Autosteer vs Autopilot Model Y

He experts, I am seeing a lot of 2023 Model Y for 28-32k for around 32k miles. But I recently saw some discounted new Tesla for around 40k with 50ish miles. Like my previous post I only need adaptive cc and auto driving on freeways (daily 90 miles of almost all freeway) Does going with the new model with autosteer be enough for that or should I stick with an older model for full autopilot

New models (I believe the cut off was 2026-01-23) only have TACC (traffic-aware cruise control). This allows you set a speed and the car will maintain that speed unless a slower vehicle is in front of you. The driver must maintain the car in the lane. Pre 2026-01-23, Tesla vehicles (with the exception of the Cybertruck) had both TACC and Autosteer. This combination is what was called "Autopilot". Autosteer combined TACC with lane assist; the car would both maintain a speed and keep the car (mostly) centered within the lane. For your use case, it sounds like you definitely want TACC **AND** Autosteer. So you shouldn't get a vehicle that only has TACC (again, cut off was around 2026-01-23). You could always get a newer vehicle and subscribe to FSD (if you live in the United States).
