Should I trade in my ICE car for a model Y?

princetonwu | 2026-03-14 00:52 | 9 views

My wife recently got a Y and she's loving it and wants me to switch. TBH the FSD is quite good, which I had always brushed it off as "no way it's that good" before we test drove it. I told her if my current car breaks down or need significant repairs, then I'll think about switching it. Now my 90k BMW is having a drivetrain malfunction. I'm not sure if I should drop more $ and time to tinker around with it or just switch over.

Do it

I got my model 3 after my Audi had complete transmission failure. Just think about how you will charge with 2 vehicles.

I thought about this change for awhile I made the move six months ago. The maintenance has been virtually nonexistent, and as long as you can reliability charge at home no brsiner.

Just do it!

I switched from BMW to Audi because of repair costs and now drive a Tesla. I’m saving money on my car payment and electricity vs just how much i spent in gas on the audi excluding every months some random repair

We have two 60a wall connectors in our garage. Wife has an ev9 gt line and I have a 3. It's so wildly convenient for both us to be able to charge at the same time

This group is hardly an unbiased opinion. But yeah, do it.

Go for it!

I found another ‘22 m3 lr awd with FSD paid and I’ve been considering selling the low mileage Honda with the bad 1.5t engine

Trade in your automotive flip phone for a Tesla. You will not ever look back.

I’ve owned two BMWs and they make it to the seven year mark and then they fall apart. Otherwise they’re wonderful cars, but they are money pits. With gas prices only going higher I can’t think of a better time to lock in the .99% interest rate on the Tesla model Y do it before march 31. I got the performance, but that is not available for that deal for most people the model Y all-wheel-drive premium with perhaps the acceleration boost if you find you need it afterwards is a really good deal right now.

Get a 3, not a Y. And hardware level 4.

Just traded my modded e93 m3 for one and couldn’t be happier. Bmw is an amazing driving machine, but the maintenance costs are ridiculous.

We just installed two Tesla wall chargers in our garage and it’s amazing!
