I am purchasing a used model x (first time Tesla buyer!) and I’m wondering how much the age of the car/battery matters vs the mileage on it? For reference I’m looking at a 2022 with 40,972 mi for $56k, and a 2024 with 31,188 mi for $72k. At face value i would feel like the 2022 is much better value but I’ve heard people say the age of the battery is just as or more important than the mileage. Both are from Teslas official website. Would love any opinions!

HW4 has never existed in the 2022 Model X. You need to look for _at least_ a 2023, with one of the tells (in online pictures) being chrome lettering in the rear. Though you should always confirm via software since that part can be changed.

Age seems to matter more than mileage on batteries.

My understanding is that you lose 10-20% over the first few years and then it stabilizes for the next 20 years.
