I live in Miami and it's already high 80s...should be fine. I feel like the ceiling glass does a good job of keeping things cool. And I just turn on climate control before I step out of the house. The seats and environment are cold by the time I step in.

Congratulations! This is an absolutely beautiful car. I got my MS LR in 2023 and there's an ever-so-small part of me that is considering trading up to a 2026 Plaid in the *exact* configuration you have. It's not gonna happen because mine is paid off, has FSD with HW4, full PPF, and ceramic tint, but snagging the best version of the best car in the last model year is soooo tempting.

Yeah how awesome would that be if the model s started to appreciate after they discontinue them and stop production. I would be watching the value of my plaid increase every month instead of sink! I highly doubt that will happen but it's a nice fantasy! It did eventually happen with the roadster but that was totally different on such a small limited production.

I have a 2024 MS with black interior and got tired of remembering to precool my car. 3M Prime XR+ Ceramic window tint on all windows greatly helps with heat rejection and keeping the car cool. Before, even when driving, I could still feel the sun baking my head. I did 70% on the front windshield and roof, 50% on the front doors and 35% in the rear. Does not noticeably impact visibility yet keeps the car a lot cooler. I ordered the tint via the Tesla app (instead of going through the installer directly) as the prices were similar ($1,099), but Tesla will warrant and replace the tint for free if there is an issue with the glass.

Got mine 2 years ago, and despite how annoying depreciation is, not planning to sell. With FUSC and FSD, I'll drive this until the wheels fall off. Hands down the best commuter and all around car. I got hooked since my very first one in 2016, A Model S 60D, also with FUSC. I have 65k miles on my Model S, and it rattles and whistles like a 90s era Hyundai.  Seat adjust button fell off, frunk latch broke, two different retracting door handles stopped working, “vegan leather” on the steering yoke peeling off, stitching in the drivers seat separating on the low left bolster….

It would have just been mentioned by Elon at some point maybe. AI5 is slated for the end of this year/beginning of next year, so depending when the final S comes off the line, it’s possible, but unlikely I’m guessing as it may be a headache to fit the car for a new computer and not worth it since it’s being discontinued. But if they do it, would be a way to future proof this beaut. As of right now, imo, you have the collector edition S that collectors will eventually be after.

I live in Miami as well with a white S. It’s the opposite with the glass roof. If parked all day (summer) outside of a garage it will be a furnace when you get in, especially with black interior.

I live in Miami. Those are Florida OEF plates 😂 As far as repairs after warranty— those are bridges I have to tackle when I get to them. For now, I have a pretty lengthy warranty period ahead of me.

The turn-signal buttons rotate with the steering wheels. In a situation where your steering wheel is not straight and you need to signal (say in a crooked corner or in a rotary), you are likely to take your eyes off the road to locate the buttons in order to signal. That's dangerous. Besides, it's widely reported, and I have also personally experienced with a 3, that the buttons fail to respond to presses sporadically for unknown reasons. That's dangerous too. These are just two I find most dangerous. I am sure there are more downsides to this regressive design on the web.

When I decided that I needed to buy the S, my first choice would ordinarily have been the dark blue from a couple of years ago. That was no longer an option, so I began to tinker and research and fell in love with how cohesive and sleek the black looks. Like a spaceship. The taillights and headlights have black housings— the emblem is black, the lettering is black— it all blends. Fell in love with it.

The entire car (to include all glass and wheels) is ceramic coated— the windows are tinted to only 30% because I really enjoy a high level of visibility, especially at night. The tints are hyper ceramic, though, so heat does not get through them. Nothing but the side windows are tinted.
