2026 Model Y RWD – Clicking/Creaking noise during sharp turns, Tesla couldn’t replicate. Anyone dealt with this?

Picked up my 2026 Model Y RWD in mid-October. A few months in and I’ve been noticing a clicking/creaking noise during low-speed sharp turns — most obvious during U-turns or full-lock turns in parking lots. It happens in both directions. I recently had it in for service for a few things and added this to the list. Here’s what the service notes said: “Our technician reviewed the video and conducted a thorough inspection but could not replicate the creaking noise from the steering wheel during low-speed turns at this time. The cause of the intermittent sound remains unclear due to its inconsistent nature. We performed a detailed diagnosis and a post-repair validation test drive to ensure everything functions properly. If the noise becomes more persistent, we encourage you to return for further evaluation.” So basically — they watched my video (where it’s clearly audible at the 9-13 second mark), couldn’t reproduce it themselves, and sent me on my way. The noise is still there. It’s intermittent but definitely real. My research says CV joint or something in the steering rack, but I’m no mechanic. Has anyone else gone through this loop with Tesla service? Any tips on getting them to actually fix it rather than just close the ticket? And does anyone recognize this issue on a RWD Model Y specifically? Already planning to go back — just want to be better prepared this time. I had a similar issue with my model X. It was an issue with the front skid plate. When I took it to the service center, they were able to resolve it. Here was the comment the technician put: “Our technician inspected the vehicle and confirmed a clicking noise when turning the steering wheel, as described. The cause was identified as an issue with the front skidplate. To resolve this, the technician removed and clean the front skidplate and conducted a thorough diagnosis of the front suspension noise. After the repair, a validation test drive was performed to ensure the noise is no longer present.”

It’s the control arm

You do understand that I mod that sub as well? Why do the mods suck? If you're going to call me out. You better have receipts because you're already on thin ice for lying. Our normal sop is to perma ban for this.

I believe you need new Front Sway Bar End Links. Dealing with the same noise now. Let me know if it solves your problem.

My control arm mounts were recently replaced, that solved a difference creaking sound in the car Service notes: Our technician inspected the vehicle and confirmed a creaking noise from the front area, noticeable at low speeds over uneven roads. The issue was traced to the front upper control arm mounts. We replaced both the left and right front upper control arm mounts and performed an alignment check to ensure proper setup. I had a rattle in the front on the driver’s side. Upon analysis, the solution was to replace the whole steering column! And I was out of warranty on this 2018 Model 3. Not exactly your problem, but suggestive.
