Pulsing vibration from frunk when turning on heat – 2024 Model Y
I picked up a 2024 Model Y last week, so please bear with me as I’m still getting familiar with how everything behaves. I have preconditioning scheduled in the mornings, and it’s been working consistently over the past few days. However, this morning the cabin didn’t precondition as expected. I attempted to start defrost manually through the app, but it repeatedly returned fault messages (see screenshots). I tried the command several times, including restarting the app, but wasn’t able to get it to activate. When I eventually went out to the car (which was completely frozen), I turned the heat up from inside the vehicle. At that point the car began making a very noticeable pulsing vibration coming from the frunk area. It’s difficult to describe precisely, but it sounds and feels like a [rhythmic vibration or pulsing from the front of the vehicle](https://vimeo.com/1172164028?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci). I’ve attached a video so you can hear for yourself. You'll notice that it sounds particularly strange when I power it down, almost like a bad bearing. This could very well be normal heat pump behavior, but as a new Tesla owner I don’t yet have a baseline for what’s typical, so I wanted to check here before scheduling a service appointment. Has anyone else experienced something similar or know what might be causing it?
