Grok on Model Y Propulsion (2026 - ex-standard)

LeadOn42 | 2026-03-07 22:30 | 10 views

Hi Guys! well, i'm new here, just received my brand new Tesla Model Y (Propulsion), and I absolutely love it! After talking with my co-workers that all have 2024-2025 Model Y, they all got the OS Update with Grok in France since a week and a half. On my new one, even after switching to Advanced for system upgrades, nothing shows. Is it because i'm on free trial of Connectivity Premium (first 30 days)? Or is it still not available on new models? Thanks!

What is a Model Y Propulsion?

If an update is available is your region, setting yourself on Advanced is the only thing you can do. That and keeping your fingers crossed. No reason why you shouldn't get it soon.

New cars generally do not get on the regular update cycle for a month or two. Just the way they handle factory firmware.

In France, it's how they call the new cheepest Model Y (also was called "Standard" for a couple of weeks)

They put you on a (hidden) update bracket and updates roll out in waves. It helps to be in "advanced" instead of "standard" under the software updates tab, but not a lot. I heard in the past that switching back and forth a few times (like once a day) helps but that might be a myth.
