I’d preface this by saying this is for the full interior including the door trim and center arm rest.

Fire69 2025-01-25 13:12

>Includes: >1x Driver Seat >1x Passenger Seat >4x Rear Seat Bolster Trims >2x Rear Seat Cushion Trims

007meow 2025-01-25 13:18

1/3 of the cost of the upgrade to Plaid

oliphant428 2025-01-25 14:11

Where do you get that impression? The listing states just the front and rear seats.

owenbo 2025-01-25 14:16

I would instantly add these seats to any Tesla I’d buy! I would never buy the performance model Y but I would add the performance seats as an option to the RWD any time!

Tellittomy6pac 2025-01-25 14:35

It says it when you click the link

jamesonm1 2025-01-25 14:37

Wish I could get these on my MXP!

oliphant428 2025-01-25 14:39

Tellittomy6pac 2025-01-25 14:41

Oops sorry idk why I read you comment and thought you were saying it was only the front seats. I’m guessing he is saying the door cards and center arm rest based on what changes color when you select the different options

tangosukka69 2025-01-25 15:00

this has been available for at least a month or two already

OrganicNebula 2025-01-25 16:29

They’re less comfortable, easy pass

Nakatomi2010 2025-01-25 16:34

Checkpoint

SnootyGoose 2025-01-25 17:03

Wish they were compatible with my 22 M3P. I know the seats will bolt in, but the ventilation functionality won’t work. Unplugged Performance was trying to get them to work on older cars but I never found a video on their conclusion.

CillGuy 2025-01-25 17:04

Can I put them in my Model 3?

DuneProphecy 2025-01-25 17:20

No one is going to pay fror these

DarshUX 2025-01-25 17:33

Isn't this standard in most BYDs?

Tesla_RoxboroNC 2025-01-25 17:36

Yeah, if I could afford a Plaid, this would piss me off to canceling my order.

[deleted] 2025-01-25 17:38

Yea, still don't understand why the XP doesn't have these seats.

Fancy_Load5502 2025-01-25 17:57

I would love to see the Model 3 P with regular seats.

long-and-soft 2025-01-25 18:39

I don’t think the MYP has different seats than the RWD or LR, unless you’re referring to the launch upgrade that just came out?

Fun-Sundae4060 2025-01-25 19:06

Why lol

Tesla_RoxboroNC 2025-01-25 19:07

I have already put a lot of money in the that last included everything now pay extra for special seats. No thonk you.

vexx786 2025-01-25 19:10

Other than ventilation do they work okay? Does the heated part work okay? I want to put them in my 2020 m3p

Fun-Sundae4060 2025-01-25 19:12

The older Plaids don't come with the sports seats, the new ones have it included

aaayyyuuussshhh 2025-01-25 19:26

Yep it's pretty steep but it does seem to include rear seat stuff too. If they could just sell the front 2 seats of the S or 3 for 3K that would be nice. They are quite solid seats

jopi888 2025-01-25 19:42

Considering the shit quality of my seats in 21 plaid, i might buy this to replace my seats, not as an “upgrade”.

HoochieDonuts 2025-01-25 19:43

Can you downgrade to the regular seats haha. I wanted to trade up to a Plaid but didn't like the feel of the sport seats.

Andreweller 2025-01-25 19:57

How old of a model S are these compatible with?

Tesla_RoxboroNC 2025-01-25 20:17

Hum the title say different, or am I missing something.

Gametme 2025-01-25 20:18

I’d trade seats with you. All white interior.

Gametme 2025-01-25 20:20

Looks like they’re only selling them for the plaid.

Fun-Sundae4060 2025-01-25 20:31

It means if you have an older Plaid you can buy the new Sports seats for $6000.

Tesla_RoxboroNC 2025-01-25 20:52

Okay, so the title fell short of the real meaning. Thanks for the info.

jh125486 2025-01-25 21:11

Wait, so my Plaid didn’t come with Plaid seats? My S is three years old :/ Seriously, after all the other shit, this is my last Tesla.

Bangaladore 2025-01-25 21:23

Reading comprehension is hard

jh125486 2025-01-25 21:34

(I’m making fun of Tesla’s marketing for the Plaid, maybe you weren’t aware.)

MrKnoble 2025-01-25 21:56

I wonder why they wouldn’t sell these as an upgrade to long range S, I would totally pay for them after a few more years. My seats usually wear out faster than anything else on a car, it would basically feel like a new car

Bangaladore 2025-01-25 22:59

What's funny about the marketing about the Plaid? I'm not sure anyone is aware...

jh125486 2025-01-25 23:47

- $20k Ceramic brakes required for actually stopping from speed. - Track package actually needed to run on the track, even though first tweets from Elon said it wasn’t necessary. - Immediate price drops wrecking depreciation: - Initial price of $139,990 reduced to $91,390 by September/October 2023. - Further drop to $87,990 by April 2024. - Price increased to $89,990 in July 2024 and then to $94,990 in December 2024. - Lack of track-ready durability for multiple components after software advertised “track ready”. - Lack of stalks/yolk: “focus groups loved it!”. Focus groups did not love it. - Tire replacements weren’t ready for months after purchase.

nah_you_good 2025-01-25 23:52

It says incompatible with my early refresh S (not plaid). So I'm guessing this is only for old S Plaids, or maybe only S's starting in 2023 or something? Could be some window between the refresh and when the new seats came out.

vinegarfingers 2025-01-26 04:36

Price is nuts but glad to see they are adding more options. Runs counter to what Elon said a few years back about limiting the number of unique vehicle configs to simplify the manufacturing process, which is hopefully a sign of confidence.

DepthHour1669 2025-01-26 09:36

These seats cost almost 25% the price of a whole ‘22 M3P lol

SnootyGoose 2025-01-26 16:16

Oh it’s pretty damn crazy to spend that much on some seats and trim. I’m guessing the price is padded to cover installation cost, but I dunno.

[deleted] 2025-01-26 18:26

Does anyone know why they don't allow you to switch the color of seats (e.g., from factory configured black to white)? I replaced the trim / panels in mine to white and have been waiting on the right price for salvage seats. The app locks you out from purchasing if it doesn't match what the car was originally configured for.

TheHalfChubPrince 2025-01-26 18:29

This actually isn’t too bad. The Recaro’s for my MX5 are $8,000 from the Mazda dealer. Nearly 1/3rd of the whole car lol

ArtificialSugar 2025-01-26 18:52

> Initial price of $135,000 reduced to $91,990 by October 2020. The plaid was announced in 2021

jh125486 2025-01-26 19:27

Yep, I mistyped 2023.

No_Seaweed_4650 2025-01-27 00:40

Now make it available for a Model X Plaid and just reuse the airbags to bring down the cost.

DarthPandora 2025-01-27 01:35

Says my early 2022 Plaid is compatible with it.

Trumbulhockeyguy 2025-01-27 02:02

What don’t you like? You might have just saved me 6k

Trumbulhockeyguy 2025-01-27 02:02

I want it too but another poster is saying he has them and they’re uncomfortable

nah_you_good 2025-01-27 18:46

I'm going to check on the app in a month or so and see if maybe they are available and it just isn't set correctly. I recall the roof rack and some other stuff saying incompatible but it definitely was. You might be able to order these by part number later directly from Service. People did this with the USB C upgraded parts on Model 3's and installed them in their pre-USB C '3.

c615586 2025-01-27 20:00

Do we get to keep the old seats?

ptj66 2025-01-28 08:01

That's why they are insolvent.

PEKKAmi 2025-01-28 21:40

You confuse the effect for the cause. Mazda prices the seat so much because 1) there aren’t too many willing to splurge on seats anyways and 2) the ones willing are able & willing to pay that much.

PEKKAmi 2025-01-28 21:42

Along with the exploding battery & half welded body. Old Chinese proverb translates to: you get what you pay for.

Working-Swordfish-8 2025-04-07 12:23

Anyone get them or have long term experience with both seats?

Awkward_Package_7292 2025-04-25 20:17

Also says my Dec ‘21 delivery S Plaid is compatible.

ReportDouble8291 2025-05-30 20:50

No. They will not release the original seat with airbags in the seat. The shop may attempt at removing the airbags, but they may ruin the seat in the process. These seats would be purchased as a replacement, unless you hate the originals so much that you want to throw them out. I found out the hard way. I purchased the sport seats, made an appointment at Tesla, and then was told i could not keep my original seats. I am trying to cancel my order.
