Tesla service loaners are notoriously disorganized. That's why I laughed when they said they're making a rental program - they can't even do loaners for long term service. I had to use Hertz when they had my car in repair for 2 weeks.

What you need to do is drop off early in the morning. Many people return their loaners and pick up their cars overnight.

I had dropped my car off last Saturday for upper control arms. I was there for about 3 hours before I went to ask the guy something and noticed my car wasn’t being worked on because they were backed up even though the app said they were. Guy gave me a loaner since it wasn’t going to be done that day. Whenever I go for a windshield replacement, they have not given me a loaner. I was at the service center for 6 hours the first time and they offered me uber credits but, the lady said it would take two hours to do so I decided to wait since I live 40 mins away. Didn’t wanna go home for a few mins to then go back.

At least here in Los Angeles area the loaners are prioritized for warranty repairs

First off, your quote doesn’t nearly match what they are saying in the screenshots.
Second the verbiage they use is pretty common. Loaners aren’t guaranteed, fixing the issue under warranty- is.
If you show up and they have no loaners you could ask for Uber credits and see what they say.

This all seems pretty normal for me.
It depends how long they’re going to have your car, and if there are loaners available.
So they will tell you when you arrive.

Yes, telling us the color of your exact model, color and interior variant was CRUCIAL here.

People do this crap in this sub all the time when it’s not relevant. Starting to get jaded after being around this sub for nearly a decade now.
More on topic: Tesla does not give a shit about your trim of vehicle when giving out loaners. They might care about model though. I get treated differently with a Model X vs. my Model 3 Performance. The latter always nets me a pre-Juniper or pre-Highland car that’s trashed. The former sometimes gets me a newer (still trashed) car.

They recently did the same to me. Said to bring the car in and evaluate the situation before garranteeing a loaner car.

Oh man. Yeah they were able to do the other two repairs today but they deferred the windshield repair because they said the rock chip was too big to repair so they're ordering a new windshield. They asked me to bring it back, next week for the windshield repair. They are swearing up and down it's a 2hr job with a 1hr setting period, but waiting 6hrs sounds like a nightmare. Based on that I'll probably just see about a loaner or Uber home. Thanks for the feedback.

College Park Service Center? LOL they use the same standard answer for loaner related question. From my experience i did get a loaner. They offered me CT but i declined. I got me an X instead.

This is what I did. I told them I'm looking to upgrade to a better vehicle than what I have. All of a sudden, there was a lot of excitement around finding me a loaner and they got me a fully souped up MS with FSD et al. Let me keep it for a week when the repair only took 24 hours.

Wait they offer loaners for out of warranty repairs? There amazing. I'm under warranty and assumed it was only for warranty service. Is this only for the premium vehicles, or do the Y/3 also get loaners?

To clarify it’s for in-warranty covered repairs that require them to keep overnight (usually) though I have had loaners for same day. In my experience, they will try to pair you with the same model car you have. I’ve tried asking for an X to essentially test drive for a day or two but haven’t had any luck. That said, I’ve recieved Model Y’s most often.
