Does Sotftware Update Halt Charging?

I'm trying to charge from 75% to as close to 100% in the time it takes me to load the car now, but also have an update that I thought was scheduled for 1 am the last few nights, but never installed, so I'm wondering if I start the update now it will suspend charging whole the update is taking place or if I can go ahead and install the update and it may only suspend charging while it reboots after the update?

It will stop charging during the installation of the update (30 or so minutes it usually takes) but resume charging after.

I'm pretty sure my car doesn't charge when it is updating. 23MXP. For example, you can't apply an update when you are at a supercharger. It wont let you SC and update at the same time.

It stops charging to do the update and then regains charging.

Yes. My one week old MY finally updated from 13.2 to [14.2.2.5](http://14.2.2.5) Friday night and the update stopped the charging session. I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed it. I ended up having to restart the charging manually from the app once the update was done.

It charges while it is downloading but not while it is applying the update. It will resume charging after the update is completed.

That's what it did. The port (or handle?) turned from green to blue while updating, then resumed charging. I started the update at 82%, then it was able to charge up to 95% when I had to hit the road, which should be enough to return home with 30% so I won't have to worry about sentry shutting off under 20% when I stop for a couple errands on the way home.

Note that you can now change the low power mode threshold, so if you know 10% is fine to get you home, and you want sentry to stay on, change the low power mode threshold to 10%. I just wish they would let me adjust it up past 20% for when I'm visiting my sister. It takes ~23% to get to the nearest supercharger, so I have to manually put it in low power mode to make sure it doesn't drain itself past 30% or so. I guess most of the engineers are in the Bay area and can't imagine a place a person is more than 20 miles from a supercharger.

That's a good idea. I was thinking I don't need to charge to 100% everytime I drive up to my ski house if I don't plan on any side trips to other resorts as I can make it there and back with 70% battery, but then I'd run it down to near 10% if I start from 80%
