I was wondering when it would show up there. Thanks

vadimus_ca 2025-02-03 13:00

They finally updated HVAC screen, no longer showing pre-2020 console

Alternative_Buy2866 2025-02-03 13:02

Noticed option for matrix led lights - is this something also on old Y (I don’t have old Y to compare too)

spatel14 2025-02-03 13:08

I don’t think that’s an option available in the US yet due to regulations but all newer Tesla’s have matrix LED lights

Does it have the same hardware as the CT?

Alternative_Buy2866 2025-02-03 13:38

Supposedly yes - HW4

_casshern_ 2025-02-03 14:01

For creep-hold-roll, what’s the behaviour now?

The old Y has matrix headlights. What it does not have (yet) is a way to make them adaptive in the US. Europe allows adaptive headlights; the US just introduced new regulations for them and no one yet complies.

kataclzmik 2025-02-03 15:11

Rivian has fully functional adaptive matrix headlights that comply for US. The F150 Lightning does as well. Idk why Tesla “activated them” in US but limited them to adjust for curves but no other functionality it’s tbh pretty hard to tell if they do or not but it’s an option available in US also

dancingjake 2025-02-03 15:24

Some MY have matrix, some do not. My June 2023 model did not.

SkyCaptainStarr 2025-02-03 15:28

After extensive review, I can confirm this is indeed the Model Y user interface.

_casshern_ 2025-02-03 15:32

Thanks! I’m coming from an older car so wasn’t sure what the behaviour was now.

Nakatomi2010 2025-02-03 15:34

Neat

TerrysClavicle 2025-02-03 15:53

Yours is probably an Austin. My 12/22 Fremont (MY 23 MY) has matrix and performance 980

BikebutnotBeast 2025-02-03 15:55

Theres a front bumper camera in Cybertruck and Juniper. Not highland and not MY 23/24. Reports are now calling it HW4.1.

Hugedownload 2025-02-03 16:02

Nice looking at a model Y today, looking for a new car, first EV.

YERAFIREARMS 2025-02-03 16:11

The vehicle menu should pop up on the left side of the screen and the car view should move to the right. This way, it is easier for the user to reach the "LCD buttons".

[deleted] 2025-02-03 17:38

Hvac screen has been like that for like 6 months

[deleted] 2025-02-03 17:40

It's the exact same as a 24 they just change the car

vadimus_ca 2025-02-03 17:45

I'm not talking about actual controls shuffled around. Note the phone charging area. On my 2024 MYLR is still shows the old style pad like on original M3 and MY builds (with the lid).

[deleted] 2025-02-03 17:58

Yea sure buddy

PerfectBad2505 2025-02-03 18:08

Is there something innovative about this menu and options? My 5 year old BMW (seemingly?) has all the same options, except I can also use them through physical buttons. Or is the difference more in the level of customisation? Serious question

_casshern_ 2025-02-03 18:29

I don’t think OP claimed it was innovative. He just showed what the menu is like. That said most items on the menu don’t need to, and probably shouldn’t be accessed while driving. For example, changing the charging schedule. So there’s no need for physical buttons. If you are concerned about things like adjusting heat on a screen, you can use voice commands.

psaux_grep 2025-02-03 19:27

They’re adaptive in the US too, but limited to cornering. Only on the cars with supported hardware. What I saw and liked here was a new traction control mode called «slippery surface». Hope they roll that out to the rest of the fleet.

psaux_grep 2025-02-03 19:29

Because they didn’t comply with US regulation. Tesla took a bet prior to regulation allowing it. Rivian waited for the spec and then released a compliant product. Tesla is probably stuck with a contract saying they’re buying «this many» units at such a such price.

skifri 2025-02-03 19:36

I thought the port for the bumper cam existed on the existing Model Y's HW4 computer.. Not sure about the wire harness (probably not) Definitely not the camera...

ObeseSnake 2025-02-03 20:19

The driver isn't the only one that can use the controls. Also the car view has touch controls.

BikebutnotBeast 2025-02-03 20:29

So my understanding is the computer has a connector and that's it. But I'm not sure how the front bumper washer is powered or controlled. Could be really interesting midyear when the more affordable options happen.

dogswallops 2025-02-03 20:55

Oh look… a sasticar

griffd 2025-02-03 21:37

There are so many wrong settings set on this car, it's stressful to watch. :)

CrysisDeu 2025-02-03 22:14

I always wondered. With EVs, wouldn’t it be a good idea to convert the gas and break paddle to accelerate and decelerate paddles. Pressing either changes the speed target, and the motors and brakes finds a way to reach that.

Competitive_Bad_959 2025-02-04 00:22

So can you turn off the middle light bar or not

But with two pedals, you got double the travel distance to control your car’s speed changes. You can press the pedal a little to test how much speed is increased and decreased, and gradually increase the force. With one pedal, you have to guess/ feel where is the middle point

Didn’t show how to turn off the front light bar. I’ve seen a video where it was off and just the outer part on

YERAFIREARMS 2025-02-04 11:02

The passenger can"scroll right" the 2 panels in effect moving the menu pannel to his side.

Illustrious-Tune6083 2025-02-04 13:23

Does someone know if the camera is shifting with the gears? So if you go forward is also the front camera on display - and if you shift backwards ist the rear camera automatically in the screen?

ZenZen_Car 2025-02-04 16:38

The headlight shine thing on the screen lllooks really odd

ZealousidealExam640 2025-02-04 23:34

Why doesn’t the Highland have Deceleration and Traction Control Mode options under the Dynamics menu? Is there a technical reason? Is it something that could be added in an update?

[deleted] 2025-02-05 00:09

Nope

[deleted] 2025-02-05 00:10

It's a demo car. People mess around. No one is taking it out for a drive. Plus no setting is "wrong". You may use a different setting and that's okay.

TW624 2025-02-05 02:03

Someone last week mentioned you can turn off the light bar, clearly from this video you cannot, at least from the lights menu.

FloranSsstab 2025-02-05 02:35

Pretty sure any of that stuff is reserved for the Performance model. Especially traction control. Normal Highland just has slip start setting for slippery surfaces...

nah_you_good 2025-02-05 04:26

Traction mode is a Model Y/X thing. The 3/S have only the slip start option for use of stuck.

ZealousidealExam640 2025-02-05 11:29

Martbern 2025-02-05 11:47

Wow, crazy

griffd 2025-02-05 14:25

No, they're wrong and they bother me. Now please excuse me while I call in my OCD prescription.

PresentationMajor925 2025-02-05 19:18

Are they using the same Ryzen processors?

Flipslips 2025-03-08 20:46

I know it’s been a while but yes that’s how the camera works on this.
