Ugh. What was the resulting damage?

Outside_Chemist_5218 2026-03-04 23:52

Yikesssssssss

henh2o 2026-03-04 23:53

WOW! Horrible driver and he had all that room on the other side of him?? What was going on in his head?

LastManStandingToday 2026-03-04 23:54

drives like my wife..

junz415 2026-03-04 23:57

this was a 90 degree parking, and she could not even back up straight? must be reallly handicappped

wishingdeath 2026-03-04 23:58

Should we park next to handicap spots ?

WilliamG007 2026-03-04 23:58

Tell me you got their plate.

Vnessa_27 2026-03-05 00:03

Nope!

VIDGuide 2026-03-05 00:06

I kinda want to see the other angles to see if there was something crazy they were avoiding, or was it clear to just back out? I think their disability might be in driving skills..

Dry_Jellyfish641 2026-03-05 00:07

It’s kinda impressive tbh

kendrickplace 2026-03-05 00:07

This is why I don’t park next to handicap spots or cart corral

Her vehicle had a lot more visible damage than mine. Quicksilver for the win. We had a conversation before she got in her vehicle since I really like the CX-50, especially the trim she has. She told me she loved it because of the safety features and 360 view which helps her a lot because she’s missing a left eye! I wasn’t planning on leaving just yet, but I did get the gut feeling to move my car away from hers after she said that. I decided not to because she had so much room on the other side and thought there was no way she’d hit my car 🤦🏻‍♂️

hchn27 2026-03-05 00:09

I love how theirs absolutely no one on the opposite side of them …..like wtf

PackageNo24 2026-03-05 00:09

There was NOTHING lol. No one was walking, no vehicles, nothing

TaxNo2158 2026-03-05 00:12

Sorry, but some people should not have a license anymore.

InterstellarChange 2026-03-05 00:13

Well that's good, call her insurance and tell them yeah I know who was driving- she's missing her left eye!

PremiumUsername69420 2026-03-05 00:14

You married her.

Beginning_Pepper3630 2026-03-05 00:14

Ouch That hurts 🤕

gremlin155 2026-03-05 00:15

Apparently her head is missing a left eye.

woodstream 2026-03-05 00:15

Her missing a left eye kinda explains the driving, wow! Also that gut feeling is accurate.

woodstream 2026-03-05 00:16

OP mentioned in the thread that the driver is missing a left eye.

boxsterjax 2026-03-05 00:18

What was the actual point of turning the wheel so aggressively right, hitting the Tesla, and then immediately aggressively left as if they’re in a tight spot? Just asshole behavior or moronic? Edit: I just read OP’s comment about her missing an eye. I take it back, but should they really be driving in that condition?

junz415 2026-03-05 00:18

That’s sad, single vision is tough to drive

mebirkle 2026-03-05 00:21

Hope your wife has better eyesite

Loud-Way3333 2026-03-05 00:22

Some people are simply terrible drivers by nature.

EmployeeNo4241 2026-03-05 00:23

Some people really could use FSD. I’ve been telling everyone who has elderly parents to look into FSD.

Loud-Way3333 2026-03-05 00:23

You don’t need a left eye to avoid this, honestly. There’s tons of space—just pull **straight** out and move along.

abgtw 2026-03-05 00:24

Your plastic trim piece is very cheap to replace. I'd just do that and a little paint buff and you'll hardly notice anything happened!

Lucky_Bend9418 2026-03-05 00:24

I couldn't pass my driver's test w/o left eye. Have to see the left light. Manual says u have to have at least 180* vision.

PackageNo24 2026-03-05 00:26

Yep, I didn’t make a big fuss about it. Cleaned it up when I got home. Some minor scratches are still there but I can live with it

woodstream 2026-03-05 00:28

Yeah, she'd be an FSD candidate for sure.

idontmakehash 2026-03-05 00:30

Bro I'm missing my left eye, that's a bullshit excuse. I've done some silly shit in parking lots but NEVER this.

SoggyAlbatross2 2026-03-05 00:32

Really! We don't test for field of view here in the People's Republic of California.

idontmakehash 2026-03-05 00:32

Hard to get used to the change, not hard to drive with monocular vision. I train people who have newly lost an eye to drive, it's a hard adjustment but most people adjust with time and get probably 95% of their skill back.

Comprehensive_Fan140 2026-03-05 00:34

SirAxlerod 2026-03-05 00:36

You’re a stand up guy/gal. I do fear too much of the Tesla crowd is so obsessed with their car that they’d file a claim against a family for catching their 5-yr on Sentry accidentally scuff their paint.

TaxNo2158 2026-03-05 00:36

I feel like driving tests should be readministered every 5 years or so, or maybe after any accident, lol.

Heartbr0ken40 2026-03-05 00:37

My elderly LOVES FSD

CookieMons7er 2026-03-05 00:41

MMI4life 2026-03-05 00:49

Omacrontron 2026-03-05 01:00

nws103 2026-03-05 01:02

Was totally expecting it to be really tight on the other side or something, but nope! Dayam. I legit think some people just can’t process reverse and wheel direction. It just doesn’t compute for some reason and it’s painful to watch.

bada-bw 2026-03-05 01:05

If there is such a thing as negative common sense or this person must be on something.

will822 2026-03-05 01:07

There was nothing to her right. Why did she need to back out like that?

DamnRedhead 2026-03-05 01:12

Remember 95% recovery of shitty skills is still not good. But seriously, thank you for your service.

idontmakehash 2026-03-05 01:12

Ain't that the truth.

namestom 2026-03-05 01:15

Like the person that ran into the OP’s car, my dad has lost vision in one of his eyes. It is sometimes terrifying to ride with him! We have 2 teslas with FSD and I’m hoping he comes around to wanting one for his safety and others!

TwOhsinGoose 2026-03-05 01:15

Are they physically handicapped, or mentally handicapped?

BananaFreeway 2026-03-05 01:20

Quin1617 2026-03-05 01:22

I also drive with monocular vision. Though I always have so there wasn’t a change to get used to. I’m sure it’s not as bad as someone without any vision in their other eye. Mine are actually somewhat equal, but I can only focus out of one at a time.

Blarg197 2026-03-05 01:22

Can’t fight fate

Blarg197 2026-03-05 01:23

At least we know she’s a single eye donor 🤷‍♂️

idontmakehash 2026-03-05 01:25

Come join us in r/monocular

The_Saiyann 2026-03-05 01:28

Omg … I had literally the same situation but driving into a space. She tried to argue she only did “a bit of the damage”, despite a witness and footage. Idiots

Khelics 2026-03-05 01:30

Her saying she likes the 360 view cause it helps her a lot and still managing to hit ur car is diabolical

Only-Wonder-2610 2026-03-05 01:32

Arjeezenberg1 2026-03-05 01:33

r/unexpected reveal at the end. Sorry mate.

Ascending_Valley 2026-03-05 01:41

The other side was empty - there was no reason at all to maneuver in that way.

gamer-chachu 2026-03-05 01:42

And the whole right side was empty, too. 🤦‍♂️

TacklePuzzleheaded21 2026-03-05 01:42

Sooooo much space on the other side! Unforgivable

Direct_Gas_3623 2026-03-05 01:44

SocratesDouglas 2026-03-05 01:49

Some people have no idea what they're doing parking/unparking. They just turn the wheels and hope for the best

Ernapistapo 2026-03-05 01:49

FSD was created for this person.

Schnitzhole 2026-03-05 01:54

Just wow. No car to the right. They could have just turned the wheel fully to the left and backed up

Inner-bigGollum 2026-03-05 02:01

The real question here is how she lost that eye maybe she lost it by miscalculation

PermanentUsername101 2026-03-05 02:17

Damn straight. Take responsibility. And if a five-year-old did it it’s on you to control your five year-old. Most accidents are not accidents, they’re carelessness and lack of foresight.

PermanentUsername101 2026-03-05 02:18

Exactly could’ve just cranked the wheel hard in the other direction and pulled out clean. Missing an eye or not that’s just stupid behavior.

TaipanTacos 2026-03-05 02:21

Your comment sounds offensive, but you’re right. The accessibility provided by FSD is unmatched in many respects.

TasteWaste3771 2026-03-05 02:28

It's wild to me people like the guy you're responding to is actually the majority on most of reddit. Doesn't own up to their own actions and seems to think it's okay to go around causing property damage. Then again these people probably never leave their mom's basement, so they never get into these scenarios themselves.

njw9890 2026-03-05 02:29

Wow - time to give up the keys. Terrible driver

drnicko18 2026-03-05 02:35

I honestly thought she might be trying to teach OP a lesson by parking so close to a disabled spot, just looked deliberate. If it was accidental she needs to undertake a driving assessment. I’d question if her disability is affecting her driving skills (eg, maybe she can’t see her left periphery well, through neck stiffness or sight issues)

abgtw 2026-03-05 02:38

To be fair, if someone scraped your perfect Ferrari it would be upsetting. Teslas were at one time considered luxury vehicles, and priced accordingly. So I can't fault people for trying to keep it nice.

morgan423 2026-03-05 02:41

It's a special class of people who can hit an empty, properly-parked parked car and then argue that they have anything less than 100% liability for what happened.

Another reason to never park near handicap spots even though they are usually up in front. Just not worth it.

statingtheobvious70 2026-03-05 03:24

Plenty of people have usable vision in only one eye. Unless it’s a very recent thing and she hasn’t adjusted, it has not much to do with having that level of poor judgement. 999,999 out of 1,000,000 driving with one eye get out of that spot fine in terms of visual perception. OP just hit the Lotto

Jbsmitty44 2026-03-05 03:25

I will say, I have a Rivian too — and 360 isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. I definitely haven’t learned to trust it yet… low key like the system better on the Model Y, I think.

TravelBug87 2026-03-05 03:26

Eh, I kinda wanted to give her a pass cause of the eye thing, but it's more of a "why are you turning right to begin with" which really isn't a vision issue. It's more of a common sense issue. She presumably saw the car was there while getting in her own.

Willing_Eggplant_275 2026-03-05 03:28

That’ll buff right out

boxsterjax 2026-03-05 03:41

Agreed. Some people just don’t belong on the road.

ruggj 2026-03-05 03:42

sparkyblaster 2026-03-05 04:11

Clearly she is over hyping the 360

Josorioalcerro 2026-03-05 04:15

This happened to me on the very first day I took delivery of my model Y. A Guy came back tipsy, late at night and parked in a similar way hit the MY in the exact same place with his front tire. Sentry mode captured everything.

Fearless_Abies_2549 2026-03-05 04:18

Time for her to get a Tesla with FSD

Ancient_Work4758 2026-03-05 04:22

Interesting coincidence the emoji is covering the left eye

albelthewiked666 2026-03-05 04:28

I don’t understand why they didn’t just pull straight out. They have nothing next to them on the other side😑 I mean I can’t see what’s behind them but dayum!! After reading some of the comments: I now understand 🤣

its_krypt0n1te83 2026-03-05 04:40

After all that turning, there wasn't even a car or obstacle to the right of the moving vehicle?!?!?!? What was the need for all that maneuver?

Piade87 2026-03-05 04:44

I heard and read that sentry mode drains the batter so for a while, im "economizing" mine. First week of purchasing a model 3 and sufered the same as you. But the (complete the curse here the way you want call it) left no paper for sorry, nor the cctv cameras caught the plates, as theyre for monitoring and create file for the administration, not for recording . The store in front of where I parked said the cameras they have couldnt reach any footage closer to my car, as theyre far positioned. Left with no choice but a loss of a black car scuffs in my side doors . No more battery saving without sentry mode.

joesaidthat 2026-03-05 05:02

I understand the lack of a left field of vision but she had all of that space on the other side!

finnfirep 2026-03-05 05:23

I was able to join the bash comment on the lady then see the parking handicap sign. I guess OP should've known better what the sign is for and the reason why there are usually extra no parking on both side of the Handicap park.

Excellent-Noise5323 2026-03-05 05:25

She better not buy a lotto ticket. She needs to keep all that luck for the next person she gives a heart attack

SF_E60M5 2026-03-05 05:28

Was this woman high?? How could you hit a vehicle with so much room on the other side.

balanced_crazy 2026-03-05 05:28

What the f was that driver even trying to do….

SirAxlerod 2026-03-05 05:30

Oh knock it off, I didn’t say any of that. I complimented the OP on their decision. They had every legal right to pursue remediation but chose not to. You can’t control what others do or what nature does. You can only control your decisions and how you react to things. I’ve scuffed two parked cars before and was able to contact the driver both times and both times the driver told me not to ever worry about it. And I would tell the same to anyone who would contact me with the same. Now I’ve probably had over 50 doors dings over 3 decades of driving, 8 cars, and nobody has left a note, but I don’t care about any of them. The OP made a decision that it wasn’t a big deal. And it’s not. I have plenty of dings and scrapes on all our current cars, including my MY. And I don’t care. It’s just a car. We’re talking about a car. An appliance that does a job. An appliance that depreciates every day. An appliance that we choose to take out in public and park on private parking lots with hazards. An appliance that’s gonna kick the can one day and end up in a scrap yard and those scratches and dings will be and always were, meaningless. It’s not a painting, it’s an appliance. And a scratched appliance does just as good of a job as a pristine one. Life’s too short to worry about tiny dings and scratches on an appliance. You will feel so liberated when you realize it’s just a car.

wizkidweb 2026-03-05 05:35

I'm surprised they test at all. Doesn't that require showing identification?

wizkidweb 2026-03-05 05:38

This. And the frequency of these tests should be even more often if you're elderly, have a relevant disability (like missing an eye), or have any moving violations.

Hooka54 2026-03-05 05:40

Now why wouldn’t you back out straight?

wizkidweb 2026-03-05 05:41

It saved me from a bind when one of my contacts fell out while I was driving on the highway. I'm basically blind without them. I just redirected the nav to a lot off the next exit and it found a spot and parked for me. It really is a gamechanger.

le_True 2026-03-05 05:49

Thats why i dont park next to handicap

ashburn2k 2026-03-05 06:01

Vonplinkplonk 2026-03-05 06:51

Turn your head to the left, turn your eye to the right. Check mate, Cyclops is on the road.

Own_Reaction9442 2026-03-05 06:56

In Michigan it's 140 degrees, or 110 if you have a note from a physician. My driving instructor joked that whether you could drive with one eye or not depended on how big your nose was.

TasteWaste3771 2026-03-05 07:15

Yeah. It's also just a life, what even is the point of it? We live, then we die. Everything is ephemeral. Better to not care about anything, right? Nothing matters in the end, we just go into the nether where nothing exists and nothing will ever exist. You're gonna say you don't care about anything? Don't care to keep anything nice? Then you're kinda just a slob of a person. At least here are some sane corners of reddit where we do have car enthusiasts. To you, a car is a point a to b thing that takes you a place. You'll be ecstatic when you don't have to drive anymore. To us, it's something we cherish and take care of. We enjoy the act of driving, we may enjoy washing and taking care of our car. It's no different than collecting fine art, or real estate. And now are you gonna go and tell me that someone that damages those types of property should also be spared accountability? What makes those properties different? Is it that you care more for them? Well, there you go contradicting yourself, then. And if not, well, I feel sorry for you, for someone who doesn't care for anything has nothing they really live for. We are not the same, but supposing that everyone should think a certain way is exactly the problem with people like you. And you people are why we need laws rather than just have common sense rule. It's why in the real world, responsible people hold others accountable as they would hold themselves. This is something we learn early in childhood. There are consequences for actions, no matter the intent.

kripsus 2026-03-05 07:25

Its has nothing to do with the eye and if it was she should not have a license. Just a really bad driver

eagleone1one 2026-03-05 07:59

What sensors do new Teslas have that need to be calibrated?

CovertObserver 2026-03-05 08:18

Nothing exists in a vacuum. Would i want to make the little scraches and dings disappear? Of course. Would i force a many hundred, possibly 1000 dollar expense on someone to have it done? Of course not. The cost is just so out of proportion with the actual damage.

UpperFerret 2026-03-05 11:28

One eye? I thought you legally cannot operate a vehicle with no depth perception

Big_Fortune_4574 2026-03-05 11:30

Oh she’s missing an eye? Well thank god because it would be hard to explain this otherwise. I was thinking drugs

Sendorm 2026-03-05 11:34

Driving like this has nothing to do with missing an eye.

Content_Camel5336 2026-03-05 11:44

Many people just don’t know how to drive. Should have backed up straight and far enough before even slowly making the wheel turn.

Content_Camel5336 2026-03-05 11:45

Autopilot for everyone. Safer with autopilot. People don’t know how to drive.

Low_Limit4524 2026-03-05 12:15

Old people are the demographic that needs self driving cars the most. They shouldn't be controlling it. At this point, cars can drive better than most people and better than ALL old people.

FreeSeaworthiness307 2026-03-05 12:27

I only have vision in my left eye and can drive just fine. I avoid mistakes like this by making more head turns and being more cautious than when I had two eyes. My Tesla and FSD have really mad driving so much easier.

Particular_Living584 2026-03-05 12:48

Wow. Considering how much space there is over on the right side they had to get as close to yours as possible. This is why all cars need FSD as standard incase someone like that buys one.

NobodyCatchinUp24 2026-03-05 13:14

Rule of thumb: NEVER park next to any handicap spot. I’d rather walk 300 feet knowing that I won’t get side swiped just like this. Nothing blows my mind when it comes to people driving that aren’t blind. Imagine when their blind and should never on green earths be driving in the first place.

tomtendo 2026-03-05 13:46

She should NOT be driving.

Nicnl 2026-03-05 13:54

Missing left eye or not, when you want to get outside of perpendicular parking..... you just DON'T counter steer when going forward This person simply doesn't know how to drive Perpendicular parkings it the simplest ffs I could get out of suck a parking sense with my eyes closed, just relying on the ultrasonic sensors

JustTryinToLearn 2026-03-05 13:57

I had a really similar thing happen to me just a week and a half ago. Im going to the local collision center and trying to also file for IDV. Insurance is claiming their policy supersedes my state’s laws on IDV. Good luck OP!

VerifiedVerifiable 2026-03-05 14:22

Packing-Tape-Man 2026-03-05 14:41

The twist at the end was crazy -- she had absolutely no obstruction on the other side! And still couldn't manage it. That's just totally bad driving instincts.

There's a lot of reasons. Mostly cancer, then accidents. Mine was a birth defect.

Red_Dew 2026-03-05 15:42

This is why you never park so close to a building front door. Park away from door dingers and WALK

Electronic_Tart_1174 2026-03-05 15:43

Which is irrelevant to what she did here. One eye or not does not excuse her backing out that way. She obviously has no idea how the concept of reversing out works. Pulling up and getting CLOSER to the other car before backing out is a mental issue (as in lack of understanding) not an eye issue.

Broozer98 2026-03-05 16:01

How hard is it do drive straight in reverse

Ornery_Climate1056 2026-03-05 16:04

So, move somewhere else so you can be gauged for your driving ability by your field of view.

SoggyAlbatross2 2026-03-05 16:06

And miss out on paying all these taxes? no way.

r3dmist420 2026-03-05 16:08

Person driving that baby shit green POS appears to have a mental handicap.

emalk4y 2026-03-05 16:10

Lol true. My 2021 MYLR front bumper refinish was quite expensive as they take out and recalibrate all the ultrasonic sensors. The 2024(3?)+ ones are just a dumb bumper now afaik, all the "sensors" are the camera unit in the windshield right?

therealdark1974 2026-03-05 16:28

This gave me an aneurysm watching and then at the end my head blew up ffs.

Character-Employ-154 2026-03-05 16:56

Idiot drivers everywhere. You know who you are…

Character-Employ-154 2026-03-05 16:58

I’m missing an eye. No excuse. Two eyes is a different story

1startreknerd 2026-03-05 17:16

Some people actually need a self driving car.

woodstream 2026-03-05 17:32

I'd imagine it was marginally better when that person had both eyes, but not that much better. Could this be a start of the one-eyed parking challenge via social media?

KeyBuy9723 2026-03-05 17:45

Right side is widely open.

trumpfairy 2026-03-05 17:45

Perhaps they shouldn't be driving then, if they can't see a parked car next to them, do you trust this idiot on a busy road?

JAWilkerson3rd 2026-03-05 17:57

What in the retardation is going on here and please revoke their license immediately!!! ![gif](giphy|ZP3Cg3CUVvJfi)

HmmDoesItMakeSense 2026-03-05 18:03

It was the one thing I wanted but my Tesla didn’t have. Still not sure why teslas don’t have 360. Why don’t you trust it? Seems so clear to show here is your car in space.

Loud-Way3333 2026-03-05 18:06

Ideal but hard to implement. I just hope the day of automated driving come ASAP.

Jbsmitty44 2026-03-05 18:07

Lots of hidden blind spots that aren’t apparent… trees and poles in parking lots can get lost completely. If you ever frequent the Rivian subreddits, there are consistent spots where people have dents because the cameras can’t see everything. The whole squiggly line thing, at least with the sensors on the Y, has been a much better system for me.

HmmDoesItMakeSense 2026-03-05 18:16

Ah didn’t know. I wonder which vehicle has the best 360.

EmpsKitchen 2026-03-05 18:20

As OP states, they must be SEVERLY handicapped. Most people can back up straight with their eyes closed...

woodstream 2026-03-05 18:30

It was a surprise to me when it was mentioned later in the comments. Hopefully someone can steer her into owning an FSD-enabled Tesla.

mailwasnotforwarded 2026-03-05 18:41

She shouldn't be driving.... Why is she turning out of a parking spot that early? How did she even get a license... They really need to bring back requriing parallel parking as a requirement for license exams, this would show at least basic understanding on how vehicles move when turning the wheel.

EmpsKitchen 2026-03-05 18:48

Amen to that!

soggy_mattress 2026-03-05 19:08

Have you ever heard any of the Reddit expert discussions about how it's impossible to drive with non-overlapping cameras because "you need parallax to determine depth safely"? I've tried to explain that regular people with one eye can still drive, but no one seemed to believe me. Here we have a person that literally trains people to do this. Incredible.

soggy_mattress 2026-03-05 19:08

Should not be giving advice period

nyssaqt 2026-03-05 19:10

I never park next to handicapped spots, and no, I have nothing against handicapped people, at all! but they are not known for their driving’s haha

juan003 2026-03-05 19:15

Why didn’t she go straight out?? She had a whole football field to her right! WTF ?

ex_nihilo 2026-03-05 19:24

Operating a motor vehicle on public roads is a right enshrined in the constitution fellas. Pack it in. You're so clever!

SirAxlerod 2026-03-05 20:48

If you’re trolling me, it’s subtle. I love my cars. I still own a weekender that’s older than I am. But we need to understand the world we’re living in. I still park far away or close next to islands in parking lots to minimum damage but shit happens. And I accept that risk. My skiing van for example, I know that every weekend, there’s a high chance someone will nick it with their skis in the parking lot. I notice a new scratch every few weeks. If I had Sentry mode on it, would I try to find the skiers who did every one because the van is worth over $100k? LMAO. No, in the real world, people don’t file a claim for every scuff they get on their cars. That would consume their time, life, and sanity. You can choose to be, but you don’t need to be that guy. Sure we could go around suing our neighbors for everything possible. You can litigate against your neighbors for their leaves that the wind blew into your yard, if that’s how you want to spend your life. You could set up cameras and file police reports for the old man walking his dog that peed on your bush. But you don’t need to. A tiny dent or even paint fade on a modern car can cost a grand now days. That can ruin someone if you found an adjuster who actually was willing to pursue it. There’s no need to be that guy making someone pay an irrational amount of money to fix a scuff. It’s a much more fulfilling life to learn to forgive and forget than to litigate against everyone who farts in front of you on the side walk.

lunker35 2026-03-05 21:02

We make it far too easy for people to get drivers licenses.....

SirAxlerod 2026-03-05 21:18

Upsetting in the very broad sense of the term, sure. But if I owned a Ferrari, I better be worth at least 20million liquid, and not give a crap. Am I gonna spend any time or mental energy, let alone be willing to be that guy to hold a family “accountable” because I got a video of their 5-yr old’s backpack zipper making a scratch walking through a parking lot with cars 18 inches apart? I certainly hope not. Cars are depreciating appliances that perform transportation. If we’re so consumed with their showroom finish and possessions where we would spend hours of insurance paperwork or litigation with Sentry mode and the shop time, we don’t get to enjoy it for what it is.

dejstone 2026-03-05 21:32

It took me about a year to trust the MY's side view cameras, when changing lanes, and not use the side view mirrors. Now, I'm just using the side view cameras, but I'm not sure I've made the right choice.

ItsJustaG2ME 2026-03-05 21:51

There was literally NO ONE next to her on the other side!!! Hahaha

Lucky_Bend9418 2026-03-05 22:06

The test agent is right n front of u. Your head is in a contraption that u can't turn your head. There's a light 180* apart and u raise a finger on the one that is lit.

Tntn13 2026-03-05 22:54

The problem may have been she was over relying on it.

clintbyrne 2026-03-05 22:57

That driver needs FSD

clintbyrne 2026-03-05 22:58

That driver needs FSD if ever someone needed it...

FrancisXavier112 2026-03-05 23:00

Missing the left eye. Yep checks out.

idontmakehash 2026-03-05 23:23

Most kids who parents ask for advice I say get them a four wheeler. I learned to drive on one as a kid. It's where I learned depth & different ways to judge depth.

HeyGirlBye 2026-03-06 00:33

Yes my husband always parks far or parks where one side is protected.

Aware_Bar_3351 2026-03-06 00:35

Remind those idiots that past a dozen or so meters, you’re not really differentiating with binoculars discrepancy anymore…

QuantParse 2026-03-06 02:17

Awesome. Tesla ftw

1nolefan 2026-03-06 02:51

Why would OP park so close to handicap parking

TheDemo7 2026-03-06 02:55

![gif](giphy|wDeR5t8wT0XO8)

snovvman 2026-03-06 03:08

As I have always maintained--there is a large population who should not be driving, should have never been able to obtain a driver's license, and are the significant cause of the high insurance rates.

califoneChris 2026-03-06 03:12

That driving was so egregious, I thought she was doing it on purpose. 😭

abgtw 2026-03-06 04:18

You have a very interesting example. I've actually had a $40k vehicle that was hit by a kid on his bike (i was parked along the street) and he left a 'down to bare metal' 5" long wide s shaped scratch that completely ruined the look of the vehicle. But I didn't even mention it to the parents. Same reasons you mention. Still has that scratch to this day. However I won't fault someone else for having a reaction in the same situation.

FeelsLiikeMe 2026-03-06 04:23

I feel like she might be missing a right eye as well bc wtf.

Specter-X 2026-03-06 08:39

What kind of driving was that? I thought there’s a wall right on her right side so she had to make such maneuvers

Razdent 2026-03-06 08:57

Had you said that on here before? I could swear I’ve seen this comment a while back.

Ok-Top7505 2026-03-06 09:26

Handicapped. That checks out.

sdinvest 2026-03-06 10:07

It looked like there was no car on her right side! WTH???

Status-Usual-6561 2026-03-06 10:15

They are driving like they are disabled...

Fun-Sundae4060 2026-03-06 10:22

Probably the left brain too

indiemac_ 2026-03-06 10:48

Ah, another cereal box license holder

Heathy94 2026-03-06 10:55

wtf are they even doing? How is it possible to be that shit at driving? All they had to do was reverse straight out and/or start turning the wheel left about halfway through. This is basic fucking stuff. \*Edit\* now aware she is missing a left eye, tbh I'd be able to back out of that space with my eyes closed ffs, still no excuse.

Independent_Bad_4514 2026-03-06 13:16

Dont park there… youre asking for that. No its not your fault but from years of experience w sentry mode and anecdotes parking far vs close, thats going to happen. I had an old lady crush my leg in between the door and frame after she saw me and said something to as i was putting my kid in their carseat.

Live-Entertainment-5 2026-03-06 13:38

The most maddening things is there wasn’t even a vehicle on the other side of them…

Kimchi2019 2026-03-06 14:43

I was thinking she must be a tight spot.... until... I find out she has an open side on her right. How do people like this get driver's licenses?

Kimchi2019 2026-03-06 14:44

And I just read the left eye bit. unreal. Funny actually.

wizkidweb 2026-03-06 14:53

I don't believe so. It happened to me fairly recently.

plgnply18 2026-03-06 16:05

Looks like the DMV office in TX.

Hairy_Hand837 2026-03-06 16:41

Hate to say it but if you went against your gut feeling........i won't say it. It sucks.

mk5tdi 2026-03-06 17:07

Wtf

ConstantBreadfruit12 2026-03-06 17:44

She need to take a dmv test . no depth of vision . DL - taken away . Now she should in the e junk cx50’and buy a Tesla Y subscription FSD.

ConstantBreadfruit12 2026-03-06 17:47

Until you run over ours at the cross walk even adults they don’t pay attention except looking down at their feet while crossing . Clueless

K0j22 2026-03-06 18:01

I don’t know where this person learned to drive but they need to go back or maybe stop driving. Before I even saw the handicap sign, basic driving 101 is you back straight out of your spot before you start turning the wheel. Not to mention she had a whole handicap side open on her right.🤦🏽‍♂️

soggy_mattress 2026-03-06 18:08

Right, they didn't really ever believe that, either.

WintervoltCusterfell 2026-03-06 19:01

Hoooo weeee! You tradin’ paint, Partner!

BarberSlow4421 2026-03-06 19:17

All that space available on the other side and she still manages to scratch your car 🤦🏻‍♂️

phillyodis 2026-03-06 21:02

Maybe drive but not reverse. These cars got 360 cameras you can watch the whole time. It's harder to back out in my Tesla that my palisade

HmmDoesItMakeSense 2026-03-06 21:57

Same! And the rear view is like a carnival prop!

standardcivilian 2026-03-06 22:18

Id get out of that spot better blind

Ambitious5uppository 2026-03-07 00:28

Why would nobody believe you?

QuantumQuicksilver 2026-03-07 00:28

Even with the missing eye, I'm confused at what she was trying to do, and why she didn't back up more than a few inches before steering back and forth. Good thing the damage was fairly minimal!

Ernapistapo 2026-03-07 01:58

Definitely not meant to be offensive. Someday I’ll be too old to drive if I’m lucky. FSD will allow me to remain independent.

EricHaley 2026-03-07 10:16

Where, exactly, is the S entry?

howdoiwritecode 2026-03-07 13:38

Comment is only offensive if you’ve never driven a car. There are terrible drivers out there who a robot can do better than, easily.

howdoiwritecode 2026-03-07 13:40

You don’t need both eyes to know backing out of a spot does not require you turning your wheel multiple times, and pulling up lol

Sonzie 2026-03-07 13:42

And also that the car has 360 vision… sounds like she missing her right eye too

Sonzie 2026-03-07 13:43

He already said, she’s missing her left eye

BasherNosher 2026-03-07 14:11

What I can’t understand is why they don’t make more use of the space to the other side. Also, just reverse park everyone please.

Elat3 2026-03-07 15:49

Okay, does missing the left eye automatically make you turn the tyres when reversing?

More-Somewhere-6502 2026-03-07 16:01

Omg, she should not be driving. No one parked on her right side. Take transit

woodstream 2026-03-07 16:09

The missing left eye has clouded the driver's judgement and has caused her to purchase a Mazda instead of a vehicle with FSD.

mka5588 2026-03-07 23:38

How are people so bad at driving ....

SortSwimming5449 2026-03-08 02:25

Who wouldn’t believe you? Why? Happens all the time.

PhantomDirtyJ 2026-03-08 03:59

You’re lucky. I had someone clip my car when they were backing out. The back bumper on the passenger side. Sadly, for some reason my sentry didn’t go off. A bystander told me but the car sped off. Sucks when things don’t work when I was not worried as I expected it would have recorded the scrape. https://preview.redd.it/eg4tu71xvqng1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba4c070d5a7a09c95fd8b8a8c5a2d025613210c4

HealthyAd3271 2026-03-08 05:26

My right eye doesn’t work and I have a CDL. Just memorize the eye chart. It’ll be okay.

Dizzy_Maybe8225 2026-03-08 08:51

The lady had so much space on the other side, why did she do that? Revoke their DL's !!. save others!!

muttpaws 2026-03-08 09:56

We’ll be glad you can fix your car at a body shop and still have your left eye which is invaluable!

joesnopes 2026-03-08 12:21

It's all right. As long as it's not for voting, asking for ID is OK.

NeedleworkerAwkward1 2026-03-08 15:40

Steering in completely the wrong way! What was she doing? Steer away from.. not into.

dansevenman 2026-03-08 17:05

never park next to a handicap space.

jroman-1987 2026-03-09 15:54

Handicap space. Go figure. That’s why I always park far away from the door

scjcs 2026-03-09 20:56

is that at UC Irvine? Peralta windows...

wengqi 2026-03-10 14:30

No left brain is her problem.

ASMTheValley 2026-03-10 14:43

I just bought myself and my girl 2013 model s p85's.. we love them but I can't wait to upgrade to new Teslas with more cameras and sentry mode because I've already got a door ding. People are cowards. Most people aren't going to leave a note apologizing for their damage caused

1990sInTheBox 2026-03-10 16:01

Arrrr move yer car ! Seriously sometimes it’s just that gut feeling when you not trying to be mean or anything but yeah glad it wasn’t that bad.

Inside_Bug4277 2026-03-11 01:39

She had half the world to get out that space and still hit you. WTF
