So it's just black but they added glitter to it?

So basically the same crappy black they had before that would chip by just staring at it.

If you mean the formerly free black, that was flat. This has metallic sparkles in it. God help your wallet if you ever need to re-spray a panel.

For the original Model 3 launch, there was also Obsidian Black. This looks to be coming back again

I didn’t really like modern Tesla’s black because it had no depth. This is a welcome change.

Why I hate their white. Makes them look like eggs

This will go nicely with their ten different shades of grey.

The pearl white does have a pearlescent shine to it but only when it’s absolutely clean lmao

I bought mine with a matte wrap on it, it looks so much cleaner than whatever paint Tesla uses. I dread the day it has to come off, or be replaced 😂

No wonder yours looks like an “egg” then lmfao. Mine looks perfectly fine, matte will tend to look dirtier faster anyways based on all the matte grey and blacks I’ve seen.

I was referring to the regular color. You can see a picture of mine on my profile, it's still white and egg-ish but I vastly prefer it to the factory paint underneath

Yea very noticeable, the black looks flat and boring compared to it.

Do you mean the old black looks boring? I am considering this color but want it to look black not a glittery black (dont mind the gloss) Wish they shared more pictures so that we can make a more informed choice while ordering (there are no cars in this color in showrooms here in Texas)

Exactly, this is the same as the old Obsidian Black that was available for about 3 months at the model 3 launch in 2018.

Yea the old black, they still had a sample of the black on the wall with the other colors, and I looked at it, and was like this isn’t what’s on the wall. From far away I couldn’t notice, the car looked like dark charcoal color. I even asked the guy the color, but don’t remember what he said, maybe it was before the announcement so he wasn’t clear. When I got close, the sparkles in the paint were noticeable. I just remember it looked really good, but didn’t realize it was a whole new color until seeing this thread.

Man, I wish they'd bring back regular old silver. I see a silver Model 3 every now and again and it looks sweet.
