Currently have black seats on my Model Y, thinking of finally switching to white ones when I get a Juniper. Convince me that it’s not a good idea.

I’m not too worried about them getting dirty because I know the white seats are apparently super easy to clean but what are other reasons why white seats aren’t a good idea?

They look amazing. They hold up just as well (I had a 3 with black seats for 3 years first) — they do need cleaning more, they will mark, even blue from jeans will rub off onto them over time, but it cleans off very easily.

It is a good idea. White seats are easy to maintain. Go for it.

Just do it. I love the white seats on my X and get compliments all the time. Cleaning is easy, but since they’re white, dirt is more noticeable, so you’ll probably find yourself wiping them down more often than darker colors. I do think my black jeans rub off on them a bit, but nothing a good scrub can’t handle.

With the black headliner, black seats actually got better. But it also contrasts great with white. A great analogy is, if you’re the kind of guy that sets all your apps to dark mode, white seats will probably bother you eventually. Every time you get in the car you’re going to get that “full of light” feeling.

This is me. I don’t get the white interior drama.

Do you regularly pay someone to detail your car?

White seats for sure.

I have always had cars/SUVs with darker seats. My M3P is my first car with white seats and it looks fresh. I love it.
