Tesla is rolling out a new feature in their app that allows you to select an "area of concern" for service.

This has been in the app for a couple weeks now. I interacted with this to request new tires. When you request new tires, you get the option to highlight which tires you want, and then they offer you a selection of options for tires. At check you you have the option to add $100 per tire "Oh shit" insurance to it.

I saw something similar when I made an insurance claim As well

I wish they would've offered me road hazard on the factory tires when I bought my Model Y. I got an unfixable puncture from a nail with 56 miles on the odometer last year. I got tire certificates from Discount Tire for the remaining 3, plus a replacement tire. I've had to get 3 punctures repaired in just over a year. Luckily they didn't require a replacement since those tires have to be ordered and are expensive.

I've bought a Tesla three times. Each time the tires pick something up that requires patching or replacing. They're super grippy tires

Interesting how they have select areas. What if your area of concern is not one of those dots?

Hundreds of millions of cars have no camera/radar/lidar/ultrasonic and yet you trust that human to drive it. And there's millions of accidents in those human controlled cars every year.

$100 per tire is a rip off. Americas Tire / Discount Tire / etc is much cheaper than that - and you don't have to buy the tires from them.

or just get new tires from a good tire place that offers it to you as part of buying from them

Since the 2024.32 update mine has been working perfectly.

It's mostly chance. Three punctures in a month then none for ten years. Keep some money just out of reach to cover random stuff.

Well it already updated to 2024.38 and it still works. So maybe it will stay this way.

Can I select the Tesla company and their inability to provide replacement parts as an area of concern? 😅 My car is stranded for almost 2 months now, waiting for a new inverter

I got my tires from discount tire and it was about $1700 whereas they would have cost $3000 at Tesla, and discount will swap out your tires for free for the life of your tires if you have summer and winter tires. 👍🏼

Interesting. I had a seat sensor failure that I had to bring to the service center twice before the Service Manager could convince the tech to go ahead and replace the seat sensor after they couldn't replicate the problem. I would get out of the car, walk away, but the car would still be on. It was the seat sensor.

my areas of concern... the fact USB music won't resume. Sometimes you park the car for 10 minutes - it's forgotten what it was last playing. Sometimes 30mins it remembers. LIke WTF! Why can't it ALWAYS remember! The fact they changed wipers from left-right speed change to up-down speed change. WHY F\*\*\* with what i'm used to!!! It's not better in any way. Worse, I go to change the volume and my wipers are going at downpour speed!!! Ever since the Christmas 2021 update I now hate Tesla updates!!!
