The front light bar, I like this update more than the highland.

acaurora 2025-01-10 01:36

I'm a bit mixed. I like the upgraded wheels, they remind me of a mix of the pre-Highland sport and Highland sport wheels. The rear 3/4 looks nice. I am not really a fan of the front for some reason. Other notable features - power folding rear seats and a front camera!

Front camera, very nice. Can't wait to see some test drive videos.

It launched in Australia too but without one, so not sure what that means: https://www.tesla.com/en_au/modely

reeefur 2025-01-10 01:44

Guessing they may need it in China for certain approvals or requirements for FSD there?

jinjuu 2025-01-10 01:45

The camera isn't on the [Australia Model Y](https://www.tesla.com/en_au/modely). They pulled this shit with Highland, I don't know what their goal is. I'm guessing they're going to remove it on the Chinese photos soon, just like they did with Highland.

DuneProphecy 2025-01-10 01:48

Looks great, model 3 needs light bar now.

ttzee 2025-01-10 01:50

If you scroll down on the Australia site it’s there. https://preview.redd.it/udmkgqn6o2ce1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8219668475460012acbe69c943ec061b8979167

jinjuu 2025-01-10 01:51

That could just be referring to the cameras behind the mirror.

Tesla always talks about the sensors powering Autopilot. That whole section of the page is just recapping FSD information. That the car has FSD, it's got blind spot monitoring, and that it has cameras. I mean, I hope you're right. I'm just negative about the whole thing because we've been through this rodeo twice already between the Highland and refreshed Model X.

tashtibet 2025-01-10 02:23

I already have 2023 MY and just at the end of 2024 bought M3 Highland to get all the incentives both Fed & Colorado-planned to trade in for Juniper MY-really excited!

TigglyWiggly95 2025-01-10 02:34

States only 5 seater right now too. I am sure review videos will come out soon too.

aaayyyuuussshhh 2025-01-10 03:57

I'm the opposite. Highland was simple and nice update. This Model Y has way too much chinese vehicle influence. I don't understand why the lightbar is split into 3 segments. Make the entire front end seem cheap

Lots of RoboTaxi design cues.

ScrubMopAgain 2025-01-10 07:48

Front light bar: Cybertruck, Cybercab, & Model Y Juniper . Roadster 2.0 type headlights: Model 3 Highland & Roadster 2.0

ScrubMopAgain 2025-01-10 07:50

Model 3 has roadster 2.0 -like headlights which are great imo

Electrical_Quality_6 2025-01-10 08:49

It’s insanely beautiful, Those lucky 🍀 Chinese 🇨🇳

[deleted] 2025-01-10 09:12

True although I think they will still give the M3 the same design language at some point which will mark the roadster design as obsolete. On a side note, if they haven’t announced the Roadster which such ridiculous figures, they could have already released it based on the M3P with the Plaid Motor and call it a day.

esso42 2025-01-10 09:47

If you check the pictures on the website closely; you can see a camera in the front bumper. Tho the refreshed Model 3 also had it on lunch and they removed it shortly after

RocketRabbit315 2025-01-10 09:58

i guess it launch everywhere that import the car from giga shanghai as it is also launch in malaysian market as ours are import from giga shanghai edit: same goes to model 3 in 2023

RocketRabbit315 2025-01-10 10:00

ya! i thought that would only happen on the upcoming model Q as it would likely share platform with cybercab

Smooth-Stage-3590 2025-01-10 11:37

in Australia all colours are free! And in model 3 for the other colours you have to pay extra

Dmiller360 2025-01-10 23:17

I would guess that if a light is dinged or damaged you would need to replace everything, just that section?

leeson865 2025-01-10 23:45

https://youtu.be/LegePE9hb0Q?si=uRUvQJVGBEvZxLEw This guy runs through the whole Australia press release given by Tesla to Australian press. It specifically calls out that a front bumper camera has been added. They also clarified the stalk has been introduced based on customer feedback. Let's goooo!

leeson865 2025-01-10 23:45

It's written as front bumper camera in the press release: https://youtu.be/LegePE9hb0Q?si=uRUvQJVGBEvZxLEw
