As per the [LinkedIn post](https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7351454766939459584?commentUrn=urn%3Ali%3Acomment%3A%28activity%3A7351454766939459584%2C7351829010269552641%29&dashCommentUrn=urn%3Ali%3Afsd_comment%3A%287351829010269552641%2Curn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A7351454766939459584%29), it will be limited to HW4 at first. This will be the first RHD release for FSD, and is just waiting on Tesla to validate it - no regulatory blocks!

EU guy here: When us? 😭 I'm jealous

Same!

FSD makes sooo much sense for Australia. Most of the streets are really good and the speed limit is so low. 100, 110 km/h that driving is mostly really boring. I have been there in February and spent 5000km driving with a Tesla Model 3 from Sixt from Sydney via Dubbo Narabri to Brisbane and Gympie and back. I loved it. Wait if horses are present on bridge might be one of the things FSD should get right.

Talk to your regulators :-/ (I don’t mean Nate Dogg and Warren G)

grmelacz 2025-07-18 18:21

1st question: When? 2nd question: What about HW3?

Nicnl 2025-07-18 18:25

You mean, the UNECE regulators that we didn't vote for? The regulators we don't even know how they got their job? The very ones that seems lobbied into delaying FSD by local carmakers? Would you be surprised if I said... they don't care?

LurkerWithAnAccount 2025-07-18 18:43

Mount up!

singletWarrior 2025-07-18 19:30

Wonder how many bought fsd with hw3

FuzzyFr0g 2025-07-18 20:11

Early 2026

dj_siek 2025-07-18 20:12

Might need to buy It. Wonder if we can subscribe tho

Matt_NZ 2025-07-18 21:36

Most cars here are HW3. Model Y didn't start coming with HW4 until late November 2024, which was the last shipment of Y until the refresh deliveries in May. The 3 has had HW4 since the end of 2023, but it's not a big seller compared to the Y

Matt_NZ 2025-07-18 21:37

NZ and Aus have less regulations...which is why things like NoA and Smart Summon have the same functionality as the US versions here

Nexism 2025-07-18 22:39

Metro roads in Sydney is atrocious for self driving. Sharp turns, unlabelled roads, shit signage that translates into bad GPS directions (ANZAC bridge tunnel?). FSD in Sydney metro specifically is a disaster waiting to happen. Long distance from Sydney to Dubbo, yeah that should be fine.

Me, not concerned. Roll out is staged for validation as usual. I'm likely going interstate in a month but doubt Supervised will reach HW3 by then. Us on HW3 will get v12, but now that Robotaxi is launched the Autopilot team will likely give some attention to bringing these cars up to v13. In terms of refinement, in America v12 is almost the same now as v13, just missing some features such as reverse. Robotaxi is also missing features such as recognising railway tracks.

philupandgo 2025-07-18 23:30

Subscriptions will likely be offered after Supervised goes to wide release on HW3. You could buy EAP now and upgrade to FSD in a few months.

Oxi_Dat_Ion 2025-07-19 01:54

Are they offering retrofits for HW3 to 4?

Oxi_Dat_Ion 2025-07-19 01:59

Had a Model X with the full FSD package way back in 2019 when they were saying FSD is "imminent". Wow. 6 years later... Have since sold that car. Have a HW3 Model Y and 3 and don't plan on purchasing FSD anytime soon. Need to see Definitive evidence of it being released in Aus and it actually being decent.

Matt_NZ 2025-07-19 02:30

I assume what has been talked about in the US will be true gown here...otherwise they may have issues with consumer rights laws

s7orm 2025-07-19 03:22

Elon said something like no retrofits until FSD is 'done' so they know exactly what hardware they have to install once and only once.

Mr-Halfknight 2025-07-19 06:34

Aren’t they part of UNECE as well?

Matt_NZ 2025-07-19 06:42

No

singletWarrior 2025-07-19 07:26

you know HW5 is coming out early next year... i think they might just offer hw3 to 4 to those who bought fsd or refund? depends on how generous elon feels

Oxi_Dat_Ion 2025-07-19 09:13

Is HW5 confirmed?? I thought it was just a rumour

[deleted] 2025-07-19 09:26

There’s something like 10cm between cars on the pacific highway. It’s super unnerving for visitors from places with wide roads. So many of Sydney’s roads are goat tracks, and intense ones too, with semi trailers to delivery riders on bicycles to navigate. Did I mention the roadworks? Yeah. Nah. I’ll be super impressed if FSD can handle Sydney.

trenna5 2025-07-19 12:12

They talked about it on stage. Def coming. As well as hw6 otherwise known as AI6. They didn’t mention timeframes from memory.

Matt_NZ 2025-07-19 12:21

How do the Ranger drivers handle those streets?

RocketRabbit315 2025-07-19 14:35

dang! always those big countries got it i mean in term of land

woek 2025-07-20 07:26

They have been part of WP.29 since 2000 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World\_Forum\_for\_Harmonization\_of\_Vehicle\_Regulations#Participating\_countries)
