EU limits the MYP to 460, but US version will probably be 510.

[deleted] 2025-08-30 23:36

The new lg battery in the MYP may give it more than the 460 being suggested but we won’t know for sure until it’s put on a dyno

godnorazi 2025-08-31 17:33

The video looks kinda squished

godnorazi 2025-08-31 17:34

My 2021 MYP outputs close to 560hp stock using a Dragy dyno at 95% battery so I really doubt the new Juniper Y would be lower.

DiagCarFix 2025-08-31 21:23

ppl are still paying off their old MYP intel and amd and some with FSD

Available_Win5204 2025-08-31 23:29

Looks lowered quite a bit when you build one.

Heelntow 2025-09-01 11:36

Any ICE car needs to rev several thousand rpm to achieve its maximum power/torque. The Viper maybe has 200 hp at idle, when the Model 3 has 510 hp at a standstill. I doubt the model 3 hp is under-rated, its just available all the time.

fire_in_the_theater 2025-09-01 21:45

that's cause hp doesn't cover the complex difference in the torque band of a gas vs electric.

Defiant-Bunch-9917 2025-09-13 21:32

It was changed. "For purchases made on or before September 30, 2025, buyers can still qualify under the existing rules. An important clarification from the IRS states that if you enter a binding purchase agreement and make a payment by the deadline, you can still claim the credit even if the vehicle is delivered after September 30. " This is from the IRS website. There is a small amount of hope that it's released before the 30th, ordered and you put a 1000 dollar down payment on it (holding to if Tesla decides to accept payments early for the credit.) The 250 fee does not count the IRS says.

grommet 2025-09-13 21:35

As I said, Tesla doesn’t do any binding contract until the car is ready for delivery.

Defiant-Bunch-9917 2025-09-13 22:34

not yet....They seem to be up for anything lately to squeeze a few more sales out! :)
