The doors, obviously. Self presenting doors are a true luxury. The front ones closing automatically, especially the drivers door on pressing the brake pedal once you are in…priceless. Haha
If you don’t need the space, is it really worth it? Probably not. We needed the space and I love the extra features like air suspension and the doors for getting the kid/car seat in and out.
Also, the windshield is going to be eye opening for you. It feels wide open while you are driving.
Enjoy it!

Thank you. The space is the big reason I’m leaning toward it. It’s just us two humans but also two 60lb dogs. I think the Y is a little cramped for all of us. We would get the 5 seat configuration as we don’t need extra seats just more space.
ETA: we’re coming from a small Lexus sport sedan and a Genesis Coupe. You’d think the Y would be big enough compared to those but not quite in my mind.

I got the Y thinking I could do it, and I love my tesla but I wish I had the budget for an X for that extra interior room. Sadly, if I wanted something larger and EV, but affordable prob won't be able to squeeze 60k+ for a used X, so I'd have to go alternatives.

I used the overnight test to confirm it fit in my garage and my kid could get out. It’s a honker so we wanted to be sure. Back when I got mine the HW4 and Tesla Vision for Self presenting doors was super rudimentary and not to be trusted, and we disabled it at home.
Other than that, it’s just about enjoying it and making sure it’s a good fit for you. You can leave the QA for your actual delivery.

If you are coming from never having owned a Tesla there are a ton of great features that Tesla have.
The first, and one of if the best, you won't see overnight but having a home charger means you never have to go to the gas station again other than road trips. You simply wake up to a full "tank" every morning.
The Tesla knows and remembers you. When you get in the car it remembers YOU from your phone and automatically adjusted the seats, radio, etc to your preferences. (If you get 2 Ys it will also adjust your seat positions in one when you change ur in the other, your profile is in the cloud so if you ever drive another Y/X it will automatically have all your preferences)
There is no turning on or off the car. You just get in and bubble your seat belt. I mean the only reason you get in a car and buckle the seat belt is t to use the car so do those things and step in the brake. The car is started and ready to go. When you unbuckle the seatbelt and open the door the car goes into park and turns off so you just walk away.
I believe the X even has auto-shift available so if you back out of a parking space it knows when to shift into drive.
FSD. Full self driving is literally like being chauffered by an 18 year old but you can take over when they screw up. Get on the freeway and turn it on. Get comfortable with it in the freeway and then get it on the city street where it is a little more difficult, for me anyway, to accept that the car is a competent driver.
I probably don't have to say this part but floor that thing from a stop a couple times. There's nothing like the acceleration of a Tesla. If you're given a Plaid it will get up to 60 in around 2.5 seconds. These cars are just fun to drive.
All the things others have said before, self-presenting doors, the falcon wing doors, etc.
Truly great cars and FSD has literally changed the way I drive

Only the driver door presents when you walk up, and only the driver door closes when you walk away. However, it is nice that I can open and close the other doors through the app or in the controls settings.
That being said, I agree that it's luxurious. I will have a hard time getting a new car if other car makers don't have this feature.

We tried the Model Y and I really wanted that one to work just for the simplicity of the car. I didn’t need the bells and whistles of the X. My problem, we already had a 3 and the Y wasn’t any bigger with the rear facing car seat in the back. I wasn’t buying another Tesla to be in the same predicament.
Tried an X out and I was in trouble. The 5 seated is the one for me as well. I come from having BMW wagons so I love the practicality of folding the seats and loading it up. I’ve hauled all kinds of stuff over the years with that space. To me, the 5 seater was similar. Yeah, the 6 seater is neat and the 7 may offer more space for those that truly need it, but those seats are tight. Also, you loose more storage in the back with the 7 seater. That was another area the 5 seater just made sense to me.
Put it this way, I’ve enjoyed ours so much, when we are ready to get rid of the Model 3, which will be tough to do, I’ll probably just get another Model X because they are so unique. I’ve always owned BMW’s and Mercedes but it’s really one of my favorite cars I’ve ever owned.

I have a Model X Plaid and I like it. It looks especially cool with a baby in the back seat. If I were single, I would consider a Juniper Model Y Performance. I had a pre-Juniper Model Y Performance which got rear-ended pretty badly. If you are single, get a Model Y; if you have a family, then a Model X is a very good choice.

How are you still able to to do this ? I’m not able to schedule any 24 or 48hr test drives in my area ?

If you schedule a super late test drive, you can then call them to see if they can change it to an overnight. It’s not 24 hours, it’s just like 12-15. I picked mine up at 6PM and had to be back by 8:30 AM. Some less busy places may have 24/48 but the busy ones don’t.

I think it’s area dependent. They even called last night to confirm because I think someone else was trying to get it as well. I did have to speak to them in person to get the overnight demo, so maybe try calling a Tesla center near you.
ETA this isn’t 24 or 48 hours. I have it from 5pm Friday night until the next morning only.

We got the car at 4:30pm and drove the hour and a half home in rush hour traffic. By 7:30pm we'd decided to order one when we got home from the drive we were on. At 8:15pm the order was placed. Can't wait!
