The story is two years old. It just resurfaced because of politics. For better or worse Elon has had calls to Putin since he founded SpaceX and tried to buy a Russian Rocket engine. AT the time NASA was depending on Russia for taking Americans to the space station. I am sure the NSA and CIA are both listening in on the phone calls and yet Elon still has security status and SpaceX still launches intelligence satellites for the NSA. I am no fan of Putin and think Elon should not have talked to him after the Ukraine war started. But Talking to a foreign leader by itself is not illegal.

I'm not a fan of his personal views on Ukraine/Taiwan, but the Putin/Musk story is a nothingburger.

Plenty of roadsters still have the original battery. The original holds up better than the replacement.
