24 hour test drive (MY) - what should I test?

CatPast214 | 2026-02-17 20:42 | 20 views

I did a quick 2 hour test drive / mostly to test FSD on local roads, traffic circle, crossing bike trails. Tesla was kind enough to arrange for a 24 hour test drive for me next week. Suggestions on what I should test? Edit: Already have a Tesla Universal Wall Connector installed in my home - futureproofing when I installed it for my PHEV.

Test everything , is it garageable , test the sound system , can you fit your things in it. Can you get a charger installed etc

Costco run, weekend kids sports event load, your perspective location for home charging, full family load, light show, research and find your best FSD settings, bumpy road driving, check it's trip planner and variety of supercharger options every 2 miles, your house electric panel if it has 200 amps...

Here is another post about Tesla software capabilities, check it in advance what's interesting for you. I like parental controls. https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModelY/s/jlpGWXasgE

Test how many tire marks you can leave on pavement 😈, as it expensive when you own the tires! 🛞 (closed course, not public roadways, insert legal disclaimer here)

Honestly test a performance edition vs regular, so you don’t have to buy twice…. Trust me

I don't think the performance is what I'd want - premium AWD would be the best fit for me. I have no need for the extra acceleration / the premium is a second+ faster at 0-60 than any car I've ever owned (and I'm mid 60s) and I much rather have the extra range.

I'll definitely give the acceleration a test getting on to the highway - but not when I"m driving with my wife - she 100% is not a fan of g-forces.

Test it with your daily life.
