Has 2026.2.3 FINALLY fixed autowipers???

D0gefather69420 | 2026-02-21 10:11 | 42 views

2021 model 3, Europe Just had a 1 hr drive in rain with various intensity, on different roads at different speeds and autowipers worked PERFECTLY! I have never experienced them working properly on a full drive before. I know they improved matrix headlights and this is really noticeable, but are you noticing the same improvement with wipers or was this a fluke?

2022 MY - 25km in intermittent rain, from drizzle to heavens open, no change noticed

Stashek 2026-02-21 10:21

In the Netherlands

psaux_grep 2026-02-21 10:25

No. Have been on 2.3 for 24 days and they still suck the regular amount. Heck, maybe slightly more as the other day it was wiping for the grey box truck crossing in front of me in the roundabout instead of just the grey sky like it usually does. Every now and then after software updates people have good experiences and raise this question. Some will argue very hard for it. But then - you never see them mention it again. Statistical variation with correlation does not equate causation.

Alexikik 2026-02-21 10:44

Nope, just had two long drives in dry, wet and raining weather. Still terrible

D0gefather69420 2026-02-21 10:55

"Statistical variation with correlation does not equate causation." In 5 years and 200k km I've never had them work like they just did. Yes I'm only one person but still significant mileage. But I guess it was a fluke.

Tribaal 2026-02-21 11:09

Nope, still massively worse than a 1€ infrared sensor from the 90’s unfortunately.

Blazah 2026-02-21 12:45

Enjoy it! The auto headlights are horrible on the Honda Ridgeline. Then one night, on a 50 mile drive, they worked FLAWLESSLY. Couldn't believe it! Was so happy!! Next time I took that drive, I was back in manual bright headlight hell... lol

D0gefather69420 2026-02-21 12:47

well the auto matrix headlights on my model 3 are absolutely amazing

jefferios 2026-02-21 13:17

Mine will wipe when it's dry and stay down when it's raining. I really wish I could disable auto wipers permanently

endfossilfuel 2026-02-21 14:13

One does not simply fix the autowipers… I will continue keeping them disabled via the Enhauto Commander for as long as I own this car. Too many windshield-scratching dry-wipes for me to ever trust that system again.

Fanboyofeverything1 2026-02-21 16:42

Nothing and I mean nothing will "fix" the auto wipers! Ever!

Acceptable_Main_5911 2026-02-21 17:18

Works well in rain so it’s good at its actual job at least now. Will still turn on in direct sunlight sometimes if windshield isn’t perfectly clean

smithre4 2026-02-21 18:13

Still randomly wipes the dry windshield when there is no rain for me.

MetehanDev 2026-02-21 19:00

Funny I never had a big problem with my model Y’s auto wipers. Most of the time they work automatically when I need them, some times they want a manual trigger but then they work. I almost never changed their speed to a manual one. Sometimes it just wipes the windshield out of nowhere but that’s not that big of a problem for me anyway. I guess it happens when some dust or light blocks the camera so whatever.

Impossible_Month1718 2026-02-21 19:40

lol they’re trying to make self driving and still can’t get the wipers righter

HarsiTomiii 2026-02-21 20:44

That's that sad truth. Sure, it has improved vastly compared to how it was 3-4 years ago. Still, fog sometimes triggers it, sometimes rain doesn't trigger it. Sometimes in light snowfall it goes crazy, sometimes in heavy snow it pretends it it sunny clear day... It's like a 70% solution...

mangobanana62 2026-02-21 23:46

Wait, you can't? Or you talking about when you start fsd?

TheMadolche 2026-02-22 00:05

No

HistoricalHurry8361 2026-02-22 02:19

I noticed mine have gotten a lot better. A freshly cleaned camera housing helps a lot too

jefferios 2026-02-22 02:26

I use AP, but yes, same idea, it enables it.

OverlyOptimisticNerd 2026-02-22 02:37

Nope. It’s seasonal. People will be complaining again in about 2 months.  Spring and fall are when they act up the worst in most places with four seasons.

Huge_Exchange_9655 2026-02-22 04:15

I can’t say they fixed it… but I will say that today was the first time since I got my MX that in FSD it didn’t auto wipe dry windshield lol

odevoted 2026-02-22 06:43

In Europe too, and in the last days, with various levels of rain, they worked very well for me too. Fingers crossed

Haze57 2026-02-22 08:54

Pour ma part il ne se mettent pas assez souvent en route et du coup on ne voit rien quand il pleut

RezzaBuh 2026-02-22 08:58

Even the previous versions works quite well in a rain. But now wipes under the red traffic lights even when not raining 🙄.

thelvaenir 2026-02-22 10:00

No change for me, and I'm on 2026.2.6 as of today. Still dry wipes at least once per drive cycle on a bright sunny day.

WA-typical 2026-02-22 12:08

I'm still not understanding the possessed wipers since I got my M3. I always have the wipers set to "OFF", and not "Auto". Doesn't rain that often here in AZ. Still randomly wipes on a clear dry day. lol And if it does rain, it's often just a "sprinkle". If I change the setting to auto, they wipe on full speed like it's a hurricane. No delay, slow speed, or the "once in awhile wipe".

No_Lie_8954 2026-02-22 12:37

Nope. Not for me. Still have to keep wipers out of auto and use them manually.

inquiringdoc 2026-02-22 16:03

Not for me. The wipers are my main and really only complaint about the car. Since the cold spell in the NE US, the fluid no longer sprays out normally and even after it warmed up, the spot right in front of the driver has no fluid and streaks and is just annoying. Auto has never worked well in mine, and always is too slow to be safe, in heavy or light precipitation.

Parking-Champion-297 2026-02-22 17:21

Crazy they didn’t add rain sensors to Highland and Juniper—guess that would admit the camera-only system isn’t perfect. Also wild that on some cars, AP locks wipers to Auto. On my 2019 Model 3, auto wipers are optional.

T_Hankss 2026-02-22 19:51

No. Dry and clean windshield and clear and cold day and suddenly you will almost shit yourself as the ice cold vipers are screaking on the windshield.

Town--Drunk 2026-02-26 12:19

No problem with my wipers, except FSD wanting to wipe a perfectly good & dry windshield. I need to swap to my new wipers. They work fine when wet but a horrible noise dry when FSD takes a swipe or two.
