Oh no !  Whatever.

[deleted] 2025-07-30 11:30

It’s really hard to find someone in Europe who doesn’t hate Musk, so I guess the move is justified

kneejerk2022 2025-07-30 11:40

Good time to be a wrecker as parts become more scarce.

[deleted] 2025-07-30 11:41

So the facelift is on its way?

scavno 2025-07-30 11:57

Apparently Norwegians love him. We buy Tesla’s like crazy, especially the model Y.

slanecek 2025-07-30 12:12

There was a facelift a month ago.

ShotBandicoot7 2025-07-30 12:20

Should be another 10% pump day then. 🚀

I-Pacer 2025-07-30 12:24

Just the 3 and the Y to go now…

meatbag2010 2025-07-30 12:49

Can't remember the last time in the UK that I saw either S or X, shame really as the S actually looked half decent. The 3 and Y only seem to appear in white and are possibly the most boring looking cars currently on the road.

Valoneria 2025-07-30 14:03

Same with Danes. Fucking idiots

BigMax 2025-07-30 15:02

I know it's all complicated, and there's a lot going on. But maybe early on, we should have thought... "Hey, if one of his priorities is spelling "S3XY" with his car models, then maybe this guy isn't the brilliant genius we think he is?"

homeworkrules69 2025-07-30 15:02

In the US and Canada. Those haven’t made it to Europe (yet).

Patient-Expert-1578 2025-07-30 15:05

I think it’s more they in general prefer electric cars, but Tesla is losing market share in there as well

Valoneria 2025-07-30 15:08

Oh sure we like our EVs, but there has been a noticeable uptick in Junipers around here, and when i read the online discussions, a lot of people disregard the issues because the car is cheap and "good".

slanecek 2025-07-30 15:18

I think that Tesla removed them forever. There just isn't a demand for S and X in Europe.

scavno 2025-07-30 15:30

No, it by far the most common car around here. “Best range and utility for the lowest price”.

They gave up on the S and X in the UK when they decided not to make RHD models. Half heartedly offering those who pre-ordered them a LHD car or a Y.

sonicmerlin 2025-07-30 16:02

The model S fills a very specific and important niche. Elon however has gotten bored of cars and doesn’t care anymore.

[deleted] 2025-07-30 16:25

Perhaps most people bought those cars before Musk turned into mechahitler. who knew ketamine makes people evil?..

FunkyPete 2025-07-30 16:42

Eh, branding can be kind of weird. Spending money developing fart noises for luxury cars probably should have raised more eyebrows.

Exact_Mastodon_7803 2025-07-30 17:17

Yeah but Tesla was so far ahead for quite a while, that’s why. And hey, I hate him, hated him 10 years ago. But it’s understandable why they were successful.

They hired a Yorkshire marketing director. No more S3XY, just 3Y by gum now.

scavno 2025-07-30 19:27

No, the entire point of my post was that they still sell like crazy. I see “refreshed” model Y and model 3 on the road every day.

Treewithatea 2025-07-30 19:48

The Model S and X were already struggling massively in Europe before Elons stuff. You still see a few if em around because they sold quite well during the early stages, sort of 2015-2020 roughly. But they were barely updated over the years, received a ton of competition and were notorious for their really poor build quality. A Model 3/Y will genuinely have significantly better build quality than the S/X which doesnt make any sense when Model 3/Y cost 40-60k while some paid up to 150k for their Model X here in Germany.

Yeah in Sweden Model S has been selling 1-2 per month for a while now. Not so popular.

PM_ME_UR_QUINES 2025-07-30 20:58

What's the niche? Bigger sedan? Or something more unique I'm missing?

sonicmerlin 2025-07-30 22:44

It’s a larger Sedan with air suspension, longer 400 mile range, way higher horsepower especially in the Plaid version, more bells and whistles like dashboard screen. It’s a halo product that establishes their credentials just as Toyota uses Lexus. The problem is Elon has neglected it because he’s lost himself to drugs instead of fixing the noise and vibration issues of the cabin. Their model S production lines should be fully amortized by now. I bet they could produce them at almost BoM without losing money. They could easily have a price advantage over competitor luxury vehicles.

Fockelot 2025-07-31 00:50

Weird power move but ok.

TannedSam 2025-07-31 10:31

Tesla BEV market share in Denmark: Q2 2023: 36.38% Q2 2024: 18.22% Q2 2025: 6.22% Tesla's sales in Norway actually were pretty good in Q2 (we will see if that holds up in Q3 - early data shows a bit of a fade there).  But sales in Denmark have absolutely tanked even with the refreshed Model Y fully available.

North-Outside-5815 2025-07-31 17:36

Their only actual luxury vehicle. Even that has been made worse and worse over the years by Musk’s meddling.

Bobinss 2025-07-31 18:32

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think the only place they make the S and X models is Fremont, CA, USA. They don't make very many of them. I would guess Tesla only wants to sell Teslas made in Germany to the rest of Europe.

linknewtab 2025-07-31 18:47

Why would they want that?

mtaw 2025-07-31 19:33

Well even those numbers are arguably too high given the guy's advocating the USA takes over Greenland. But maybe not, there's a percentage of the population who just DGAF about anybody else.

neliz 2025-07-31 20:25

Good news, now it's easier to see how few chbertrucks are sold!

Maximum-Objective-39 2025-08-01 20:18

I mean, the Danes seem to be nuts to begin with. You have to be in order to keep stealing from Mighty King Neptune.

Maximum-Objective-39 2025-08-01 20:22

Tesla is like one of those shapeshifting villains that starts to meltdown as they get closer to being defeated. "Now I'm a Car Company! A Solar Company! A robotics Company! An AI Company! A . . . Burger Joint?!"

Maximum-Objective-39 2025-08-01 20:27

S3XY could have, on its own, been dismissed as just a little cheekiness. The problem is that it became a pattern of behavior. The irony for Musk is that now . . . His marketing is kinda boring.

Debesuotas 2025-08-03 09:54

lol, so they removed the only reasonable option from their line up? Model 3 interior is just hideous, wouldn\`t buy one for the interior alone...
