Because no one ordered them?

Pdx_pops 2025-11-24 00:14

Oh no! So anyways...

Finnegan_Faux 2025-11-24 00:22

Restarted a month ago, they only sold 1K S & X in Europe last year [https://electrek.co/2025/10/22/tesla-relaunches-model-s-x-in-europe-after-3-month-break/](https://electrek.co/2025/10/22/tesla-relaunches-model-s-x-in-europe-after-3-month-break/)

Share price gonna double!

bate_Vladi_1904 2025-11-24 00:26

And soon.... Tesla leaves Europe, as the market is dead.

Good thing their robots are way ahead of Boston dynamics' model that can do flips and navigate an incredibly difficult obstacle course that my fat ass couldn't complete. And my gosh Grok is so knowledgeable about alternative history! And X fixed their bot problem and is just filling the Scrooge McDuck vault with money. I bet they are making ~~snow~~ gold coin angels on the piles of money. We should give Elon even more tax payer money--he deserves it. I mean, he's the smartest man in the world according to his PR firm and Grok. I'm sure tesla will be fine without the car and carbon credits!

[deleted] 2025-11-24 00:30

No change then

PossibleCash6092 2025-11-24 00:33

I’m assuming that, and also to save costs considering their revenue has dipped to something like 30% or more

PossibleCash6092 2025-11-24 00:33

10x

javlin_101 2025-11-24 00:36

This is going to be great for their stock price!

No one wants these things because they are ridiculously priced and have looked the same since they were released. Also Musk is a Nazi

SuperLeverage 2025-11-24 01:15

No one wants it.

Fishbulb2 2025-11-24 01:18

I think the carbon credits loss will devastating. Impossible to ignore.

Boston Dynamics robots cost $75k, how much will Optimus be? And who can afford it? It doesn’t really matter, they won’t ever release Optimus, but we might see something they will call Optimus Supervised that will have a midget inside.

empire_of_the_moon 2025-11-24 01:31

I think you place too much emphasis on aesthetics and give the Europeans far too little credit for finding a sieg heil distasteful. The cars look good. The cars are very fun and reliable. But the fascist air freshener is a bridge too far. Companies spend billions on customer acquisition costs yet even Musk’s antics can’t seem to crash his brands. The easiest target by far would be Twitter yet every organization is still on it. Space X lost zero contracts. So why would Musk believe he would destroy his customer base for his cars? I really thought he would be broke as Ye by now - but nope.

iveseensomethings82 2025-11-24 01:41

Somehow stock continues to climb

Ok_Subject1265 2025-11-24 01:43

Why so bearish?

Thinklikeachef 2025-11-24 03:34

I heard mars is a great export market!

Thinklikeachef 2025-11-24 03:38

My take: it's over a decade of media adoration that's slowly winding down. You saw the protests in the states. Plus no one can afford new cars right now. Every is desperately holding on to their clunkers. My coworker at the office bought on the hype. She had no idea about the sales collapse in Europe.

TheLegendTwoSeven 2025-11-24 03:57

Me-lon: So, ah, the first consumer grade Optimus, it’s not ready for mass production just yet. There’s still a few bugs we’re working out. The first ones will go on sale later this year for $420,420, but I expect that within the next one to two years, we can get the price down to $69,420 as the volume increases to one million units per month and the per-unit cost drops to $9,001.

sirbinlid1 2025-11-24 04:15

Oh that's a shame.....ah well moving on

Turbulent-Phone-8493 2025-11-24 04:23

That might hurt sales.

tomdurk 2025-11-24 04:35

It probably was not getting many orders

Born-Gur-1275 2025-11-24 04:53

… let’s have a few pints.

Com4734 2025-11-24 05:00

Stock price will go up 20% on the loss of the credits and the news that they aren’t taking orders for these models anymore.

Hegario 2025-11-24 05:05

Bullish.

Hegario 2025-11-24 05:07

> they won’t ever release Optimus They are going to release about the same amount of robots that they released Tesla Semis and they'll be absolutely useless, just like the Tesla Semi.

JangalangJanglang 2025-11-24 06:18

Not to mention all that DOGE cutting out all the fraud and waste, whilst strengthening America's leadership and prestige in Research and Development. The best and the brightest all scrambling to come to or stay in the states to further innovation in our now richly funded, stable and nurturing place to build tomorrow's technology. Thanks Elon.

ianishomer 2025-11-24 06:28

Yep the Chinese have arrived in Europe, big style.

War_Fries 2025-11-24 06:30

>In a post on X on Monday, Musk wrote, ”~80% of Tesla’s value will be Optimus.” In mid-2024, Musk predicted that Optimus robots would someday turn Tesla into a $25 trillion company, which was equal to more than half of the entire value of the S&P 500 at the time of his [comment](https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/02/musk-tesla-value-optimus-robot.html). Why the hell do so many people still believe the promises this liar makes? He's the biggest con man in the history of mankind. What the hell is wrong with people?

Fuskeduske 2025-11-24 06:30

Only rich people will be able to afford humanoid robots, until some china company launches a cheap solution anyways

Withnail2019 2025-11-24 07:16

There is no solution. They can never be anything more than a toy.

Desperate-Hearing-55 2025-11-24 07:56

Im sure it have nothing to do with Tesla sales in Europe are plummeting? It's worth to keep the fabs running producing Tesla X/S for EU market when no one are buying it in EU. The stock will skyrocket +10% today with this news. Less cars sales --> keep costs down --> more money into AI and robots! Its win win for Tesla.

meatbag2010 2025-11-24 08:50

At least the S and X looked a bit different. So very bored of every white 3 / Y in the UK. And that white makes it really easy to spot just how poorly they are put together. Stuck behind a brand new Y today and the boot could have been fitted better by a five year old I'm sure.

FlagFootballSaint 2025-11-24 08:54

„Women have breasts again!“ LOL

DistributedView 2025-11-24 09:17

White Tesla's are the new sales rep car. Seeing so many come through off-lease at 2 year old. They made some sense back then with the BIK perks and less competitive market, but in the used market for private buyers they simply aren't desirable and the prices are reflecting that.

rruusu 2025-11-24 09:21

“luxury electric vehicles” 🫠

rruusu 2025-11-24 09:42

In this post, Marc Benioff wrote “$200K–$500K”. He had obviously just been pitched by Elon himself, so it’s definitely nowhere near the lower bound. https://xcancel.com/Benioff/status/1963264973452546482 Anyway, they are years away from any actual entry to the market. To be fair, Boston Dynamics' Atlas is also still just a research prototype, with no public availability. The $75K price is for Spot, their quadruped platform.

EczachlyLB 2025-11-24 11:00

My spouse had never heard him speak before one of the doge pressers this past winter. I think the quote was “wh…what? What the fuck is he saying? … people actually listen to this mumblefuck and think he sounds smart?”

Pikachu face! Bye 👋

newaccountzuerich 2025-11-24 12:30

Only when on his own..

bbf_bbf 2025-11-24 12:52

Well, Elon did say that Tesla wasn't a car company. So he's sort-of made good on that proclamation by doing this. 😉

GBAGamer33 2025-11-24 13:21

Time to give him a 100 trillion dollar compensation package.

gwenver 2025-11-24 13:54

It's been less than a year since he went visibly hard right. Initially I think he even benefitted from that - given his money comes from stock price and government hand outs. Now reality is setting in. It would have eventually as his bullshitting became more apparent. Now, he has pretty much destroyed his cash cow and increased the scrutiny on himself.

gwenver 2025-11-24 13:56

Yeh, who wants a white car? Fine if it comes free with the job. Otherwise, who?

TrueCompetition6694 2025-11-24 14:26

Why? Tesla doesn’t stand chance against BYD, et.al. Musk knows that. Why embarrass yourself?

EverythingMustGo95 2025-11-24 14:45

80% of Tesla’s value will be Optimus? So even Elon expects Tesla and Robotaxi sales to plummet drastically? That’s my interpretation because Optimus sales will be terrible

praguer56 2025-11-24 14:52

My guess is that they'll phase out the X for the Model Y L that's coming from China. On the Model S, it's just not all that great of a car anymore. The competition from China is what will kill it.

Sir_Isaac_Tootin 2025-11-24 15:43

This article is from July 31st.

AustinBike 2025-11-24 16:09

Tell me you have too much inventory without telling me you have too much inventory. It makes sense to not let people configure their own and only pick from inventory when they are sitting on too many unsold vehicles. All of this makes sense in relation to their plummeting sales. If they had dropped production that news would point to the systemic demand issues that they have been ignoring. So instead of saying the emperor has no clothes, they slowly make other less visible changes. But you can't polish a turd.

EverythingMustGo95 2025-11-24 16:43

Thanks for the info. Elon is only fooling himself by setting unrealistic expectations. Whatever Optimus turns out to be is priced way out of the home market, business would find little use for it at that price. The fool should realize he should scale it back to joint ventures with university engineering departments, whenever they can reach an affordable useful product he can try marketing it. His current plans will fail.

Sir_Isaac_Tootin 2025-11-24 17:14

The OP article is from July 31st.

Beartrkkr 2025-11-25 02:10

They’re a chip company now. To hell with cars.

No_Discipline_7380 2025-11-25 05:24

Good job, but it needs more stuttering and filler words

Parking_Revenue5583 2025-11-25 11:51

The s and X aren’t really euro friendly cars. Like ford only sold a 1,000 giant trucks you can’t drive on most tiny city streets.

rbetterkids 2025-11-25 13:39

Agree.

Final-Cut-483 2025-11-26 01:00

Thats one way to say they have no order. Like "you cant fire me, I quit"

[deleted] 2025-11-26 12:45

Tesla CANT SELL THOSE MODELS anymore... because nobody wants them. "nu uh no girls allowed! cant get in my club!" yeah sure they stand in line around the corner for a car made by someone with a wrinkled peep
