This will please all the light bar haters. And a nice way for tesla to shift the older units- still a great deal for the customer.
Sub 40k LR AWD with 11k MA+Fed incentives after tax That’s pretty amazing
People are silly not to buy now and wait for the refresh.. which is slightly better but also will have a ton of issues at least the first year. My bud has a new model 3 and has issues on a weekly basis with squeaks and noises
Still more than it was in Dec 2023 when I got a blue white interior awd lr for $45,400 in Cali before the $7500 Demand must still be high enough to not be in any rush since they’re selling every car they make.
I got a new 3 and just had a bad sensor that was replaced.
No more fed incentive, the funding ran out! https://tc.canada.ca/en/road-transportation/innovative-technologies/zero-emission-vehicles/incentives-zero-emission-vehicles/questions-answers
That's Canada...?
Nevermind, I see you mention MA incentives as well. The article link is to drive Tesla Canada, so I just assumed. Sorry, eh?
No 0% financing so don’t care
Ah I just looked it up as if I was buying (another)
In Canada, the MY now gets $4000 off inventory, but because they raised the price by $1000 it doesn't qualify for the federal iZEV incentive anymore, which makes it $5000 more expensive.
As someone that is on the lookout for a used MY for dirt cheap, this is great news. Not in the financial position to buy a brand new car that will depreciate 50% in 2 years, these these price cuts means the used market will also be affected.
Had the S for like 7 years before the 3 highland. Removal of blinker was worst thing that happened in a city with a lot round a bouts. It got lemoned within 4 month for a sensor issue they couldnt fix. Hope juniper wont be as bad when my current lease is over i may look at Tesla again.
This is me rn trying to get model y 2023 for 30k
Test drove model 3 2025 and “old” model y 2025 - as a car person it took all but 1 minute to get out of the y and buy the 3. Day and night difference. Seats and suspension alone is enough.
Not sure thats the reason. I think the izev is done
Looks only be $800 off where I live which isn't much. In October, I scored 0% financing, a $3,760 inventory discount, and $500 loyalty discount off a new red MYLR.
Hell yeah. I'm personally going for a `22 under $25K so I can cash in that EV credit. They're out there, but I thousands of miles away.
The iZEV program $$ is depleted, the incentive has been paused early [as per transport Canada](https://tc.canada.ca/en/road-transportation/innovative-technologies/zero-emission-vehicles/incentives-zero-emission-vehicles/questions-answers)
It doesn't qualify *and* iZEV is out of funding for this round. It doesn't mean it's gone forever.
I'm looking for a 22 or 23 anything to avoid?
[deleted]
I have a new model 3 and have no issues. Bought one of the first long range rwd in August 2024.
can get a model y performance for the same price i paid for a model 3lrrwd 6 years ago. crazy
Yeah, I did the same thing with my Model 3 because of the lack of stalks on the Highland, right before Highland was released. Very nice deals there too.
Heck of a deal.
Haha yeah for sure this vehicle was designed with Asia pacífic in mindwhere the LB is on almost every vehicle. Not so much in NA.
I was pumped until the computer shorted haha. But after six weeks, it's fixed and the car rocks.
I got mine in ca around the same time. Was that the best time? I got referral bonus free supercharging plus the free supercharging that came with the new car. 4k off inventory discount as well. But it was standard color and interior.
23 has the updated suspension. That'd be my biggest to choose 23 over 22.
You can pay like $700 for private companies to send the car to you.
Yep, am aware. Not in any real rush; the cheaper the better, but it might be what I have to do, unless I decide to couple it with a trip of sorts.
Didn't even know sweet
I haven’t seen the price drop as low as it was in the second half of Dec 2023 since. It came close about 4 months later, but never matched it. Mine also came with 6 months of free supercharging.
I've been checking in on their used prices, and for some reason it seems like those keep going up the past couple months
Is there any evidence of that beyond your buddy? I'm not saying there were or weren't issues, but your buddies personal experience isn't exactly evidence lol
In the US at least leasing is the only way to get the $7,500 cap cost reduction if you’re above the income threshold. So if you’re leasing you can stack that plus inventory reduction plus loyalty bonus if you already have a Tesla and get a brand new MYP for like $42k.
Doubtful, especially if the conservative get majority.
Cool? I don’t see how any of that matters to my comment lol
Why do the 0-60 times keep changing?
Ain’t about the light bar for me, simply about ride comfort and noise. Cannot wait for the new model Y it will be so much better.
Edit: wrong thread. But yeah, totally worth it
Based on the sales numbers you are not alone. The refreshed y will sell well and clearly the old y was affected by people waiting for the release. Many people will be happy im sure.
Just FYI, this is not the best offer they had on model Y. So don't pull the trigger if you think it is, ALSO Model Y refresh is a week or 2 away.
Is this usually the best they offer in Canada, if we compare it with the inventory discounts before highland?
Exactly, it was a better deal a few months ago.
I'm the opposite, have been waiting for a bigger inventory discount instead of 0% financing since I'd be trading in another Model Y so the difference isn't huge after the tax credits are applied.
I suspect if the iZEV did come back they'd just lower the msrp lol.
Honestly, I don't think they think that much about us. I think as the Canadian dollar depreciated versus the USD they raised the price to keep revenue up.
I bought a 2023 MYP in December 2023 for $4800 inventory discount (it was NOT a demo) and the $7500 credit. This doesn’t seem like a lot of incentive if the launch is truly imminent.
Get another one as a backup 😂
new model y is going to make the current one look dated as the highland did with the now old model 3.
Know people who paid those ridiculous prices. what was it for the MYP- $70K? Then they woke up one day and it was $40-50K. Many are on this sub just raging when a reminder like this post triggers it
Yeah but these discounts aren’t even as good as some were during the 0%
I just bought one last week doh lol
Guys, advice where to buy used parts in California?
Rather have the ugly lightbar than not have ventilated seats.
Happened to a lot of people. Mine shorted too. Unfortunately it was caused by a bad update and they made some people who were out of warranty pay out of pocket. I know someone who paid around 3500
You say clearly but you have no idea. There’s nothing to show that it will be a spike.
Cool.
week or 2? I feel like if it follows Model 3 trajectory we won't be seeing orders being placed until March-April
There is evidence of a rush on the new y coming out of china.
We'll see... that's my guess.
Likely adjusted for daylight saving.
[deleted]
Yeah, I think there are more deals to come, unless they just let inventory dry up well in advance of the refresh.
Maybe a few weeks from a US announcement, but unlikely to be shipping that quickly. Even in China deliveries aren’t starting until March.
I believe everyone and their mothers would be waiting for a nice aftermarket tail light 😂
[deleted]
I’ll wait for the juniper.
Same camp. I could care less. Lot of quality of life features with the new updates are great. Quieter cabin and a better suspension with ventilated seats are a must and great for the update. Just overall more practical than the outgoing version
These are about to look so outdated
Is Tesla allowing lease buyouts now?
Not to mention it will make the current Y model prices plummet on the used market
[removed]
Yes. At the end of the lease only though (so you can’t lease and turnaround and buy a month later).
[deleted]
Saw this post and bought. Thanks!
Yeah, but it’s not Tesla’s fault that the government stopped the program.
I live in Phoenix and the best I’ve seen is $500 off, what am I missing here
I heard some people already took delivery in China. But yeah sort of a presale.
I feel like an idiot for even considering it. Glad I didn’t pull the trigger when the prices were that high. I can’t imagine making a $1,400 car payment on a Model Y
hey Elon if u are reading i got a overpriced MYP 2022 are there Any free hardware upgrades? steam and rear screen?
Any chance of FSD transfer from existing Tesla?
I’ve owned my model 3 since 2018, about 55k miles Ive put one set of tires on it. (Probably due for another soon) Had the low voltage battery replaced twice (once under warranty, other time was ~$100?) And refilled the washer fluid myself. Other than that, no service. (Excluding some body work where I was rear ended)
Why so stuck on an interest rate? At the end of the day, there will be a total cost if you finance. Two dials. Interest rate and amount borrowed. If amount borrowed is lower than a higher price with your desired 0% interest rate. It could still cost more.
I don't know, the website says the program was supposed to "conclude" March 31, 2025, or when funds were depleted. Even so, with the Cons set to win the next election, I doubt it's coming back anytime soon, if ever.
Earlier adapters have some benefited from fuel and maintenance savings. https://preview.redd.it/faf6xh3aznde1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31bcc6fcd71b05bbcd1803d931faeec1d2d36a4f
Brakes should be much lower in Tesla, you barely ever touch the brake pedal, so they don’t get much wear on the pads. Tires would be higher in Tesla - they make tires specifically to handle the weight of the vehicle, but they do seem to still wear faster. Especially on the RWD Where I am hydro is much cheaper per month than fuel would be for a similar sized vehicle. I’m at 70k and just buying new tires now (but I use winter tires for 3 months ish of the year). No other maintenance besides a seat sensor issue covered by warranty. And replacing the air filter for the HVAC ($60)
Those stats seem incredibly inflated. I have 83,000 miles on my 2021 Model Y.. and by my estimation I’ve saved around $10,000 vs the gas & regular maintenance routine on my previous vehicle which was a 2018 Honda CRV which averaged 28.8mpg lifetime. That’s before I get to the part where my Model Y is now worth atleast $30,000 less than what I paid for it new in April 2021 (I paid $27,700 for the CRV when new btw).. Or that my insurance has literally doubled in price over the CRV. For the most part.. any actual “savings” have been non-existent when you consider all the factors. That said the Tesla has been fun to own.. and it’s been a cool experience.
Not mad at all,, just marvelling at the fact! And wishing I was in a position to take advantage of the deal, lol
They now take your time zone into account as well.
You are correct. I distinctly remember shopping for a Tesla when the Model Y LR AWD was $66k and the MYP was $70k. I chose the $47k Model 3 instead. Still got hosed by the depreciation, but more to the tune of $25k rather than $35-40k.
Make existing supercharging transferable and I’ll pick up one of the old models!
So you end up paying interest during lease time?
Y ? You paid market price at the time?
How much is your insurance roughly? Or a differential compared to prior ICE insurance you paid in the past?
Been starting to consider now as the 7500 may be under threat. I guess I don't mind the new look though I am somewhat attached to the fish mouth by now. But either way will probably just go for an inventory model.
Or the price will skyrocket as light bar hatred spreads like a wildfire. Protests will erupt everywhere against the light bar refresh. Governments will collapse as people take to the streets in protest and leaders are forced to resign under the pressure. Unsold pre-Juniper units will go for millions. New generational wealth, the likes of the Rockefellers, will be seen by those who hold Model Ys without the light bar. Probably.
how do you see inventory discount? I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a tesla but if I see deals coming I may hold off a little longer.
Not the only way, but most other ways aren’t possible for most people.
Or it’s canadian. Far cheaper power and pricier gas
where do you go to see this. is it on the Tesla app or on the car itself. And if so where do I click. thanks!
A lot of people who buy a Tesla come from smaller, often very old cars. There are no savings there. But it’s so much nicer to drive….
😂😂😂😂😂
Correct. There's re based on Canadian driving.
The cost is in Canadian $.
Lower Interest rates would have offset a little bit of the cost
They don't do that, unfortunately.
Hoping they bring it back as incentive like they did in Dec.
I think the new model Y makes the current one almost look good.
Never buy the old outgoing model.
Allow FSD transfer always...
I bought a Y in 2020. Think I paid 68k… 6 years at 2.25%. Sold it last year and was $3k in the black. Rolled that into a 2 year lease on a ‘24 MY (with the $7,500 tax credit). This way I rolled the resale risk back on Tesla, and plan on leaving the Tesla ecosystem when the lease is up, now that everything can use the supercharger network. So yeah, not bad.
The light bar is cool. Can’t get over the Prius rear end
I had a v8 so yeah…
Still not buying electric.
Basically every new product sells at first. That doesn’t really indicate long term success. Though I’m sure it will be a high selling car.
Brand new Y performance is now less than I paid for a used 2019 m3p in 2021 😭
Ehh I really like how the kona is because they didn't cheap out and make it into many different pieces. On the model Y not only did they break it up into 3 for no reason, but also they made the shape weird. On the rear it makes sense to break up a light bar because of the functionality of a tailgate. But on the Model Y is looks downright cheap. The Kona looks okay/good. Lots of other cars also have bad headlight bar designs like every mercedes, seltos, escape, lightning, equiox/blazer ev etc. Even car's like the rivian look meh but not bad per say.
> Unfortunately it was caused by a bad update and they made some people who were out of warranty pay out of pocket. Damn. No customer protection there? In my region it'd be covered for five years if it was a manufacturers fault, no matter the mileage.
[deleted]
With the new model Y, it has screen at the rear passenger side, which is a game changer for me (especially if you have kids)
No FUSC transfer, no purchase.
Completely valid haha. It would be easy to cover or replace aftermarket if it's already split into 3 pieces.
I haven’t heard of loyalty bonus, can you explain?
They refused to admit it was a fault even when provided proof. This happened before the recall.
The Y is one of the best selling cars year after year. You think that is going to stop with the refresh?
Been weighing on this more now that the $7,500 may go away soon. To me I would either purchase a LR Y AWD or a dual motor Equinox. Equinox seems to be 4kish cheaper, but the Y has higher charging speed (and not having to use an adapter or deal with CCS), some more range, more storage, better app and software in general. I rented out a 3 for work to get a longer test drive, but haven't been able to drive the Y yet. So I'm not familiar if the Y has a heated steering wheel (though I would imagine it does), compared to if the equinox does, and some smaller conveniences like that. If anyone else knows some general comparisons that would help me out.
I'm about to pull the trigger in MA on a LR AWD, is now the time or is there a chance they discount further in a week? Also are inventory (on the lot) discounts you negotiate or they apply automatically in the build configurator? It my first time looking at tesla
I'm debating on leasing or financing a MY or M3. My gut is telling me to go lease, but there's the whole wasted money issue as opposed to owning.
Just ordered a lr. Wanted to get in before the 7500 goes bye bye.
Yea this isn't a great deal... I would rather buy hybrid or used SUV. This is insane pricing.... I would purchase this if the price drops below 45k brand new. With high interest rate, I want cash pricing and i ain't about to drop 70k for a car.
that is completely untrue. They aren't getting them until sometime in March-April. Where did you "hear" this?
x... https://x.com/blueskykites/status/1882513964829213094
Yeah those are for the showroom. Actual deliveries won't happen for a little while.
The model y refresh look is more drastic. I have to look twice at a refreshed model 3 to see the difference. More so even with the darker colors.
