Full unsupervised FSD

1DarkDD | 2026-03-05 00:28 | 9 views

So, I have a 2021 Y and have the supervised FSD, heard that Tesla released the unsupervised FSD in it's new model, I asked Tesla AI and it said that is not true, that all their FSD is supervised and they have not released any full autonomous release,, yet I saw videos on TikTok. Any insight?

It’s not out for personal teslas yet. You may have seen the trend on TikTok where people try to trick the system with no one in the driver seat, or a video of an unsupervised Robotaxi in Austin or SF

There is no unsupervised FSD at this time.

Nope, FSD unsupervised is not yet, and no idea when it will be! Obviously, they have some beta testers testing it, as well as the cybercabs!

I live in SF and haven't seen the taxi yet. Thanks though

I’m not sure if SF has unsupervised Robotaxis yet, but [Austin sure does](https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaLounge/s/KV7x9JdVMh)

Elon said 2 weeks

Tesla has a ride-share service available in the SF Bay Area, but there is an employee in the driver’s seat. Install the Robotaxi app if you want to order one.

Source?

>I asked Tesla AI [...] >[...] yet I saw videos on TikTok. Mate, I say this with all the love a human can possess, you really need new sources of information.

Austin is the only place where truly unsupervised exists, and it’s in very few Tesla owned vehicles. Also remember that these cars have much newer hardware than yours so are much more capable.

I saw his presentation, he did say 2 weeks for new models and 2 months for older

Tesla AI is from Tesla app

Exactly, we purchased the full fsd few years back on the promise of full unsupervised fsd in the future, paid 10k when the Tesla was very expensive, they said they will upgrade the hardware for those who purchased the full fsd

SurfaceLapQuestion 2026-03-05 01:47

We did too, over 10 years ago with AP1, and then again with HW3. Let’s see what happens, I could see v14 lite coming but I think actual hardware upgrades coming could go either way. I love Teslas but I don’t trust their timelines and have little trust in their word on already sold vehicles.

I, uh, understand that. It's still an AI answer haha.

I don’t know if it’s true, but one of the guys working at the Tesla dealer by me said that with the latest update they still need something like 85 billions miles of fsd before they can even file for unsupervised mode.

HW5+ in probably 5-10 years is realistic
