Good cause you know it isn't full Self Driving

JRLDH 2025-07-14 13:46

This is the most obvious reaction. I actually lost a bit of respect for people in general after having interacted with Tesla disciples/customers who \*WANT\* to be lied to. It's incredible how some Tesla customers defend this lie as if their life depended on it. Any time this topic is discussed on self driving or Tesla forums, since 2019 (when I bought a Model 3 and was surprised at the massive gap between advertisement and reality - and no, I didn't buy that stupid "F"SD because it was obviously a lie - I regret that I bought a product from such an unethical company though), there are innumerable people defending this fraudulent system. It's fascinating.

bpm6666 2025-07-14 13:47

But if it's not FSD, how can we justify 200 x P/E? /S

OldNewbie616 2025-07-14 14:00

P/E is 200i. They earn -5i billion dollars a year. Multiply by 200i and they are worth the market cap of 1 trillion bucks.  Learn some complex math, bro.

luv2block 2025-07-14 14:08

Technically it is FSD... just that it's crash-prone.

Sarcasm tags ruin all sarcasm

AntiqueFigure6 2025-07-14 14:41

Fausse conduite autonome?

Dommccabe 2025-07-14 14:49

Well played France. I just wished other places stood their ground and not let the con man Musk pretend his products could do something they are incapable of doing.

zedk47 2025-07-14 15:11

It's FSD on investors PowerPoints, just not on the road

VindicatedFox 2025-07-14 15:21

I think some of their lives do depend on it because they are balls deep in the stock

Engunnear 2025-07-14 15:33

Tesla to France: *BURRRRRRRRP*

Engunnear 2025-07-14 15:35

What astounds me is how people with only a passing interest in Tesla have somehow come to believe that they have cracked actual autonomy, and it's only those darn regulators holding them back.

crosstheroom 2025-07-14 15:54

Tesla should be forced to call it: Fool Self Driving.

blake_ch 2025-07-14 15:54

It is full self driving! It just needs to have a supervisor on the passenger seat, a follow-up car, and a remote operator. C'mon, don't stop on *details*

relaxyourshoulders 2025-07-14 16:18

IIHS calls Tesla the deadliest brand on the road. The fact that Musk hasn’t been indicted for flat out lying about FSD since 2018 and causing hundreds of deaths blows my mind. It’s even more insane that these things were allowed to be tested on public roads.

DisplacerBeastMode 2025-07-14 16:24

Fucking thank you 🤣

Status_Ad_4405 2025-07-14 16:41

FSD = you fully drive it yourself

Lorax91 2025-07-14 16:54

It's Fully Supervised Driving.

Stormbringer-0 2025-07-14 16:54

Laughed reading this in Peter Seller’s inspector Cluseau voice 😂

draftstone 2025-07-14 17:26

I have a Tesla because I needed to change my car, wanted an electric car and Tesla was the only one able to deliver in time, but damn, I hate so many Tesla owners out there who just can't see any flaws in the car. It is as if Tesla reinvented the wheel and can do no wrong. The car is FAR from perfect, both hardware and software, but for so many of them, Tesla is better than anything else out there by a mile, which is crazy! I hate to be associated with those crazies! I also drive a motorcycle, and the cars I look out the most on the road are Teslas because I know how autopilot/fsd is so bad and so many drivers are relying on it!

secretlyjudging 2025-07-14 17:30

Fickle Self Driving

Haunting-Writing-836 2025-07-14 18:11

Look. The new fully autonomous, zero driver needed complete full self driving car needs to be closely monitored and the driver needs to be ready to step in at my moment. Who would think it was any different? Where is the confusion?

spicybright 2025-07-14 18:57

It's wild other countries haven't cracked down on this. FSD is close to selling "Elmo's Miracle Cure All Tincture!" that's just water with a tiny bit of sodium added.

nolongerbanned99 2025-07-14 19:12

Finally a country that has balls. USA just continues to allow tesla to test their junk on public roads rather than doing it the proper way. This below is what USA should do and FTC and NHTSA should collaborate to fine them to this deception and lying. ‘The agency criticized Tesla for marketing its Level 2 driver-assistance features as Full Self-Driving, which could mislead consumers. The FSD system is reportedly not even activated in France. The DGCCRF noted, “The marketing language overstates the actual functionality and clearly constitutes false advertising’

schtickshift 2025-07-14 19:38

In France FSD stands for French Self Drive. No wonder there is confusion over this🤓

whisperwrongwords 2025-07-14 20:15

Marketing is unreasonably effective when you cultivate a rabid and delusionally fanatical base that does the proselytizing for you to all people who aren't paying attention. Case in point: Apple. They were the first to pull that off. Tesla just followed suit

AndyTheSane 2025-07-14 20:38

Does that mean that if I take my car to the top of a hill and leave it with the handbrake off, it's doing full self driving, briefly.

Underradar0069 2025-07-14 22:50

It is “Full self drive” by the driver.

CrushyOfTheSeas 2025-07-14 23:06

And physics. Don’t forget about the physics holding them back.

pailhead011 2025-07-14 23:24

Geez, this isn't just my friend Michael?

TheFoxsWeddingTarot 2025-07-14 23:51

In French it’s Fool Self Driving. /s

Ryanj37 2025-07-14 23:54

Supervised unsupervised full self driving autopilot (only available in limited areas and limited conditions)

Ok-Bill3318 2025-07-15 01:42

Fake self driving

Ok-Bill3318 2025-07-15 01:43

1.5m/month = 18m/yr = Elon will do nothing That fine is a rounding error. Unfortunate because I agree 100% with their premise.

Computers_and_cats 2025-07-15 02:02

I prefer F\*\*king Sh\*\*ty Driver.

NotIsaacClarke 2025-07-15 10:52

Foolish Scammed Drivers Full Self Disassembling

QVRedit 2025-07-15 19:08

Yes, it’s still just ‘Advanced Driver Assist’

praguer56 2025-07-15 19:15

And that's all it's ever been.

[deleted] 2025-07-16 02:48

Must be a fellow engineer

Tosh_00 2025-07-16 12:48

Full Self Dying would be more accurate

CoconutMountain1095 2025-07-16 21:47

It only means that you don’t have to push the care to move it around.

WildDogOne 2025-07-23 20:32

I am still pissed that the EU commission didn't go through with stopping them calling it autopilot (which is also a clear misnomer imho)

SurfSorcerer 2025-08-02 14:02

oh, look, people in actual democracies holding companies accountable. must be nice.
