What in the AliExpress is the second one?

I’d love to have the newer steering wheel in my Model 3. Just looks better
It’s the original wheel from 2023 and back 😝
i have a 2021 MY and my stock wheel does not look like that. carbon fiber pattern is not standard, to my knowledge. you may have been sold the car with an aftermarket wheel if you bought it used..
It’s literally a factory wheel with carbon fiber accents, stop being dramatic.
Because it has more functions??
I'd like it so i can get rid of the only IUD emblem left on my car.
Not the carbon fiber part, whole wheel design. I think OP is asking about the new design wheel to retrofitted onto his year car
I wish I hadn’t seen this, now I can’t unsee it 🫠🤣
Is it even possible? It’s such a nice steering wheel but I haven’t seen anyone do it so it makes me wonder.
following. I'd love the new wheel as well in my old Y. The only issue is the buttons don't work as I've heard since there's no cable?
EVOffer has them

The old steering wheel is way better imo
The old steering wheel has less functionality
Stickers. It has stickers all over it
It has stickers on it. lol
found it! jeez it's kind of a painful install.
why?
A lot of people prefer tactile over capacitive controls.
Not only that, but the old steering wheel feels a lot better. The new one is really thin and doesn't fit the hand well.
it just feels beefier, especially on the OG pre 2020 facelift models before they started using the material that peels. i hate how skinny the new one is, one of the reasons why im so hesitant on getting a newer model. and what functionality is it missing?
the best model 3 steering wheel was the pre 2020 facelift steering wheel, the one that didn't have the peeling 'leather'. the new steering wheels are just so buns.
The OG 3 had a leather wheel. I wish I could get that with the metal wheels of the newer three
Try out a Model S or Model X steering wheel. They’re quite a bit “beefier” and still have all the buttons on it from the newer Model 3/Y wheels.
It looks nice but too expensive for me
I thought the new juniper one is thicker? From the pictures it looks like it
no turn signal though, and personally I won't buy a car with the screen gear shifter, its absurd.
I did, but I don't like how they look. There's just something so special about the 2018-20 model 3 year steering wheels, it's dumb but it just feels so arcady and toyish while just feeling so solid and premium. I also love the T logo over the TESLA logo on the steering wheel. Model 3's steering wheel in comparison to MS/X also look more uniform. S/X looks and feel bigger even though they probably arent because of how proportionate Model 3's steering wheel looks.
S/X’s steering wheel is most definitely bigger than the 3/Y wheel. I’ve used both recently and there’s a noticeable difference.
They have turn signals.
There is a kit to swap it over on EVOffer it’s about $650 with the oem airbag, modded shroud, and steering wheel. They explain the variations in their site too
This might be a hot take but I like the legacy wheel more
Yes I agree
I also hate this trend of “ T E S L A “ BRING BACK BADGES
Temu ass feeling this trend of “P OR S C H E” “ T E S L A” being back badges.
Nah it's a thinner rim vs the old one
Screen shifter is pretty intuitive but auto shift is where it’s at. Get in tap the brake and off you go
stalk.
my dad has an S and I can't get used to it, it just feels much better to have something physical to shift
Maybe my opinion is backwards, but I don’t like the beefier wheel, went from a 2018 to a 2023 model 3 and the skinny wheel is just better in the hands
I think it’s an alternate face plate, not stickers
Elaborate..?😭
To each their own. Personally I love it.
The buttons the juniper steering wheel are NOT capacitive, the are traditional (mechanical). People get confused because there are different variants of the steering wheel that looks very similar but have different buttons. Quick note: The "capacitive" (actually haptic) button feels very similar to a traditional physical button. (At least similar enough to confuse people about the buttons they have.) It is essentially the same as the trackpads on the MacBooks: pressure sensitivity + a haptic feedback that feels like a click. Look: even yourself are convinced that the Juniper has haptic buttons, while they're actually traditional. This is because the haptic buttons of the stalkless highlands feels so similar to traditional buttons that it fools people into thinking the Juniper has the same. Here's all the variants: - Model S, stalkless: haptic buttons. - Model 3 Highland, stalkless: haptic buttons. - Model 3 Highland, stalk: traditional buttons. - Model Y Juniper, stalk: traditional buttons.
While I haven't really dug into it, a 30 second search turned up a user manual here: https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/models/en_us/GUID-DEB259CC-ABAC-4BFC-8D10-B7B1BBCFCB1F.html That has this excerpt: "Some controls on the steering yoke (or steering wheel) are capacitive buttons, meaning they do not have a physical switch, but respond to touch and provide haptic feedback (as a vibration). Do not rest your fingers on them unless intended. Unintentionally touching these buttons can enable or disable them. If a button is mistakenly enabled, remove your fingers from the switches for several seconds to resume normal operation." So at least some models have had capacitive buttons and that is a likely source for the confusion between models. While it may have only been select models for certain amounts of time, the design at least looks similar even if it doesn't function the same.
If I remember rightly even swapping the OG wheel there are different types. So not even straight forward.
I prefer the buttons on the wheel.
I'm switching to PDF manuals at specific dates from archive.org because Tesla's "live" manuals change over time. The [manual you linked](https://web.archive.org/web/20250401073946/https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/models/en_us/Owners_Manual.pdf) is for the stalkless Model S which only released with the haptic buttons, as I stated previously (bottom right of page 70). The [manual of the Model Y Juniper](https://web.archive.org/web/20260116012308/https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/modely/en_us/Owners_Manual.pdf) don't have this excerpt (at the bottom of page 70). The [manual of the model 3 Highland **from last year**](https://web.archive.org/web/20250401014915/https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_us/Owners_Manual.pdf) (stalkless) DO have the haptic warning at the bottom of page 64. However the [manual of this year's model 3](https://web.archive.org/web/20251025121435/https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_us/Owners_Manual.pdf) (with blinker stalk) don't have it anymore, as the haptic buttons have been replaced with traditional mechanical buttons, again at page 64.
The manual I linked literally says they're capacitive for that model.
Did you even read your whole excerpt? > capacitive buttons, meaning they do not have a physical switch, but respond to touch **and provide haptic feedback** So they are capacitive AND haptic, which is why I'm calling them "haptic" as it makes more sense. (A capacitive-only button wouldn't provide the "click" feedback.)
Tesla emblem looks like an IUD implant
Why does it matter if they provide haptic feedback, if the primary issue people have with them is that they're capacitive? The feedback isn't the issue, it's the part where a light accidental touch can trigger them.
> The feedback isn't the issue, it's the part where a light accidental touch can trigger them. Did you ever tried one of those cars? Do you daily drive one? Or are you regurgitating stuff you read elsewhere? I own and daily drive a stalkless model 3 (capacitive/haptic buttons) and no, a "light accidental touch" doesn't trigger them. In any case, it is non-existent issue for new owners because today's model 3 and model Y **don't** have the capacitive/haptic buttons anymore. Are you reading me correctly here? Because it feels like you keep ignoring this very important part which I'll write for a third time but bigger: # **Today's model 3 and Y only have traditional/tactile mechanical buttons, the capacitive/haptic buttons don't exist anymore.** My goal was to point out that your initial comment (_"A lot of people prefer tactile over capacitive controls."_) wasn't a valid argument for the older steering wheel, as the newer steering wheel don't have capacitive controls. I think I sucessfully did that, so I'm out.
Wouldn’t any T?
Do the buttons work lmao
I love the legacy steering wheel. 💛 The juniper one is ugly.
Both are nice but the 2nd pic has been cleaned using something that makes it shine instead of keeping it matte. This makes it look like cheap plastic, and the carbon fiber doesnt help either
Pretty sure the controls won’t work.
