not the best rate , china would be 4 x and twice as cheap
How can they call this a giga factory. 200k vehicles a year is a small factory at best. What is Tesla doing with all the space. Austin and Berlin have been a caped failure so far. I just don’t understand
Tesla are no longer supply constrained. They are limited by what they can sell. Not got the demand to go full throttle with these new factories.
Yeah well, maybe drop the prices? If they took the same profit as the other brands, they would have lower prices. Instead, they are being eaten by those brands.
Haha, show me a competitor that’s “eating those brands” while making the profit they are. Sometimes it’s better to sell fewer cars for more profit than more cars for less profit total. Teslas doing just fine.
Holy shit, that's 438 per day! That's unreal! I had no idea these factories could produce cars on that volume. How does this compare to other highly popular vehicle models?
Ford makes about 6 million vehicles per year using SIXTY assembly plants. Tesla production per factory, and production per square foot, is higher than typical.
They have been dropping the price fairly regularly.
They have dropped prices so hard that sales have basically collapsed for all non-Tesla western BEVs.

200k a year is fantastic compared to other factories, from established brands or otherwise. In fact, it’s incredibly efficient. What are you talking about?
1/5 the output if Shanghai and the factory is supposed to be newer and more state of the art
Ford has 27 assembly plants.
They need to keep attacking/ lowering price. They have to price their cars so incentives are being taken advantage of.
pretty disappointing given how weak EU sales are now
Clearly a Kilofactory.
stop building! nobody's buying them -according to reddit

They used to have 73. I guess my number is out of date.

Tesla Shanghai produces almost a million cars per year, or 2,600 cars per day.
Compared to Giga Texas, they’re at about the same rate. Shanghai only produces 2 vehicles, and as such they can make them much much quicker. Giga Texas rolled 250k Model Y’s off the line last year and is set to push out 250k Cybertrucks next year for a total of 500k units a yr. Giga Texas also handles production of battery cells, plastics, and body components that are not assembled elsewhere. If you think these are bad numbers I encourage you to look at the output of other factories and compare for yourself. There’s a reason Tesla is able to turn a profit and I’ll give you a hint, it’s not because they have inefficient factories.

if no one is buying these imagine legacy auto's parking lots lol. Tesla still outselling them something like 24 to 1
Depreciation is gonna be crazy
That’s people on r/electricvehicles
This says 1.4M a year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Hyundai_Motor_Company_manufacturing_facilities It's interesting to see the stats. 5,000,000 m2 vs 930,000 m2 (Giga Texas) 34,000 staff vs 20,000

Vehicle sales overall are down all over the place.
Tesla is losing overall market share in europe. Look it up.
Not by any significant margin. Still selling like hot cakes in Norway. There was a dip due to incentives going away in Germany that messed with the statistics a ton. On top of that is the Chinese ev tarrifs essentially neutering the M3 Highlands sales potential.
When did the ev tariffs go into effect?
It was voted into law just recently, but they started several months ago if my memory serves me correct. It happened very quick and pretty much out of nowhere to save the European car industry from "unfair" competition. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cly20n4d0g9o
Unless I've missed something, they haven't really dropped here in the UK. It's more like they haven't increased the price. When I bought my first Tesla back in 2019 the base Model 3 was £40,800, the LR was £49,000 and the P £59,900 Today the base Model is £39,990 LR £ 49,990 and P £59,990 By comparison, in 2019 the VW Tiguan R-Line was £40k. Today the same Tiguan is £52k
VW Wolfsburg is 3 400 a day, bit that's one of the biggest factories in the world.
If you buy car and expect it to keep it's value, you are delusional. It's a moving property, deprecation is normal and market conditions will further affect it.
Usually the cars I buy don’t really depreciate more than 15% in 6 years. The model 3 and Y are almost at 60% depreciation in a year alone
