Autosteer availability

monk-of-times | 2026-02-20 01:58 | 12 views

Do Tesla cars sold after Jan 2026 have autosteer as an option at all? The model Y standard at dealer had only TACC and FSD as options. If you subscribe to FSD, is autosteer given as an option on premium models? Can some new buyers on this sub confirm what they see as options with their models?

I bought full FSD this year for the 2026 model y premium. When I go into the Autopilot section on the tablet I only see either FSD or TACC

I order my MY Premium AWD on 1/19/26 and picked up my vehicle last week. Tesla was able to honor my configuration with Autosteer.

A few weeks ago, Tesla stopped including Autosteer in new cars. With a potential few exceptions of really old Model S [edit: and the Cybertruck], every Tesla before that has Autosteer as an option. If you also own/subscribe to FSD, then FSD replaces Autosteer on any profile with FSD active. To get Autosteer back as an option, you need to create a separate profile without FSD active or disable FSD on your main profile.

The only options that show are either tacc or fsd. There is no autosteer option on the newest cars.

Only tacc or fsd. No autosteer. Ordered Jan 31, delivered Feb 6.

I'm aware. Read the first sentence of the comment you are replying to. New cars don't have it. Old cars do. If old car has FSD, then Autosteer doesn't show up on the profile when FSD is active.

> To get Autosteer back as an option, you need to create a separate profile without FSD active or disable FSD on your main profile. There’s no “getting it back” on new cars. To clarify for op.

Ok, now go back and reread my *second* sentence. Where I state all older cars have Autosteer. I then discuss how to find Autosteer on older cars. Such as, for example, the 2023 model OP was discussing.

GoSh4rks 2026-02-20 03:22

OP is talking about Jan 23, 2026 when Autopilot was discontinued. https://insideevs.com/news/785225/tesla-removes-autopilot-base-models/

StartledPelican 2026-02-20 03:25

Mate. For the last time, I *know* newer cars don't have Autosteer. It seems I misinterpreted OP's "Jan 23" as "January 2023" instead of "January 23, 2026". Regardless, nothing I've said is incorrect about Autosteer. New car not have Autosteer. Old car do have Autosteer. Old car no see Autosteer if FSD active on profile. Old car see Autosteer if FSD no active on profile. I seriously don't get why you are riding my nuts.

Some people just need to be right about something…

LoneStarGut 2026-02-20 04:23

This is not correct. Cybertruck never had autosteer.

StartledPelican 2026-02-20 04:26

Ah, good shout. I often forget about the Cybertruck. Not meant negatively, I just don't remember it has its own quirks. I'll edit my comment.

My prediction: some form of autosteer will return sooner rather later…. They are losing business because of this….

Delivered Aug 2025 TACC and Autosteer default with FSD sub TACC, Autosteer and FSD avaliable with FSD sub

CopperBlitter 2026-02-21 16:01

At the very least, it needs to be available when FSD is activated, but I don't think that will be good enough.
