Had to say goodbye to my 2018 Model 3 today. This was under the frunk mat!

I completely forgot I put it there. The employees at the dealership were interested in seeing it and comparing it to a 2026.

Had to say goodbye?

According-Pass-781 2026-03-09 03:05

I’m interested too. I have a 18 mid range with nearly 150k on it.

Creative_Buy5227 2026-03-09 03:11

I saw this and thought the same thing.

NBKLee 2026-03-09 03:21

5k for enhanced AP? I guess my 24 AWD LR highland was a steal for 47k out the door.

Roddaculous 2026-03-09 04:31

I still have my 2018 with only 79,000 mi on it. I also still have the sticker in my glove box.

rjcarr 2026-03-09 05:18

Yeah, my 2021 base price was also $35K, but I think the LRDM was only a $12K upgrade, and then $1-2K for wheels.

chimelime 2026-03-09 14:18

You never removed your front mat to clean?

AlbieriMS 2026-03-09 17:22

Damn, then there’s me with a May2023 also with 79,000k miles 😂😂😂

zachg 2026-03-09 17:50

Exactly. I'm curious too. Still rocking my 2018 RWD LR

Traditional-Tiger-20 2026-03-09 20:22

Means he got a new car and traded in the 18

Traditional-Tiger-20 2026-03-09 20:22

Lmao right

Michael__Townley 2026-03-10 04:15

Good luck! I will keep driving my LR 2023 until the wheels fall off

MeasurementMother579 2026-03-10 06:18

I'm surprised it stayed dry for that long.

Damage was across the entire car, and damaged the frame (you can see that around the rear wheel well and just above where the car is slightly dented). Total cost to repair was \~$23K and the car is worth (2018 long range, 50K miles) about $20.5K. The car was in great condition. I'm sad to see it go.

thetango 2026-03-10 14:25

LOL I rarely used the frunk! I had a waterproof mat in there and I was surprised when I removed it.

thetango 2026-03-10 14:26

I was hoping to do the same for my 2018 :(. I would have replaced the battery in a few years if necessary. There was nothing wrong with the car before the accident.

BangBang-LibraGang 2026-03-10 14:42

How were you driving a charging habits during ownership

beansruns 2026-03-10 20:17

Blows my mind what these used to cost and how many people actually paid up for them

importantshare 2026-03-10 21:16

I sometimes forget how expensive these were upon release, but it makes sense considering the hype around M3 at the time. I think the performance was nearly 70k lmao crazy. I wanted one so bad too.

extreme-nap 2026-03-10 21:59

I still have my 2019 LR AWD with 60,000 miles. I bought the boost too! Waiting for HW 5 before I’ll upgrade. But I’m worried about them taking away FSD transfer at some point.

Visible-Pay1181 2026-03-10 22:37

How has it held up? Any paint chips, scuffs, fading, interior, battery health?

Stridyr 2026-03-11 03:03

Interesting! My 2020 LR/AWD sticker said $51,000! What a difference a couple of years can make...

rontombot 2026-03-11 13:04

Frame damage? There's no frame, it's a unibody design. Someone's going to get a bargain easily rebuildable Model 3.

Leyvaman-MX 2026-03-11 16:37

I also hang onto this- from all my cars👍. Unlike what they say about buying a Boat 🛥️ “the 2 happiest days are- the day you buy it…and the day you sell it😬”; coming across “this” always puts a smile on my face, especially our Teslas🫡

thetango 2026-03-11 16:53

Sorry Meant unibody was damaged.

thetango 2026-03-11 19:24

Totally true. I'm going with a new Model 3 Long Range Premium. I'll put both tags under the frunk mat this time :D

thetango 2026-03-11 19:26

Before the accident the car was immaculate inside and out. I took really good care of it. I like having my car spotless :)

RedElmo65 2026-03-12 06:41

Lol I still have mine. From May 2018. Very close to yours. I am missing the 19” wheels but have everything else. Including the rip off EAP. A year later they sold FSD for $4k for those who didn’t buy it. And wanted another $2k from me for FSD.
