Tesla is Testing FSD in Madrid

Jashugita | 2025-07-05 19:57 | 90 views

it seems Tesla is testing FSD in Madrid and other european capitals without bothering in requesting permission from traffic authorities [https://www.elperiodico.com/es/economia/20250705/tesla-lia-madrid-probar-sistema-119375796](https://www.elperiodico.com/es/economia/20250705/tesla-lia-madrid-probar-sistema-119375796)

Their request to test in Stockholm was denied so hopefully they comply in Sweden anyway

The Con is dead in the USA so need new Marks.

Yes, and does he think they dont have video in Madrid. Expect to see vids when things go wrong.

Since when does tesla or their cars ever follow laws? Either on the road or in the books, they're always doing shady stuff

Hzntl 2025-07-05 22:53

Don't know about Madrid, but I can't see it succeeding in Rome.

oregon_coastal 2025-07-05 23:28

The EU isn't exactly the best place to FAFO

oregon_coastal 2025-07-05 23:29

I can only imagine what Italian locals would do to those things.

Beezelbubba 2025-07-05 23:45

No way the EU let's him go forward with.FSD

Notice the US propaganda outlets (teslarati, etc) simply say "testing in Europe continues while pursuing regulatory permits" while the EU news outlets not wholly owned by the American oligarchs tell the truth: "Tesla illegally testing AI on our unsuspecting public". The way they are categorizing this as an AI infraction instead of a roadway infraction is telling. Enter GDPR and some serious fines. FAFO fElon!

The eu isn't immune to corruption my friend. Putin money got us North Stream despite all of eu + US shouting no. FSD will take orders of magnitude less bribes than that 😔 Elon can personally bankroll enough people to make it happen

Jashugita 2025-07-06 07:24

Madrid is bad for driving but a bigger challenge would be the se-30 and the V centenary Bridge in Seville.

In Europe it is very likely Tesla will have to provide a list of things FSD can and cannot do and in what conditions. Then if Tesla cannot do what they say they can and there is any damage to either people or property, it will be deemed responsible and have to pay. Customer protection laws are very very strict. This won’t depend on a judge’s interpretation of the law because no car will be usable with FSD without Tesla agreeing to this. Now they might change all the traffic laws, customer protection laws, jurisprudence, buy all the judges and European functionaries and even the Consitution to bow to one of the most unpopular person in the world for Europeans, you seem to have very good information on this, but it definitely won’t be done tomorrow.

I'm an EU citizen and I've taken some consumer protection law classes in college as well as spent years in automotive engineering so there's no need for you to lecture me. There are ways around any of that. Consumer protection laws are totally irrelevant for this thread as it is about very limited FSD tests which aren't a consumer product. Safety legislation will be bypassed by classifying this as a limited test.

I’m not going anywhere near Madrid for now. Let Elon kill someone else.

AgentSmith187 2025-07-06 14:17

I disagree its a great spot for the second part.

oregon_coastal 2025-07-06 15:45

[deleted] 2025-07-07 10:17

Never going to happen, EU actually cares about peoples safety.

enmotent 2025-07-07 20:02

It is just a marketing video. It is not going to happen anytime soon.
