Feels like camo is not needed lol. New rims, new carbon fiber spoiler, red calipers, lowered suspension.
oh, a performance y.
Sure looks like a Y performance! Love those wheels! Where do I sign up. Elon might be crazy but Teslas are the best electric vehicles out there! ‘Nuff said!
Those rims look like the Model S 21" rims.
Those are some sweet rims.
MYP always looks great
The stretched ultra low profile tires. Why?
Are the bumpers different at all? Seems like it just has the painted calipers, bigger wheels, and a spoiler?
As an owner of a Model S, they look nothing like the 21s on that car.
Why theybuse those wraps for hiding vehicles?
Lower profile means stiffer sidewalls which means better cornering grip because the tire compresses less. And yes, it also means a rougher ride.
No change to bumpers.

Hurry up and drop it!!
So ugly
Nobody gonna talk about the NURBRUGRING!
Why cover it? All Teslas look exactly the same as does this one.

Not exactly, look at nascar, Indy, f1, wrc, basically any actual race cars, the tires will have a larger sidewall. Look at any spec class or challenge and race prepped set ups will have larger sidewalls. What you are seeing is a byproduct of a larger wheel, that’s what people want aesthetically. The treadwear (grip) on the majority of “low pro” tires is for general commuting. Basically, it looks sporty, but isn’t, can be, but actual race tires/cars perform better with larger sidewalks. Source: own shop in automotive field. Work with anything from a Tesla commuter to million dollar race cars.
At least one SpaceX employee [disagrees](https://in.mashable.com/science/94212/spacex-engineer-requests-ceo-elon-musk-to-come-back-to-building-rockets-morale-is-low). Musk may be a crappy person with some real negatives, but he's still central to the success of SpaceX in particular, especially in terms of being that guiding light that funnels the engineering efforts in the right direction. You can dislike the man whilst still respecting what they can guide others to achieve - same as with Steve Jobs and other visionaries who were challenging in their personal lives.
The super fans like us in the sub can tell it’s the new performance model, it has a wrapped carbon fiber spoiler from the looks of it
Steve Jobs died a hero, where Elon Musk became a villain.
The 21 inch rims have always been a no-go for me. If they don't offer 20 inch as a no cost option, I'm out.
WHY THE STRETCHED RUBBER?!??! I have an M3P and the rims just piss me off. Can't go up curbs to parallel park, so half the parking spots are gone for me. M3P is homologated with 235 and 245, guess which one it comes with? Yes, the 235...wtf. (and yes, you can get other tires, but not the winter tires as the chains only fit the 235)
To get more hype, basically clickbait. Less attention if was just a performance Model Y on the track with little possibility that anyone noticed the new rims.
I believe the generally accepted plan is don’t go bigger than 18s unless they’re necessary to fit the brakes you need, right? But then again cars went and got way too heavy to belong on the track and brakes just keep getting bigger to keep up…
You really ought to learn how to parallel park with out touch the curb
The Highland M3 looks slightly different than the Highland M3P
Performance???🤔
Sick rims!
Oh I can park nicely, but we have narrow streets and the majority of parking spots are designed so you have two wheels ON THE curb.
Yes sure does. The old Y looks so vanilla boring and cheap unless its the MYP. Especially all the base models running around with those tacky silver wheel covers. The old MYP was just perfect how it is. The lowered stance, the bigger staggered wheels, red calipers, cf spoiler. I'm sure the juniper version will be even better.
For the bling factor, if you want to go racing it's well know in the model 3 world everyone changes to a 18 or 19 inch
Go look at any actual race car, gt3, gt2, f2, f1, Indy etc. you reach diminishing returns quickly before you get to 21/22 inch wheels and ultra thin profile tires. On a performance street car big wheels thin side wall is all negative, zero positive attributes. Only subjective looks. Generally speaking the trade off for bigger heavier wheels is to fit the bigger brakes, but we know teslas don’t actually need 21 inch wheels for their shitty brakes.
The new Model Y Performance looks very good. Those great wheels and slightly aggressive bumpers will make it stand out from the regular Model Y Long Range!
Yep a few mm different.
I'd like to see if they could try a version of FSD on Nürburgring.
If they put the LG battery in it...
Now show the long wheelbase 6-seater please 🙏
I thought this was already out for sale
Seems like the new Y performance id guess
Spoiler doesn’t look any more prominent than LR to me. Was noticing them yesterday at the Tesla place
WOULD
Unless you can get it with 19" or 20" wheels and a actually adjustable rear suspension to get rid of the excessive (tire eating) camber I am not very interested.
On Teslas at least, 18s are ideal for range and comfort. Better cornering is about tire width, not depth. Mine came stock with stretched 235s on the 19 inch wheels. I put on a wider and taller 'EV' tire and everything got better.
I put a taller wider tire on mine and grip went up.
18s are only available on Model 3. Every other model starts bigger.

I still hate the look of the new Model Y. It’s looks like a Honda EV.
That’s just a wrap
Jobs was almost as much of an ass as Elon. Horrible person all around.
Hope it breaks 300 mile range.
Model 3 performance looks way cooler than stock imo, but that might just be me
Juniper
idk why but this reminded me of the Model S Plaid with active wing that we never got.
Yes, they’re different
Look like the BMW performance rims 😍
I actually really like the dark Gemini wheels and covers, but I agree on the silver Gemini
It looks like the tires are wider than the rims? No more curb rash?!
yay for destroying the environment with cobalt and lithium mining!!!
Beautiful
I wasn’t a big fan of the front fascia of the Juniper but something is drawing me more and more to this one for some reason. Maybe cause it looks better lowered?
Lower profile tires with smaller sidewalls allows for less flex and play, causing the car to be more predictable and controllable. This is the reason why TRACK cars, not indy or wrc... generally try to run stiffer and smaller sidewalls. HOWEVER, this is really a fine mixture between rim size, caliper clearance and what you can actually fit in the wheel well.
Of course, there is more contact between the road and the tire. More surface area to grip.
If you want performance, it's 15s or 16s depending on what size tire you can get for what you need. Rally wheels are 15, the majority of drag radials are 15 or 16.
in this case when you say "performance" you mean "acceleration" right?
I live by Giga TX. Saw one of these with no plates on US roadway and was confused. Going to look for more and snap a pic
Agree with all of that but adding bent wheels and blowouts are in your future too with these rubber bands. I have never understood a tire with that low of a profile. I too work on cars, have/had all kinds of fun ones and never put something like this on my stuff. Coilovers, sure but tires like this…absolutely not. I want a little meat on the bone.
What changes direction better, more weight or less weight? What is easier to compensate for, sprung Mass or unsprung Mass? Is it easier to tune a suspension and make it compliant with more side wall, or with less? I mean performance. I mean everything that makes a car perform.
I literally spent 5 minutes trying to figure out in what way the rims resemble the shape of a Model Y. I'm so dumb
Drove the 2026 Y last weekend. I wish I didn't because it was the first tesla I've ever driven and now I want to make the worst financial decision of my life 🙃 went back today and drove it again. FSD was next level, still can't stop thinking about it. Hoping to find a used one before the end of the year.
Seems the same. Wished they would push SolidState batteries like yesterday. We seriously need better batteries. China is beating is there.
Tesla rims usually look like shit. These aren't bad. No BMW rims, but good enough.
Thats the point of the camouflage. You can't see the lines or the detail yet.
They look like the Lexus LFA Wheels 😍
It can also mean less towing capacity, weight wise. I took the standard wheels for our Y since I wanted to use a bike carrier. Low profile tyres would've left me with 20 kg of capacity compared to, I think, 60 kg.
Rims looks good, but I bet they will reduce range so badly
Judging from the sidewall, the tires seem to be the recently released Pirelli P-Zero PZ5. The fifth-gen of the P-Zero which improves upon the PZ4 used previous on the 3/Y Performance. [https://www.pirelli.com/tyres/en-ww/car/catalogue/product/p-zero-5](https://www.pirelli.com/tyres/en-ww/car/catalogue/product/p-zero-5) Assuming the tire size is the same as the previous MYP, the PZ5 is available in both 255/35R21 and 275/35R21.
When my wife and I test drove a Tesla for the first time years ago, we had a massive paradigm shift toward cars as well. We're happy Tesla owners ever since. You won't regret it.
Rims are sick. When my lease is up on my 3, def getting this MYP
Well, the flip side of the argument is that all of the competitions mentioned above have rim diameter limits. It is possible the road races will go for bigger rims if permitted to do so. But agreed, lower profile tires on commuter-oriented cars are a bad trend.
I just saw one on the road and I thought it was the new prius but it looked too big. After closer inspection I realized I was a model y. Never seen one looks like it before
LOVE those wheels!
I'm guessing Tesla found a low hanging fruit lap record they can set for marketing. Something like 'fastest 4wd electric mini SUV' or something. Edit: Yup, there's no electric SUV record yet.
Great disguise!! 🙈
its a perfromance car lmao what did you expect? ?????????
Wider tires for better grip. Most performance cars do not stretch the tire, except drifters who do stretching and oni-camber to reduce grip in the rear.
Mine were pristine til 40,000km, then I curbed 2 of them badly :(
New Model Y performance
Model y redesign

Saw this in person at a charger in Nashville. Super nice!
Also charges in the front.
Door handles pop out like the model s too
Just saw one driving without camo on nyc streets. Idk if I like it yet… defo more so than the previous look.
I currently drive a Model 3 and have been really happy with it, but after test driving the refreshed Model Y, I’m pretty sure my next car will be that one. And now that I’ve seen the new Performance version… yeah, I think that’s the one I’m going for.
If they add the option to have 18-19" wheels thatd be great
