What option have I enabled could be the issue

Murky_Fee5417 | 2026-03-11 13:47 | 19 views

Hi everyone! I got my tesla model 3 a couple of months ago and just a week ago I noticed the battery is going down super fast. Like I charge it till 80% and not use it , the sentry mode is off and everything but when i come a day after it would be 76% even when its sleeping. I once left it a couple of days parking when I came back I noticed that it most 100KM bc sentry mode was enabled but ok I turned it off and thought it could do better but nope. 😢 Please tell me anything that could help me🙏

Depending where you live could be cold weather.

The_Unwanted_Muffin 2026-03-11 16:22

Make sure that the accessory power is not always on.

Murky_Fee5417 2026-03-11 16:48

It says screen time how do i turn it off?

ionu_tt 2026-03-11 17:07

Murky_Fee5417 2026-03-11 17:22

Just did let’s see, thanks

Murky_Fee5417 2026-03-11 17:22

10c is not that bad

trippleknot 2026-03-11 17:26

Idk I live in Seattle and in the colder months it's like 40-50f (4-10c) it's not unusual for me to lose ~5% of a charge overnight if it's not plugged in. During the summer months it might not even lose 1% overnight Mine is a 2019 m3lr awd with ~120k miles just for reference.

Murky_Fee5417 2026-03-11 18:12

Mine is 2023 with 30KM

patrolmanEmbiid 2026-03-11 19:19

i have noticed when I have ASS lol ( actually smart summon ) ON , the battery tends to lose a bit more overnight than when ASS is off. being i do not use summon, i have it turned off, and i barely see 1-2% battery drop overnight (if not plugged in).

I think you scroll down in the charging menu.

jeff_fret 2026-03-11 20:09

Battery is automaticaly heated below -5 deg celsius

HEYitsBIGS 2026-03-11 21:31

Are you in cold weather?

the_real_DK_ATL 2026-03-11 21:41

30km? Do you drive it? 🤣😉

Murky_Fee5417 2026-03-11 21:58

30000km sorry 😂😂

Hi I am a fellow pnw Tesla driver. I just got mine. Do you notice much better real mileage per charge during spring and summer? I’m currently charging to 90% each night and that gets me around 165 real world miles. I have a 2022 model y awd lr with 46k miles on it

trippleknot 2026-03-12 00:53

Yeah mine gets WAY better mileage in the summer. In the cold months the mileage/efficiency probably dips by at least 30% maybe even more, but I don't really keep track.

Eyehopeuchoke 2026-03-12 01:01

I’m having two chargers installed at my house Friday which will make things a lot better for us I assume. I got mine last Friday and my wife the Saturday before that. We’ve been super charging to get us through til the chargers are installed. I’m still paying less than I was for gas, but the time spent at the super charger sucks ass! lol

trippleknot 2026-03-12 01:09

Yeah superchargers suck. I would never own a Tesla if I didn't have the means of charging at home. I'm actually incredibly spoiled and my apartment has free charging 😇

Eyehopeuchoke 2026-03-12 01:12

That’s awesome! I’m excited to get the chargers installed at our house! It’ll be a game changer for sure.

trippleknot 2026-03-12 01:13

Heck yeah! Enjoy the whip. I absolutely love mine.

Murky_Fee5417 2026-03-12 02:25

Guys do you keep it plugged in during night? And should I let it charge till 100% or 80%?

Murky_Fee5417 2026-03-12 02:25

I don’t have summon on model 3

Murky_Fee5417 2026-03-12 02:26

10 Celsius, is it expected?

BayKh 2026-03-12 03:19

There is a bug where if you have multiple precondition schedules, the car stays awake for many hours. Once I turned off all my Schedules, the car doesn't even use energy and just sleeps. I confirmed this by checking the energy app in the car for the BEFORE and AFTER, consumption falls off a cliff. Now I just precondition 10 minutes before I leave somewhere.

PaidForThis 2026-03-12 17:07

Make sure sentry mode is off too. Or set it to a reasonable time of action. ie doesn't activate at your house.

Ok_Description_ 2026-03-12 18:09

Smart summon, don't know why but it drained my battery like crazy

Novel_Employer_1798 2026-03-13 03:16

This! When I first got mine the battery lasted forever, then I turned on accessory power and it would drop just sitting in my garage. I thought something was wrong but nope it was me being an idiot. Once I turned off access power it was back to holding charge for days at a time!

Rifter0876 2026-03-14 17:52

Same, anything below 10c I loose a few % a night. 5 or 6 if I have sentry on.
