Renting a Tesla for camping inside is it realistic for a first time

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about renting a Tesla for a few days and using it for camping, sleeping inside the car. I’ve never done Tesla camping before but camp mode looks amazing and the idea of having climate control all night sounds perfect. I wanted to ask if anyone here has done this with a rental Tesla. Which model is best for sleeping inside Model 3 or Model Y Where do you get a mattress and the camping gear if you don’t own the car And is it comfortable enough for a few nights I’d really appreciate any tips, recommendations, or things I should know before doing this. Thanks a lot!

I’ve done it with my partner once while camping. It’s not great but it works. Not ideal for someone tall and a mattress is recommended

6'3 here, managed to do it in a model 3 for a week. Not ideal but you can make it work. It's a pain to get in and out, and the board the covers the trunk area under the back windshield gets in the way if you want to put a knee up or something. I'd suggest a Y as it will be exponentially more comfortable.

Mattress on amazon and make sure your campsite has electricity and you have a L1 charger or you are near a L2 charger

Y is better as it does not have the low trunk opening the 3 has.

I have done it twice. When’s me and my dog and the second time me and my wife and my dog all three were easily comfortable fit in model three though we are 5’6”-5’ 7”. Also keep a nice camping reading lights so if you want to read certain stuff, it’s nice. Also, make sure you change the HVAC filter because if you are renting and the HVAC filter is not changed, which means you’ll be breathing that while you’re sleeping, it’s cost $60 and you can just watch it online how to change the HVAC filter is very easy but I doubt if you would be able to do for the rental. Apart from the mobile charger also keep a RV plug 15 A converter with you. You don’t get that with your Tesla mobile charger so in certain campsites, they have 30 A to 15 A but they are designed specifically for RV trailer so you need to buy that converter so you can just plug in your mobile charger through that converter and you can keep the air-conditioning on a whole night. It’s like sleeping in a first class cabin keep a pillow also. I also had a camping mattress like a gym mattress and then on top I slept in my camping bed. There is a fire campsite mode. If you turn that on the car warms really nice for sometime and then it turns off automatically after sometime it would be nice if you buy a privacy screens because when you wake up in the morning, basically everybody can see inside the car. Make sure you keep the car locked from inside.

Yeah watch your battery level and power needs to get to a charger.
