Tesla FSD Failed to see Multiple Left-Only Markings and Drives Onto Sidewalk, Damaging the Car. The name Full self driving is wrong and very misleading. Must change the name FSD

It's amazing they had three crashes in Austin with just a few miles per car per day, just a few cars, and a specially limited and specially mapped area.  Tesla and it's influencers are constantly lying about the disengagement rates and that's now proven

fartsfromhermouth 2025-09-20 20:22

It does what it says just not safely or reliably

luv2block 2025-09-20 20:24

Sheesh.. It's called "corporate puffery". Everyone takes things so literally nowadays.

y4udothistome 2025-09-20 20:24

Fysd full yourself driving!

Computers_and_cats 2025-09-20 20:27

I'm convinced FSD relies solely on map data and the cameras are just there for the fun of it.

Fuskeduske 2025-09-20 20:27

Stock up 10%

bonfuto 2025-09-20 20:37

Full self driving doesn't mean it won't drive into a light pole.

fartsfromhermouth 2025-09-20 20:40

Right it fully drove itself into the accident promise kept mission accomplished

spaham 2025-09-20 20:46

Full Suicidal Driving

rgrindl 2025-09-20 21:00

In China the name FSD was disallowed. They have to call it Intelligent Assisted Driving in China.

Markus__F 2025-09-20 21:11

Ignoring the left-only is one thing. Can happen if you do end-to-end AI instead of rule based methods. Not seeing the raised curb is the other. If only there were a sensor that could see 3D shapes reliably, even in the dark...

nolongerbanned99 2025-09-20 21:15

Govt says it has killed people

[deleted] 2025-09-20 21:36

Full Self Destruction

Striker40k 2025-09-20 21:39

It's making a false statement, which can lead to injuries and fatalities. There have been hundreds of accidents while FSD was engaged and fatalities as well.

Lollerscooter 2025-09-20 21:40

If you've driven one, it sure feels that way

[deleted] 2025-09-20 21:45

AND safety drivers. Do not forget those.

When China is more ethical than your company, you know you are the bad guys.

bobfrank222 2025-09-20 22:24

I mean, the obstacle decision avoidance is AI too, so same issue as the lanes.

[deleted] 2025-09-20 22:47

Mine tried to pull me in front of a semi on a 65 mph highway yesterday. I’m basically still using it just so I can yell fuck you Elon every time I disengage.

[deleted] 2025-09-20 22:48

Exactly - they do this on purpose to keep the share price up.

Initial-External-709 2025-09-20 23:34

please get rid of tesla before it cost your life

[deleted] 2025-09-20 23:50

I wish I could dude. I bought it in 2023 and I still owe $25k on it. If I sold it I’d take a bath

Zelda2isEasierThan1 2025-09-20 23:55

I saw the original post in a different sub. The driver admits to not paying attention. This is something that the AI cultists like Musk and Sam Altman don’t see as a problem. The car drives through a turn lane and over a barrier. A low barrier to be sure, but a barrier nonetheless. The software should know the lane setup in advance and not even be in the lane in the first place.

yugami 2025-09-21 01:28

Don't worry they down graded the definition in musks pay package.  It's going to get worse

Low_Shirt2726 2025-09-21 04:01

Pretty sure you replied to someone being sarcastic

Bibblegead1412 2025-09-21 04:59

I'm shocked. Shocked. 😐

One-Entertainer-4650 2025-09-21 09:55

You mean LIDAR, the thing the Elmo says is stupid but could actually detect a 3d object or curb in this case? No way that would come back to bite him in the ass, no way no how.

NoGoodAtPickingAName 2025-09-21 15:20

TIL that AI / solar companies don’t make the safest cars. Or is it a tech company. Or taxi company? Robotic company?

LancelLannister_AMA 2025-09-21 15:50

Bigly

onwatershipdown 2025-09-21 16:12

Full shit drunk

SpectrumWoes 2025-09-21 16:50

Would you rather take a bath or a dirt nap?

[deleted] 2025-09-21 17:02

Haha touché

dtyamada 2025-09-21 21:40

Yes, the driver deserves the tiniest amount of credit for admitting their mistake and posting the video. Hopefully they learn their lesson before they kill someone else or themself.

dtyamada 2025-09-21 21:40

It's a diner company!

Substantial-Ad1775 2025-09-25 10:42

On September 20, 2025 My Tesla SFSD failed to properly make a turn and hit the sidewalk and curb, causing thousands of dollars in damage. So far Tesla has refused to accept any responsibility.

Substantial-Ad1775 2025-09-25 10:43

That is what happened to me Saturday, it failed to see a raised curb as well as making a turn into it.
