I would just test drive one. It was a significant upgrade from my 2020 model 3, but the X is closer to the Y.

So I would go to a Model Y for sure over a Raven. Yes they are nice but tesla has pretty much dropped support for the intel mcus

I just went from 2017 MS to 2026 MY to safe my lifetime FSD. My trade in value was crap but with the 0.99 % deal plus trade I was driven home by my new car with only $250 cash outlay. Do I miss my 9 year old S with scratches, road noise, terrible fsd but otherwise great car? Not a bit. I am about 90% FSD now. it's amazing in comparison. I only have a dog as kids are grown so i got all weather mats throughout. I would say that with all the taxi driving you will be doing with children it will be nice to have actually decent FSD. Much quieter in the cabin and premium sound system is fantastic . But you've not got much time. Might have limited options on colors to take delivery by March 31 if you are transferring fully paid FSD

I did not think about that. You are right, I rarely get "cool stuff" on software updates anymore.

Still getting updates on my Raven, on 26.2
You must mean fsd only.
Fsd is way better on hw4, on hw3 it’s still good/usable. If xferring Fsd is your primary goal then you 100% go an hw4 car.
As far as space goes, the raven S is longer than the Y with a bigger hatch, but is lower with less leg room in the back. They made the back roomier when they refreshed it. Also added door pockets and the rear screen.
The Y will be more practical in shape. It’s not the same as a X and will drive more like a very good econ car vs a luxury car. Ys dont have adaptive air suspension.
I own a Raven S and a Juniper Y.

I went from a 2023 X to a 2026 Premium Y to save my FSD. The Y is a little smaller, but quieter and tighter than the X. The FSD is much better too.

Thanks for the info. man, I think I'll pull the trigger on the MY. If only the AWD CT is available by 3/31

Any reason to not just get another Model X?

Fair, just that paying for another FSD license doesn't sit well with me. Also not to mention they discontinued the MX and parts may be hard to come by or will result to longer time to fix in the future.

FSD is included as an incentive and even if you transfer to a Y it isn't transferrable again so you aren't going to lose out on the next-next car. Parts will probably be available for 10 years or so but that is the only real downside.

"Updates" Its not the same by any means. I've had 2019 SP 2019 XP 2019 3P 2024 highland 2023 hw4 y 2026 m3p 2025 CT.
We upgraded from our X to the CT because it started becoming a rattle box just like my S. I think the newer cars build quality is way higher based on my experience with the brand.

Have 0 rattling in my MS, really feint creaking when i floor it but haven’t heard it lately. It’s possible previous owner got all those nuisance problems addressed.
My new MY is a little quieter due to the glass at highway speeds but idk it’s fairly close.

I know our model x made a ton of noises and my model s was also making quite a bit of just rattles and creeks and shakes. Whereas my plaid was almost dead silent.
