Not really, S/X have always lagged behind in software. Still don’t have the paint shop. However, excluding a modular instrument cluster, there’s nothing I really want via software so even if they stopped today, I wouldn’t really care.
Now hardware? A little considering plaids and p3 in general have some different parts under the hood in comparison to pre 26 so an excess of potential replacements since 21 isn’t really a thing.
Only thing I know for sure is that my next car won’t be a Tesla with them killing s and x. Pretty bummed too cause FSD blows everything else out of the water

Why?
• hardware is the same across the lineup
• software is the same across the lineup (per HW type)
• HW2.0 still gets limited updates (HW 1 = ?)
• without updates the car is still updated till today, still better than any other manufacturer

No, I see it this way. As a car owner with two vehicles—a Mustang and a MSP—if there were no other updates, my MSP would be 20 years ahead in terms of technology. There’s no comparison between cars with less advanced technology. Yesterday, I drove my Mustang and was reminded of the next level of convenience and technology embedded in my MSP HW3. Going from a 1000hp to like 350hp was quite an adjustment. It also sucked going to a gas pump. I charge at home and don’t hardly use supercharging so…first world problems. 🤣 All that to say, I’m good if no more updates came because everything else is a regress.

I personally think they will appreciate in price and become almost collectors items at least until there is something comparable available new again, but will there be? Not from Tesla…
Lucid seems to be wanting to take the challenge, but they have a very long way to go to even come close…

Not really worried.
Just bought a used 2018 X.
It works perfectly fine the way it is. If it didn’t get any more updates I’d be ok with it the way it is. Hopefully more to come but not the slightest bit worried.

No, I’m happy with my MX as it is. Although I’m happy with things as they are, this will be my last Tesla. Killing off the M&S, the up and down pricing, never again.

Not worried about our X. Still love the car. It will still perform and parts will be available either used, aftermarket or new.
I just wish they would have dropped the price like they did the cybertruck to test the demand of the vehicles more. I think more people would have bought them at a little lower price point. They don’t have to redesign either the S or the X to sell them, just small updates, mainly for FSD and they would be fine. The cars still look great to this day.

Not really. I have just over 2 years left on my Model X lease. I wont be getting another Tesla since they cancelled the S/X, but the car is already more advanced than what I need even if they stopped updates today.

Nah, considering my dad’s 2013 model S just got an update. I’m not worried at all. That thing is ancient and has no business getting updates.
