I'm very curious on how will this look in practice. Charging stations, traffic, driving habits :) Those camera sensors are in for a treat. Anyone knows if Autopilot will be enabled?

Trying to find somewhere in the world where Elon hasn’t ruined the reputation yet

starkiller_bass 2025-07-15 16:42

... why would anyone keep cars covered in a showroom?

siji4 2025-07-15 16:46

It was an Inauguration/unveiling event.

disergi0 2025-07-15 17:33

why it is covered? do they present a new car?

siji4 2025-07-15 17:34

It was an Inauguration/unveiling event.

zoglog 2025-07-15 18:20

They will try but China is going to crush them when relations normalize.

Stephancevallos905 2025-07-15 20:38

When? Hell has a higher chance of freezing over

paulwesterberg 2025-07-15 20:38

I don't think many will be sold with a 100% import tariff. RWD ₹61,07,190 = $71,017.46 USD LR RWD ₹69,15,190 = $80,413.29 USD Median annual income in India is ₹3,27,600 or $3,809.59 USD.

Confident_Ad_2899 2025-07-15 21:25

And will the autopilot visualization have an icon for a cow?

[deleted] 2025-07-16 00:09

"Unveiling"???? Does no one in India know what a tesla looks like? Lol

[deleted] 2025-07-16 00:09

Unless India offers EV credit lol

Major-Tom-2112 2025-07-16 01:02

Can you pay with google gift cards? If you miss a payment do the they put you behind the bars?

Macklin345 2025-07-16 01:05

Relations between China and India will never normalize. China is actively trying to surround Indian with military outposts by paying for countries that surrounds India to build new ports.

voodooking4400 2025-07-16 01:05

Elon Musk is doing bussiness in Mumbai now...MNS shivsena doesn't have the guts to make him speak in Marathi 😂

I don't think most people outside of India realize that, In India, a car is mostly a luxury vehicle for rich and upper middle class and is not a necessary mode of transportation, unlike US. So looking at median income is irrelevant in India's market Rich and upper middle class are going to go for brand value which tesla has in India and is going to get a lot of sales. Autonomous driving is also irrelevant and non consideration there by buyers.. 60 to 70 lakhs is a decent price for sure. Tesla will be fine as long as they have decent service post sales.

It’s common for cars in India to have upgraded horns so they don’t wear out. The feature to save dashcam footage on horn press may need to be disabled!

Some_Like_It_Hot 2025-07-16 06:08

Seeing virtually and physically is a lot of difference. Unveiling is part of indian culture anyways. You can then say the same about people attending live events in US versus just watching it on YouTube.

cuacuacuac 2025-07-16 06:42

Don't redeem it!

Ok_Transition7785 2025-07-16 11:57

There are 1.5+ billion people in India, just the upper middle and upper class will provide a massive customer base.

krabbypat 2025-07-16 13:45

If traffic in India is anything like in the Philippines, be prepared for tons of park assist chimes and AEB suddenly activating hahah Autopilot is enabled in the PH so it is enabled even on chaotic nations. I mostly use mine on well-marked highways hahah

Otontin 2025-07-16 18:12

You can disable it

isdbull 2025-07-16 18:27

So what was under the cover?

Fit-Somewhere281 2025-07-16 19:17

flip side is most outlets in india are 230v so the charging infrastructure is already there

Fit-Somewhere281 2025-07-16 19:18

No the curveev is selling well in north india and tata is launching their ev soon. the market will boom there as ever outlet is already 230v

[deleted] 2025-07-18 23:36

This car is manufactured in China

FunnyProcedure8522 2025-07-19 04:28

Maybe hard for you to understand but majority of people outside of the US, especially in Asia, don’t give a crap about woke politics. They do admire successful and smart people.

[deleted] 2025-07-19 04:32

You mean they are all douchebags?

FunnyProcedure8522 2025-07-19 15:20

You mean you called people who don’t agree with you douchebags. Pretty clear who’s actually the one.

[deleted] 2025-07-19 18:32

No just the Elon cucks. Especially the non-Americans. Pitiful.

FunnyProcedure8522 2025-07-19 19:48

thanks for just proving my point
